Supplies:
Liquid Starch- 1 cup (Sta Flo brand works best)
Flour- 1/2 cup
Embroidery Thread
Water Balloons
Tips:
For extra hard eggs add 2-3 tbs of Mod Podge Hard Coat to your mixture
Let dry overnight for best results
Do not use heat to dry or it can pop the balloon

I did the same thing but in my balloon I put a dollar so that when you pop it the money is in side. You can do the same with candy, coin's etc. 🙂

If you want to extend Lincoln's sensory play with eggs, you can pick up plastic ones and glue buttons, velcro, pipe cleaner, pom poms, felt, or any other things laying around the house that have texture all over the egg. These are super fun for little ones and is also giving them that added sensory learning aspect that's really important! love these eggs! they look so pretty!

Awe I loved the end of the video the best clearly they're sturdy enough that even a 2 year old cannot Crush them. I made some felt carrot bunting and would like to work on a rabbit inspired quilt for my little.

I've attempted these a few times using other 'hardener' and have failed. This was combined method with using embroidery thread (lighter than yarn) makes me want to try again! They're so cute!! I have to say...the gold one was my fav!!

This can be a year round craft also if you make them round instead of egg shaped. When you blow up the balloon you just let a little of the air out to make it a sphere instead of egg shaped. I have a wooden bowl of green and yellow ones on my dining room table right now. I've never used the flour before, just concentrated starch. Do you know what purpose the flour serves. Maybe just to thicken thinner starch. I tried sugar water once, but that didn't hold up to well.

I did this in Sunday school with some of the little kids but since it was close to Christmas we made Christmas ornaments

I did it once in my classroom as an art project and I did it on chrismas eve, so we called them ornaments because ours were more rounder. And so we used glue mixed with water instead of using the mixture in the video. If you dicide to make one, you'll have to be gentle because it is delicate.

Hey Brooke! Fun tip: add glitter in the mixture and after wrapping place the balloon in there or just sprinkle it over the top! Btw love all of your DIYs

Hi brooke I love your diy and I tried this and I know how hard it is to blow the water ballons and here's the step you just take a straw and put the water ballons inside it and there u go and if you find difficult to tye the water ballons just take a loom band and tye there u go
