I Really wanted the Mavic 3 Pro but my budget necessitated the Mini 2 SE. I have actually been very impressed with it's performance for the price. It replaced our drone which was a much loved original Mavic Pro that still works well.
So glad you’re happy with the mini 2 se. I agree that it has been more than I had anticipated. I never thought I could step down from my Mavic 3 but most times it’s nice not bringing that drone with me all the time. Keep that for work stuff only now
Super video Drew...Watching here in Ireland. In my opinion DJI released both the original Mini 2 with 4K and the Air 2s too highly spec'd out of the box and limited their flexibility to offer future models with significant upgrades. The Mini 2 SE's interduction I feel is to kill off the Mini 2 4K so they can push the Mini 3 as a significant upgrade over the Mini 2 SE only running 2.7K. In terms of the Mavic 3 and the Air 2s the casual hobby flyer will be hard pushed to see any significant picture quality between both drones.....again highlighting how good the Air 2s was out of the box. Hey just my opinion keep up the good work. Jay 46 Ireland.
Hey Jay! So glad to hear you saw this over in Ireland 🙏🏻 I think you might be right in some way. There definitely feels like an “analysis paralysis” when it comes to comparing the mini drones. I wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped a few of them. Probably testing out which ones the market is enjoying. So far it’s been the cheap alternative to my more expensive drone that I’ve been looking for. I’ve used my friends air 2s and I was floored by it! I’ll definitely check out your page. Cheers!
I'm also Irish. I've flown both the Air 2S and the Mavic 3. My own experience was that there was a substantial difference in all lighting conditions with the Mavic 3. The photos and video have much more impact and detail (although both drones have their own quirks). I traded the Air 2S in for most of the cost of an RC Pro. And I greatly appreciate the relatively lower pitch of the Mavic 3 in flight, the improved precision landing and the greater wind resistance (which is definitely more than DJI's stated value for both drones).
Ooops....completely forget to mention that 'torture tests' do reveal that the Air 2S's camera does deal with detail better than the Mavic 3 in some respects. But I would not revert back from the Mavic 3.
@@CaminoAir hey! So cool to jeer everyone’s feedback and experience with these drones. Certainly is validating. I agree with everything you have laid out! Do you share your photos / videos anywhere?
Gimbal does suffer from wind on all them small drones especially those sudden gusts just when you want to capture something interesting, happened a few times on my mini 3 pro, that mavic 3 is very good but a bit too noisy and noticeable sometimes pity they left 50fps max on the 5.1k though, should of been at least 60fps you need higher frame rates for drones especially when you yaw otherwise have to go very slow, but given the price it will have to do.
Yeah I never remembering this issue on my phantom. My mavic seems to hold up fine but I don't think I will plan to use my mini much if the wind is 15-20mph or greater
Hey there! This is a great question - the big difference between the two Mini 2 - $449 -4K video Mini 2 SE - $339 -2.7k Video Other than that they’re basically the same drone!
I think it’s totally worth it in my opinion. I’m super impressed by how the drone handles and the photos and videos I have already taken. Keep an eye out for some more videos on it coming probably tomorrow and Friday 👍🏻
Yes in many ways they are very comparable when it comes to what images you can produce With regards to the performance of the drone physically - the mavic 3 is a Porsche and the mini 2 se is a Honda accord 😅🙏🏻
Great questions, I am headed to Italian Riviera! I may actually buy one after getting the Mini 2 SE. I had credit on DJI store and it made it less than $300 which felt like a steal. Do you have the mini 3? I bet it is awesome
I do. I had the original Mavic but it… uh… took a swim. I bought the Mini 3 Pro and love it. It’s going to be coming with me to Iceland in a few weeks. I’m a little nervous about the winds, but we will see how it does. I think the Mavic 3 Classic is in my near future. Not great for abroad, but domestically I think it’s a more capable platform.
@@AndrewHouser if you place yourself in the right locations for the shot you can definitely get these little drones to get the shot. I look forward to seeing what you post if your trip!
This is definitely something you can find but to be honest I’d have to do some more research. What other brands have you considered? Have you also considered a custom built drone?
