DanTheGuppyMan that's hard to say. Hmm maybe what ur plans are for the colder seasons ho you prep. Also a good educational video on food and variety of things to feed turtles. I feed talapia and sticks I'm sure there is more out there.

Ochibason They are exposed to sunlight from 10:30 until about 7pm

You don't need to spend a ton to give them a good life, but it will cost you some money. A 110 gallon tub can house 2 sliders fairly well and it costs $70, then I built a filter for maybe $50 and heater is about $40. Then if you keep them outdoors when larger and predator proof the enclosure they get free sunlight and uvb! No bulbs needed :) They are relatively tough pets but if you do your research I'm sure theyll be just fine :)

DanTheGuppyMan Thanks for your response! Unfortunately we’re apartment renters so I don’t think we’ll be able to get them outdoors, but things may change in a few years. I was just concerned about the two fighting, or if one turns out to be a girl and being stressed from the other’s ‘courting attempts.’ We’ve updated their house and are using two stacked bricks as a cave like area and the basking area with a bamboo sushi mat as the ramp and to cover the top of the taller brick. The little guys seem to love holding onto the lower brick or crawling on top to remain half-submerged. The plastic tub is clear so during the day they keep trying to swim through it, but we taped paper to the sides to try to dissuade them. Right now I think they’re sleeping under the little gap between the basking brick and bamboo mat where their bodies are submerged but they can have their heads out of the water and are still ‘hidden’ (we freaked out for a bit because we couldn’t find the turtles but they’re both in the gap). They’re so dang cute!

Melody Lao Sounds like you're taking FANTASTIC care of those two little ones!! As for aggression if you give them space as they grow they can either be friendly to one another, or if one becomes aggressive simply split them or re home one. Keep up the great work!
