LOL my eyes say DJ RAY, I thought what DJ Ray Out Of Los Angeles) I have not talked to him in years we grew up DJing together in the late 80's you know you lose tough after your 20's with so many people.
Just got my MLS 900 .....I used them twice and i love the sound im getting , its so well matched . My first gig was a roof top wedding 50 people no problem ...but i didnt do the recpetion i did ceremony ..cocktail..dinner and toast .....a band came in and did the recption . my second gig was a wedding maybe 60 peole but it was a medium sized hall and ..ok ..maybe i should have gotten the MLS1000.... becaause the last hour i was making the harbingers work to the limit .. but im keeping them becasue they are sooo easy to carry and set up and i will use them for small gigs only .
Great setup. And the Harbingers sounded pretty good. For those that can't afford some high JBL speakers, Harbinger seems the best brand right now regarding pro equipment and not breaking the bank. LD is another good brand for line arrays, but they are more expensive as well.
Nice and clean. Love that booth. It's a shame they spent all that money on the barn and forgot HVAC. Hopefully you have a booth video on your channel. I will be looking. You inspired me to buy a couple white power/extension cords.
you're right, dancing at weddings like you say is not always as pronounced. i have the mackie srm flex because i can't get the harbinger mls 1000 in austria, but it's also very impressive and about the same in performance.
Haha. It was VERY cold. It actually kinda killed the party. We were supposed to go until 11, but we ended at 9:30. Even with all the propane heaters, we just could not keep that barn warm.
lovely job lovely set up nice and clean I c this is the way things are starting to go in the USA with theses kinda speakers very nice and clean but here in Ireland I’m using the RCF art 712 mk4 fantastic speakers haven heard anything yet to beat them but great job ur doing
What a nice venue!!!! WOW that place is beautiful!! P.S. I have the MLS900's - like them but missing the grunt for larger jobs, and missing reverb - which the MLS1000 now has. Enjoy the new speakers!
I rolled my 900 out for just a ceremony outside once, never make that mistake again. The 900 is now my work around the house speaker. It doesnt go to gigs at all.
Hey dude, Looking back how do you feel about the dual MLS1000 setup compared to your new column array setup (I think you have Mauis now). Thanks bro, love the content
Oh not even a comparison. Don't get me wrong, for whatever these are pricing for now, they are still a great speaker for fill or cocktail hour or really small weddings. But as of right now, there are only a couple of column arrays out there that can compete with the Maui 44 G2's.
You think this will satisfy a room of people for 80-150 people? Trying to get in to dj again have 2 15in alto speakers and want something more compact and fast hows the bass on the small subs?
I was thinking of getting one on these and plugging into one of the channels of my mls1000. I put a few vocal mics, kick drum, snare drum and some overheads into this board and feed to channel on mls1000, won’t it be too much for a single channel?
Another scenario/question...Would you/could you sync this to an MLS900 without an issues? So plugging all mics/instruments into the 1000 and then running that into the 900. is that possible? Reason being is that I have the 1000 and my bandmate has the 900.
Glad I found this video. I just got this for our band situation. It's more geared towards an acoustic brand of music but playing with a small drum kit. I was curious to know how hard you pushed it...meaning for the volume, where did you have it set and did it feel like you were pushing this unit to it's limit. Also, you mentioned at the end you put a small mixer in front of the unit. I am planning on doing that as well as we need to support multiple vocals as well as multiple acoustic guitars. Can this unit handle that with what you see or am I asking for trouble looking to do that. Thanks from New Jersey.
I run my mixer, or in this case controller, & external mixer in unity, so the speakers are being fed a healthy, clean audio signal I honestly don't remember what I had then set on as far as the speaker. As decent as they are, they're not my Maui's, haha. But these are a vast improvement over the MLS-900's. I still have them too. I use them for fill speakers in big weddings and cocktail hour. Still work great and sound amazing.
@@djtravismcguire Thanks for the details. So I'm assuming I really can't overload my 1000 with 2 or 3 vocals and 2 acoustic guitars? That's the max I'd have in there unless I have a small mixer, which is the eventual plan for our gigs.
I Can not believe these speakers can handle this space, I am a old school DJ and always used JBL, PV and Evs 15's min and added subs if needed, can anyone confirm this can really handle an event like this, what if it was a sweet 16 would you and some additional speakers?
@djtravismcguire have you heard of studiomaster direct 121. I'm debating whether to get those or the maui 11 g3 or just a pair of the harbinger. Mostly for house parties 40-60 people so I don't take my rcfs.
How did you avoid clipping (front led turning red) on these? As soon as I put a track with bass, I have to turn the volume and bass down. I tried connecting them straight to my DDJ and also through an external mixer. Thanks
Hi I have questions I just bought 2 of mls1000 my questions is when I turned the bass up I see the red light in front of the speaker where's under the harbinger logo, but when I check the top if it's clipping its normal no red light indicator
@@djtravismcguire I just purchased the MLS900 at a discounted price of $299 to get an idea of what the line sounds like. I'm liking it so far. I'm also looking at the EV Evolve 30m but I'm thinking the MLS1000 might be a better bang for the buck. Disclaimer, I'm a gear whore and own a DJ Company so I have many different setups I use for different occasions.
