I do wish Quik pulled up sober, but this was a rollercoaster ride with wisdom and laughs at every single bend. One of the best musicians period. Not just a producer a musician. Super talented with arrangements, playing instruments etc.. Quik can literally do it all. He is underrated for sure.

People don't know... Heatwave was one of the COLDEST BANDS OUT!!! We didn't know it when that was a hit but "Boogie Nights" started off with a Be Bop Jazz Shuffle/ Went to Disco / Back to a Be Bop Shuffle. The Wilder Brothers and Rod Temperton were HUGE!!!
Quik is absolutely right about Luther’s ‘The other side of the world’. WOW that song used to make me emotional when I heard it. That’s one of the best (underrated) R&B songs in history!
As a music producer I’ve learned so much from Quik,, But what always stood out in his tracks were the voice overs from actors like Richard Pryor and the unique percussions he would fuse with his beats. A producer/rapper that did it right. Thanks for having him on the RNB Money podcast!

I think this by far is my favorite episode!!!! It was cringy, informative, funny.....maaaaan. I want to now interview Tank and J on the thoughts that were running through their minds during this interview. They weren't ready for Quik but they were ready for Quik. Coming from Bx, NYC in the 90s I grew up listening to quik, Super talented and his voice was just different, but I'll definitely say this growing up thru the years you were able to tell when quik added his touch to a song, Only If You Was True Fan, Shout out to the West Coast LEGEND
I wasn’t sold on this episode at first. Glad I stayed. Quik was so funny & entertaining. When he took a drink & then Tank took a drink of the vitamin water…I was dying. Great show!!!
