don't ditch your pro yet til you're satisfied with the range where you fly with the Air. I'm not getting the same range at all here in SF/Oakland where RF is crazy busy. I did sell my Spark though :-)

THANK YOU!! THE most thorough step-by-step introduction I've seen. Can't tell you the number of days I searched and tried to figure out how to charge the controller....only to learn from you that there was an adaptor. My adaptor had slid out of sight in the box and I about went nuts trying to figure it out. Great video, no nonsense, no watching a 20 minute vlog to get to the content with over exaggerated reactions. Helps a lot, got my Mavic Air Flymore combo for 500 CAD used today. Has never been crashed, only 50 minutes of flight time, original stickers and plastic are still on some of the parts and batteries are all working. So stoaked, was going to buy a Mavic Mini but having the extra weight because where I am wind is a big issue and having all features of the air I couldn't be happier for the price, it's almost brand new.

Bought this phone had 2 flight then control stopped charging...thanks to Costco's great return I got another....now the second one took over sixty percent to connect and all other bs to down load now ....it took me an hour for this piece...of sh..t to connect...now 40 percent later I cant fly...wow how fun....this is always..have to update...a person pays that much out it should be simpler....this guy doesn't mention this in his video....I'm sure he is being paid not too

Excellent video. Just got my Mavic Air. I had one problem setting up the drone. It asked for a password for the Mavic Air. I used the password I had with DJI...nope. Then I proceeded to use every password I have ever used....nope. WTF. Called DJI and actually talked with a human in just a couple of minutes. He told me the password was on the battery. Looked all over the battery...NOPE. Finally looked in the battery compartment and there was that little stinker. It 's actually on the outside of the drone too. The other surprise was the "quiz". Got them all and passed that little surprise.

Biggest problem I have experienced is the Glare from the Sun, very difficult to see the phone or tablet you are using to navigate. (period) AND I HAVE ALL THAT ANTI GLARE STUFF.

Really great tutorial - however my remote wasn't paired to my drone, which complicated things when I went out to fly and couldn't figure out why my controller wouldn't control. It would be nice if there was a little more information on the whole remote/drone pairing... perhaps this is obvious and common knowledge to everyone, but the whole idea is this is a beginner beginner and well... I have to go and troubleshoot pairing now (which seems to be giving me the funny business).

Hi there Jeven! Thanks so much for this excellent easy to watch and understand tutorial. We have just bought the Mavic Air (were on a 3 week back order wlist at DJI) and when we got it there were multiple software errors which made the Mavic unable to fly. DJI have asked us to return it and will replace the entire order (seems to be a good service, so far). Hopefully we will get a new one within a week so we can begin putting into action what we have learnt here! Thanks again for this tutorial! We really enjoy your vids! Maybe this is a silly question but does anyone know anything about the “wifi” settings? I’ve never had a drone before so trying to figure this out. Does my phone need to be connected to wifi to fly? If I take the drone out of the country and I don’t have cell phone service will I still be able to use the app and fly or do you have to have cell service to fly? Help please!! Thanks!!

looks like a solid drone... So why it is so sensitive for some interference??? I bought this for trip to Hawaii and it didn want to start at the boat!!! I force it and almost lost it... It got crazy right after took off... Than I took it on Stairway to heaven and it didnt start there too!!! I says "cannot take off and thats it... I was to disappointed!!! My P4P would not have any issues to fly in those situations!!!

question: i used to have a phantom pro 3. I dont have it anymore due to one "feature" that killed my drone. i was above a lake and i was messing around with the drone and I must have pulled the joysticks down and inward for a few seconds and it killed the motors. thus the drone crashed. does this new drone do that as well? or is that no longer a "feature" thanks !

Extremely helpful intro to the MA controller and it's functions. Is it possible to open this app on a smartphone without either the aircraft or RC turned on so as to be able to get a grip on all the controls? There's a lot going on there as you say, it would make sense to me to be able to do this without having to turn everything on and run the batt down. Great tutorial.

Jeven, this is an excellent tutorial as my Mavic Air is new to me. BUT... I could only fly it once, using my LG K20 smartphone. That was great, as the drone itself is fantastic. Then it would not recognize the controller and always asks for compass calibration, even in middle of a large field. Very frustrating. So (doubting the Android shit) I exchanged the LG for an iPhone 6s. DJI recommends ONLY iPhones. Great issues getting the GO 4 software, from iStore however... Apple really sucks at that! . Have you encountered these kind of problems? Wish we could just connect drone/controller every time and fly!

Hey Jeven, Longtime listener, first time caller. What if I DO NOT want to record to my (basic) android phone? It has lousy memory already. What is the purpose of buying a high speed Class 10 64GB card for my Mavic Air? How do I record straight to my drone and NOT to my phone? Thank you in advance. :-)
