I can truly say I’ve seen a lot of guys work on construction sites, and you do the work of (10 guys) well-done. P.S. don’t get rid of the backhoe, it serves a dual purpose, excavator and trencher...!!!

Great! Starting to look like a place you can live with this water supply. If it is going that well at this time of year you should have no problem for the rest of the year too!

Great job, having water is really going to change progress and all your future projects. As your well culverts don't have steps all the way down drop step ladder, wire rope ladder or a knotted rope, if you fall in, you are finished.

great job with all the videos, I like to see the work you put in with the stories that fill the background to go along with the video. Great to see how after all the hard work you can do in a day that there is always time left over for the family.

Suggestion if you are interested: You can use a regular well pump in there. Make a sleeve for the pump to make sure you get fresh cool water past the motor. You should build a little frame in there and use a pitless adapter to attach the pump. It'll save you from having to go down in the cistern in the event of a pump problem. Also, make some kind of sluice system to stir up the sediment at the bottom of the cistern so you can pump it out as needed. More sediment will accumulate than you think. Anyway that's my 2cents. Nice job!

Congrats man! I appreciate the insights. We're in a similar situation here in western Washington, just a few steps behind. State requires a certified driller to install a deep well and its almost impossible to certify a shallow well because ground sealing requirements. And banks won't loan money on land/homes using shallow wells or surface water. But we have a huge resource we can't ignore. Best wishes and keep the vids coming!!!

If it is in any way possible in your budget, keep the back-ho. It has saved you time and back-ache numerous times. Would have taken a week or more to dig that 100 foot trench by hand and saved on refill as well. Great progress and so glad you found water.

Love the work and videos, but a couple k for the water? Cisterns, 3 loads of gravel, backhoe, excavator, 300ft X2 pipe, signal wire, pump(s), pressure Ctrl, valves, solar panels/controllers/Batts/mts/wiring, sediment, uv, carbon block filtration, storage tank, etc. Seems like a heck of a lot more than a couple thousand, plus an incredible amount of work (obvious no stranger to that). I'd love to see a breakdown. Keep up the awesome work and know us regular folk are pulling for ya. :,-)

Can't tell you how happy I am for you that this worked out as well as it has. Who would have thought that that little seep you found way back when would become your well site. I remember when you had the witcher up there looking for a spot. All he found was a big ass rock that bent your drillstock. Are you going to end up with a smaller tank by the house, or just run pipe direct from the tank to the garden, shop, and house?

Good job alot of work I do question 16 guage wire should be a minimum of 12 guage to run a pump a100 ft from main power source personally myself I wouldn't have went less than 10 guage but I'm certain if you running a pump on 16 you will be replacing it before long

Our neighbor was spraying his ditch banks with a defoliant. At some point he saw a small leak in the poly tank. He just got a hand full of dirt and reached down into the liquid and packed the dirt over the hole. The leak was fixed farmer style. 2 hours later he passed out and he died 3 days later.

If the wire gives you an issue you can always go wireless. The wire is a good thing though anyway because after things get grown over for a long time, that wire will let you detect the exactly location of the run even if it is copper.

Also where does the water seep into the concrete rings, underneath presumably? I have a spring which currently fills a pond at ground level and am working out the best way to properly harness this water.

it's also the difference between 5 bushels an acre and 25 bushels an acre or more. pesticides used to be made or based on arsenic, mercury, or even tobacco soaked in water and then the "tea" poured around the plant. killed the bugs, but wasn't very good for people either. I still remember DDT as a child, and video of people eating agent orange to prove how "safe" it was. some people are jst dumb.

Great job...and you will curse the day you get rid of a great running backhoe.....Got one question... will the water fill the entire cistern? Or because you entered the side vs the top will it be where you drilled the hole? And why not run the line in from the top? Just curious ? I do understand you are pum ping to a huge tank above your house for pressure... so maybe it doesn't matter.

Hay buddy, Just saw Busted's video where he put down hay as a layer around his well. PLEASE do not do this. The hay will start to rot and or compost and it will find a way into your well. Hay is a organic and it will grow mold and bacteria. Sand would be a much better choice. I think I understand him thinking the hay will act as a filter to stop finer soil filtering down but the hay is not going to say hay its going to turn to compost. I know you did not say anything about hay in your well but I know you know them and hope you understand what I am saying. Its going to leach into his well. Keep up the good fight.

As ever, it's much more complicated than RU-vid comments can cope with, and it's probably a mix of genetic and environmental factors, plus Parkinson's is looking likely to be more than one condition with similar symptoms but the stats do suggest a link: www.scientificamerican.com/article/parkinsons-disease-and-pesticides-whats-the-connection/ . Probably better to err on the side of caution at this point.

Parkinson’s Disease: Interesting fact about Parkinson’s which isn’t known by many, is that it was nonexistent until the beginning of the industrial revolution. The first documented case of Parkinson’s Disease was reported in England, 1817 by Dr James Parkinson of the Royal College of Surgeons. As the Industrial Revolution grew and spread throughout Europe during the 1800’s so did the reported cases of Parkinson’s. The exact cause of Parkinson’s Disease still isn’t known but as pointed out in this video there is clearly an environmental component. The cases reported show an obvious association with exposure to pesticides, oil based solvents and lubricants. Which of course were nonexistent before the Industrial Revolution.
