Hey Matt, Great Tutorial... One quesiton, is there anyway to export a one shot sample instead of patterns/loops... When I try to it doesn't allow me to save it as an mp3 or wav only .msnd... Thanks!
my point exactly! im just trying to understand how this is going to work here... im mean what am i suposed to do.. send a bunch of loops to a mastering engineer ?
that might be, but a mastering chain, if you are doing it youself, should be done for the entire track ! if you export loops individualy shure they'll sound better then before the audio passes thru ozone, but all together i think it wont !
if you have something like sasturation on the master, shure if you export each loop separatly then yeah the output will more or less be the same if you put all tracks together! but if you have a compressor on the master, its suposed to compress all the tracks together! if you export each track on its own its not actually compressing all tracks together. that would be like in your daw having a compressor on each channel and not on the master channel!
great tutorial! but i have a big question that i couldnt figure out yet! isnt the sound quality gonna SUCK when playing unmasterd stuff in the bigger systems ??? doing this in live you could still load some vst's to help with that, but here in traktor ?? somebody please explain me how this is ok! soundquality wise... i love the remix decks, but it really makes no scence to me to play with un masterd and even unmixed loops! somebody plz explain me
Is there a way to keep the remix deck from syncing at all? I'm trying to use it to do vocal drops with my name and when it tries to auto sync the sample plays too fast. Any suggestions?
Little Tip for everyone reconstructing own Songs into the Remix Decks: Turn OFF every Normalize and Auto-Gain feature you can find on the way (including the one he suggested checking in the Traktor preferences). That way, all the levels you set for your instruments will stay that way when playing your track inside the remix decks. Otherwise, if you've got an instrument that should be a little quieter in one cell it will be exactly as loud as e.g. your drums in the other cell.
it blows me away how people are getting into this... i love the concept but i hate the fact that you arent even playing mixed music... not to mention masterd...
