Ah man! this would be perfect. I have a small shop, and don't even have a vise to mount my trim router. I usually just (strategically/puckeringly) clamp it to end of my outfeed table. Very well thought out and designed Mr. Morsels! and, as always, a great video to go along with it.
I think all of us with tiny shops come up with some ridiculously innovative way to work around things like this.. but who ever gets this would be a great add
I’m just starting out in woodworking, and have a very small shop. This seems like it would be a great solution for all those times I wish I had a router table. I think you’ve hit the sweet spot in this design. There’s a lot of videos with very complicated designs and a lot that are basically a board with a hole clamped to a bench. This one checks all the boxes.
Wow KJ, that table is the “cats meow”! Great job as always. Really appreciate your time and effort in providing such outstanding content over the years. I’ve learned a ton from you and am very grateful. As always, be well and God Bless.
I like your channel I watch all your videos unfortunately I living on México but glad that I can learn from a professional And I really love to have that router table.
This is so well thought out, and crafted. It looks (and I’m sure functions) better than anything you could buy. Also, the video itself was fun to watch. KJ, you never cease to amaze!
Hi. Absolutely love the design and although I live in South Africa it it so worthy of someone else in your area. I am a carpenter and appreciate excellent work. Your rates in my top 5.
This router table is making my morsel peek out a little bit. Great video Keith love your work and the Shop Sounds Podcast (throwing in a plug for anyone reading this).
Clever design! As I share my shop space with a couple cars, I can definitely appreciate the ability to quickly and easily disassemble jigs/fixtures as needed. Best of luck to everyone interested!
Wow, good luck picking a comment! I can see why everyone is so excited to throw their hat in the ring to own this thing. As a Canadian, I guess I'll just have to make it myself! I love the fact that you used the valchromat. You've inspired me to bling out all my jigs going forward with off-cuts and scraps...I'm also jealous of all your sleds with walnut or sapele fences....I've been using plywood like a sucker...
Thanks Vaughn!! That Valchromat is pretty slick, but very difficult to get in my area unless I buy a full-size sheet. And as long as jigs are functional, accurate and reliable the materials don't matter 😜👊
I agree with Lola, these definitely pass the sniff test. Always impressed by your work, and loved the comedy bit at the beginning! Keep up the great work :)
This would be a great addition to my portable tool setups that stay on my truck. As a trim carpenter I is essential that all of my tools are easily portable and this little table would fit the bill perfectly for that.
I like how small it I am portable it is. This week great for me workshop in the garage. Love your videos and your personality. Do you want of my favorite woodworker on RU-vid. Keep up the great work!
That's an awesome little table you got there, Keith. You are one of like, 4 RU-vidrs I actually have my notification bell on for. I do think you still need to make something for your cats though. It's like you don't love them or something.
I appreciate that, William!! It's really nice to hear. And eventually I'll make something for those furry rascals, other than a pile of Harbor Freight blankets to nap on. 😹
I already have a compact router table, so I don't need one. Best of luck to those that do enter and future congratulations to the winner of this fine little router table.
*I already have a larger 2.5HP router that I have mounted in a table **MyBest.Tools** I not longer have to lug that unit out for the majority of routing that I do. The compact router is much easier to handle and control. Can easily cut through hardwoods with the largest 1/4" shank bits I have. Impressive. Cordless is a huge bonus considering I already have several 5AH DeWalt batteries for other tools. Highly recommended.*
I like the knobs and threaded inserts rather than just knocking apart the table. It took a little more work and materials but its simplicity and likely ease of use will make it worth it. Also good to see J & L again. I think I can almost tell them apart now.
Keith, Awesome build and idea with the breakdown for those of use who have tiny shops. How many of us said “why didn’t I think of that”. I Definitely need to build this if not picked.
What a perfect build at a perfect time. I share my garage workshop with my wife's car so smaller yet very functional is much better. I will be getting plans for this, thanks!
@@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking Makita RT0701C 1-1/4 HP Compact Router. Just getting into wood working, and really enjoy your videos. Loved the ones with Bourbon Moth Woodworking!
Another fun build, thank you. I just bought a bunch of tools from a retired wood worker including a saw stop table saw. one thing he did not have available, Was a router table, and it would sure look good in my shop, Wink wink... I'm sure whoever gets it will have a real quality router table.
Lola has good taste. It’s a great design for a router table. I like that it’s quick and easy to pull the router out. Especially if you only have one router
Keith your channel makes me feel so good. I forget about what a dumpster fire the world is because of your kind, humble, self deprecating sense of humor/attitude. It doesn’t hurt that you’re an amazing wood worker/designer. I have a Jessem router table with Porter cable router so your give back should go to someone other than me, but I hope my feedback brightens your day. Best.
