DIY teardrop campers are sprouting up every where you look. Lots of creative minds are building some clever creations. However, while many may feel comfortable screwing pieces of wood together, they may be somewhat intimidated by the electrical portion of the build. If this is the case with you, don’t let it be a stumbling block. In this video we review the FFpower 2000 watt portable power station (portable solar power station if you have panels). Being an all-in-one AC and DC unit, it very well could be the answer to bypassing the complicated wiring portion of a build! More quiet than a generator, but just as portable, this may be a great addition to an van lifer, teardrop camper enthusiast, or even small travel trailer owner.

Mike, The reason for those lids with the hinges at the top is so it naturally closes by gravity and keeps dust (and rain) out without even having to think about it, or if you forget to close it. but other than that, I always look forward to your videos! Fried Baloney Sandwiches 4Life! Can't wait for the Air Conditioner video!

I just purchased one of these less than a month ago. I loved it and can't wait to test it under heavier conditions as it's plugged into my fridge/freezer in the back of my truck bed w/ topper. It's hooked up to a 180w solar panel and it charges some of my smaller pps. Caught mine on sale for $1100. Good review 👍🏿

Utah Jeff …here … thanks for the great review of this power station… I have 2. 600 WH power stations currently and I am planning on buying a larger unit … I think it will power a portable fridge better …. I can also charge the smaller ones during the day with my solar panels and use the smaller ones and download the power into the larger one …..at night …. At least that is my plan … will purchase soon

Pretty nice! I run a mini split and everything off another brand out in my off-grid shed. It’s amazing what these battery generators can do! Really nice a/c set up. I used a portable a/c to air condition a tent last weekend. It works! Too funny what you can learn on RU-vid.

Great tip about the 3D printer! I'm fortunate to live somewhere with really stable power, but even once could be quite a hassle. Still, good to know it'll power pretty much anything. Even kept up with the microwave!

Nice unit. I’m building my square drop as we speak and wiring everything to my 6000k Titan solar generator. I’ll run an inlet for external power as well but all my dc will run off the solar generator. LUC your tear drop and I’m in Norris Lake area. Maybe one day I’ll show you my build. Thanks for the great podcasts! I’ve learned so much

And it's a learning experience for my 14 Year old son as well. I've heard nothing but good things about these.we plan on using them for charging our phones and cameras and not to mention running ked camp lights if necessary.plus,we live in New Orleans and it's hurricane season,soooo.yea.

The cover going up is good in case you get rain. Maybe a latch to hold it up. I wouldn’t like two hand operation to plug in. My Bluetti had a rubber plug that lifts up and I don’t like it but water can get in if open … so down would be better.

Awesome pwr box! It's basically a big whoppin UPS system with bookoo power outputs to handle everything in your toy box! Thats uninterrupted power supply to some folks out there. It could also be hooked up to your house PC's, WiFi, Security System, Television, Anything you don't want pwr blips on. And here in Okla City, OG&E looses pwr on a regular basis for no apparent reason....

Thank you! The setup is pretty simple. It’s an Astron power supply running a 25 watt QRP Xiegu G90 HF unit. It’s 10 - 160 meters. I have it connected to a 131 ft end fed half wave 80 meter dipole. Here in East Tennessee I have really good luck working 40 meters during the day and 75 (80) meters at night. 73’s!

Hey, thanks for the kind words. My printers are Creality Ender 3 V2’s. As a note, I have some experience with a Voxelab Aquila printer which is pretty much a clone at a much lower price and found it to be rock solid.

I see you have the Jackery linked, as well. Which do you think is a better station?
@CampandCamera
@CampandCamera 2 года назад
To be honest, they both seem to function very well. The Jackery is much easier to tote around, but doesn’t have the power of the FFPower. For smaller tasks I’ll probably pick up the Jackery due to the light weight, but for a job like running a camper for a few days or keeping a 12v fridge running for an extended period, the FFPower is more capable. At this point, I plan to use both extensively.

I just received mine. That plug door broke immediately. I was sliding it back into the ship box to move it and the door caught and broke. Its on plastic little pegs that sucked. Anyways i have a question about the 50,000 Vs 60,000 Hz . Which one to use and for what and why?
@CampandCamera
@CampandCamera 2 года назад
Hey congrats on your purchase! I ended up removing the plug door myself. I’m much happier without it. As for your question, I just did a Google search and it appears that 60hz is used in the US. Most of Europe uses 50hz. I don’t know why though.

4-5 hrs of ac isn't doing anyone any good and...charging it with shore power while using it defeats it's purpose. It would be useful for running the 12volt lights or charging your phone, I imagine you will get some long use time from it that way....but definitely not going to be adequate for powering a camper for more than a few hrs. Technology still has a long way to go.
