The base plate sits perfectly on the stands so I didnt use anything, but you may use hot glue to secure it better.

I would like to know more about the stand that the pieces are on. Did the round base fit onto that square stand, and did the stand have some kind of plexiglass to support it?

Do we need to keep the plate attached or remove before putting onto the metal stand we saw at the end?

Hi. the plate should always stay in place since it holds the oasis foam.

Also can you tell me exactly how many hydrangeas you used for each piece because the description says 12 jumbo, but I watched the video several times and I counted you using 10 for one centerpiece?

Yes you will need a floral foam but a dry foam for artificial flowers. The dollar store or craft store has them
