DJI Banned by United States?

The world's largest drone manufacturer was hammered by the U.S. government on the morning of December 18, 2020. The United States Department of Commerce added DJI to its Entity List, listing them as a "national security concern." This is an export blacklist which blocks all U.S. companies from exporting any goods to DJI. Which will likely affect DJI's supply chain and their manufacturing process. These sanctions are "human rights violations" which raises many ethical and moral questions about the company.
How this will affect pricing and availability is yet to be known. Only time will tell. But I do suggest updating all of your DJI apps just to be safe in case the app stores decide to remove them.

Misleading. DJI can't get components or IP from US based companies without a special license. It's not a ban, it's just they have to request and receive a special license. Most likely it won't affect hardware, as they probably source hardware within China. It will affect software more, if they use any US owned patents or IP.

Hi, I need help with my dji mini 2, just buy it 2 months ago and used one time or 2, but yesterday I did 3 hours to try to connecting the remote and the drone, it’s was not possible, it’s just connect to the phone in photos gallery... please help me ... I am almost about to hit that drone on the wall or in the ground

By digging more I found that still dji can be sold in america and it only restricts is tech for dji and this is prolly due to lack of evidence aganist us claims

Yeah. Essentially the US government is making it harder for DJI to do business by blocking US companies from exporting components to DJI. They’re not blocking the sale of DJI products in the US. Just making DJI’s life more difficult which could affect pricing and availability to consumers.

Privacy issues. Everything you do on your iPhone is uploaded to DJI servers. You can’t use their drones or associated app without agreeing to the terms. Got rid of my mavic pro.

But the Huawei app are still available on app store and google apps and I don’t think DJI used any parts from USA so this is pointless

No. I don’t think anything like that will come of this. They’re just making it harder for DJI to do business as punishment for their “human rights violations” cited in the sanctions.

I'm not buying any dji now. Why spend 1000.00 on a drone just for them to be shut down here. And then can't use it. Another stupid move by the new government we got.
