So I’m new to the soap and body care item making. With this recipe do I melt the first section on ingredients and the second section separately and then add together? Also where did you get those little cups with the handles? Thanks for your videos and recipes

Has anyone made a recipe like this, with goat milk? I am thinking a water discount and adding it after the cook would work, just like normal HP. But, I haven’t seen anything on the internet about it… is that because it can’t/shouldn’t be done?
Update: I made this recipe with a water discount (for my milk), added the milk after the cook, with the glycerin- turned out great! I was a little worried it, but they seem to be perfect 👍🏻
@@kevinstrole4086 I added my fresh goat milk the same way you’d add it to hot process soap. Make your soap, with your desired milk amount discounted, once it's all cooked and ready to go, add your milk (make sure the temp isn’t too high) and that’s it! It worked well, and I will be doing it again.

Hi Ellen. How do you classify this as a hot processed soap? Is it because it is dual lye? Isn’t HP cooked in a hot pot? Also, do you mix both Naoh and Kaoh into the same liquid or separate liquids then add together? Really enjoy your channel. Thanks so much from here in Australia.
Good questions, I do think this is considered a HP soap. I started at 165 F and it heated up from there, so it was "cooking". And yes, I mixed both lyes into the same liquid pot😉

Hi. i am wondering, could you make this at a much lower temperature and use goat milk in the lye solution? I know the lye solution in the 160s will burn the milk. Im wondering your thoughts. If you do an ice bath for the solution to make at a lower temp, would it still work with this recipe. I really like this idea.

Hey Ellen, I tried this recipe today and my batter just stayed liquidy- like I added in the Stearic acid with the oils while they melted down -not sure where I went wrong bcuz I’ve been stirring for 20 minutes and still nothing 😏
I used a small cotton ball size of silk, it's so light I can't wiegh it. I measured the 2 different lyes in the same pot and added it to the water like normal. I've not seen a CP dual lye process...
@@Aaron83W I didn't explain that very well, sorry. First, the cups are stainless steel so the lye won't react with them. And second, this process is more similar to HP, but it's technically a CP soap. They go thru a full cure time in my studio.
@@Aaron83W I would replace the word "cook" with saponify, as that is what is happening, whether you do HP or CP, it's the oils and fully binding and making a skin friendly pH... I suggest getting some good pH strips and testing your soaps, after that, the cure time is important too.
