I have decided to make all three pieces so one has a full train. I'm working on the templates for the tin cut outs and the graphics. I will try and keep the original look as much as possible but it may have some slight changes for practical reasons. i have not figured out how to make train tracks yet but will approach the problem later. These cut outs and graphic drawings will take some time but I hope to keep you updated on RU-vid on how it's going.

I can't wait until the kits are ready & looking forward to building a tin train. My plan, however is to print out the parts on card stock in color and first make a card stock train and then do one in tin. Thanks for doing this project and sharing the process with us. I look forward to more.

Still working on drawings and hope to cut out some tin sometime soon as a test. I made a paper Torpedo boat a while back and it was very difficult.

I am doing something similar with aluminium flashing .Rivet detail is punched into the sheet flashing. The corners are fastened with tab strips and epoxy adhesive. Instead of lithograph , I will eventually make images silk screened to the panels prior to cutting them out.

Ever tried water slide paper for the graphics? These may be able to be made using beer cans for a different look.

I hope to use biscuit tins as the tin is easier to work with. I will look into water slide paper for graphics....thanks.

@@WillyDahm Dave at "Toy Polloi" used it for graphics on one of his Vintage Space action man tunics, he tried a lot of methods and that worked. A biscuit tin could work, old fashioned toy could become retro again.
