Hi guys! Today I’m going to show you how my husband built a window bench for our master bedroom.

Georgeous room makeover. I wish I had the skill set to do this in my son’s room. We need a built-in unit like this to store all of his toys.

You could try to use an Ikea hack to make the bench.

My family and I just bought our first home and we have a bay window just like that in our kitchen and I really want to build a bench for it. This is literally the best video on RU-vid showing how to do it. There are other videos out there but they don’t explain every detail as good as this one does. Thank you very much

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. We also have the same window in our kitchen nook, but the windows are low so we decided not to do it there. Plus I prefer to have support for my back when sitting to eat. 😊

Hi, I bought a Foam cushion 3" hight density on Amazon. I made a diy cover using painters cloths but my idea was to make a French mattress but I've been procrastinating. 😊

do you also have an estimate of materials costs? I'm going to buy the lumber, screws and trim and just want to know what the budget was. my space is almost the same as yours lol so I plan to copy most of this

I'll say about $200-250. The cushion is another $100 just for the foam.

what kind of screws did you use throughout?

We used 1" and 2.5" zinc plated construction screws (T-25 head).

If you would have cut that carpet closer you could’ve used a kicker and tucked the carpet. No need for the crown molding :) Looks great and good job!

One more thing we got it built but are having trouble locating the pull to open up the top lid. You mentioned Home Depot in the video but we still couldn’t locate it. Do you have an item number or accurate description for this “pull”?

Hi, here you have it. • 1/8in plywood • ¾ in plywood • 2x4 studs • Piano hinges • 3in Construction screws • 2in Construction screws • 1 ½ in brads • ¾ brads • Caulking • Wood glue • Paint • Shellac • Ring handles • Safety supports

All of our power tools are Ryobi. We used an impact drill, table saw, miter saw, circular saw, palm sander, and an airstrike brad nailer. We also used an assortment of hand tools and a kraig jig to drill pocket holes. Any tools you're specifically interested in or curious about? I hope this helps 😃
