If you have a Rev XR/XS SkiDoo snowmobile and your heated grips stop working due to a malfunction in the gauge cluster, this video shows how to repair it.
This only applies to sleds that have the digital cluster that shows the heated grip level on the cluster lcd.

I should have mentioned in the video to check and make sure you have >5 ohms of resistance through each of the heaters. The heaters can short to ground and that’s what causes the SMD in the cluster to burn up. Pull the plastic cover off the center of the bars and you’ll find two plugs for the handle bars. The grip heaters + are orange and ground is black. The thumb + is brown.

Was your bar gauge still reading level before you replaced the chip? Having issues with my thumb warmer. Thanks

Yes. The buttons were telling the cluster to change the heat level, but the cluster was unable to send power to the warmers because of the burnt out BUK215 topfet switch in the video.

Thanks for the Video. I just had my cluster quite wroking on Sunday it will not power up at all. Have checked the wiring harness to the cluster and everything is working as it should be. Tried bench testing the cluster by putting power to pin 8 and grounding pin 11 to see if it will power up but still nothing. there is nothing visibly wrong to me. Is there any chance you may know what component on the board might be causing my problem. Thanks in advance for your time

I just followed your instructions but it did not work. I know the gauge is the problem because I swapped gauges with another sled and the heaters worked. I did a sloppy job. I used a soldering iron that was too big and I’m clumsy. Can I pay you to repair three gauge clusters with the grip heater issue?
