Never had a drone been thinking about it for a long time and jumped for the mini 2. Absolutely love it. Having never flown one before it felt comfortable enough to just fly it and mess around without feeling terrified.

A complete sensible needed review at the moment. Thanks to this superb review which made me to feel more confident about the purchase..!! I'm from India and a lot of blogs says that ranges are affected due to FCC and CE. Does Mavic Mini 2 also has such problem like buying it from US and flying it in India has any restrictions ? And is there any restriction to carry Mavic Mini 2 from US to India (or anywhere through flight) ? Because I dont want to lose the Drone due to that, which costs me heavily. Thanks a mil for this video... was waiting for it. Nice features but my purpose of simply sending it up for a selfy video or picture during my motorcycle touring trips... the one I have is all I need. So I'll save my money.... but still can't wait for the day we get a portable drone like this that doesn't requiring using my iPhone... hate having to hook that up. I just want to pull over, send up, take a pic, land... and move on. Built in monitor maybe one day. JMO.

Does the controller have a usb c cable for usb c phones? Great vid!

What are your thoughts on the motor cap guards for the mini? I've heard that they are good at blocking dust and debris but they sometimes cause signal interference with the drone because they are aluminum. I've ordered the mini 2 and was wondering if there are any problems with the caps on it. Thank you.

I have been wanting a DJI drone for about three years now and I was originally going to try to get a DJI spark but apparently those are no longer available so I looked into the DJI mini and discovered there’s a DJI mini two, I looked at the price difference and $100 isn’t that crazy of a price jump. Great video. I have an unopened mini fly more and am on the fence to exchange for mini 2. The fly more is $150 addl and the drone is $50 addl. $399 vs $599. A lot of new features though. I’m a new user so thinking the fly more is needed. Tough decision.

Does Mavic Mini propeller guard fit on mini 2

OcuSync 2.0 was what wanted but I get better range and reception with my M1 with a set of parayagi-uda, 3500m in high wifi interferenceareas and 6000m plus in rural areas. Better satellite reception is really a bonus, I can usually get 19 in Alberta but a couple of times I had to wait quite a while to just get 9 or 10. Also with better/more satellites does that mean precision landing?

I sold my mini mavic because mainly of wifi connection was really bad in urban areas. I when and got mini 2 and as soon it took off I notice and increase of instability and better handling. I also saw a big difference on transmission signal . I also like how easy is to put your phone into the rc remote bracket . I know the video quality n pics and other features are not goin to get near my mavic 2 pro but for the features mini 2 has and its performance i have to say is outstanding 👏 👌 👍 and by the way mini 2 is like bullet when you put on sport mode so if your looking to upgrade it is a great great opportunity 👍

This may be a stupid question, but can u buy mini 2 propellers for the mavic mini? Or are they not interchangeable

Ok..so I upgraded from the original mini to the mini 2. I live in the country, and I can attest the the increase in range. About 3 times the range. It's much faster too. With the original I got about 29 to 32 mph. The mini 2 goes about 36 to 37 mph. The camera is a bit better. It still struggles in the wind, bit does a lot better than the original. The upgrade was worth it for me. I fly as a hobby when I'm bored...

You can fit more in the original Mavic Mini case, not a ton, but I definitely store a set of 6 ND filters right on top of the battery hub in their small case, without issue. I also keep spare memory cards under the hub. There’s also a spot under the remote control where typically extra parts are stored, that you could store something small. Plus, from appearance, the Mavic mini case seems much sturdier and more durable than the new soft bag.

Can you please test if the prop guards from Mavic Mini are compatible with Mini 2?

Per the manual it takes 4 hours to charge the 3 batteries. I changed mine, which shipped empty, and it took at least 4 hours. Seems significantly slower to me.

Great comparison between these two drones. If the 249 gram weight limit isn't important to you, I would recommend the Mavic Air 2, mostly because it's camera is much better.

Occusync is pretty much the only reason to get a mini over mini 2. And I think it’s totally worth it because of dependable connection and range.

I would love to upgrade my Magic Mini to the new one. Don't get me wrong, I love my Magic Mini but you are right that the updates are well with it. Especially the 4k. Although the 2.7k on my Mini looks awesome.

If you bought the Mavic Mini and feel like you wish you had waited a few months to get this so called improved Mini 2 don’t beat yourself to death about it. I got my Mavic Mini back in April and have had tons of fun and great flights using it. This new version does have a few strong points like ocusync 2.0 and 4K video resolution but 2.7k video is extremely clear too! The battery life is really no difference.The controller has changed but if you have the original Mavic Mini it flies great too. Every year Apple comes out with a new phone just to make you feel the one you have from last year is outdated or not as good because of some cosmetic changes or whatever propaganda they feed you and if you let it consume your intelligence they win and you get sucked in and go trade off a perfectly good phone. The Mini 2 still only has bottom facing sensors for obstacle avoidance so there is definitely no improvement there and that should be one of the most important reasons to upgrade. If you wish to really upgrade get the Mavic Air 2! Yes there is a big difference in price but at least it’s a worthy upgrade. Until then enjoy your Mavic mini and don’t worry about the upgrade.

I got got a Mini 1 last February. I may get this next February because of these reasons. But so far the Mini 1 is good for my social media needs and when I go hiking the Mini 1 bundle fits in the lowepro drone backpack it came with. I like packing light these days. I may just get the base Mini 2 and just use Mini 1 batteries from time to time. We’ll see. Thanks

Thirty seconds in and let me just do the TL/DR version: just buy the Mini 2 fly-more kit. It is awesome! The range is excellent. Today was very windy and at an altitude of 400 ft there were gusts of over 35 mph. I flew today and although it was obvious the little thing was fighting the wind, it handled it fine! I gotta say, I am truly impressed with this thing!

Nice review. I will upgrade but waiting for the Mini 2 SDK to be released. As of today, Mini 2 is not supported on Dronelink nor Litchi, nor other flight controller apps.

I have both. I can probably fly about 150' from my home with the Mini one without having signal issues. A few miles away it's fine. The mini 2 has a much better signal, 4k, better controller, more flexibility with adjustments and you can use the smart controller. The only thing I use the original Mini for is practicing manual orbits, flying in reverse, reverse figure 8s, etc.. in the front yard.

I have a question, I don't have a lot of money to spend on that, I have a occasion to have a mini 1 really cheap, is the connexion is a real problem or it is ok for a first one, or it is definitly better thé avoid it ? (I don't mind 4K).

Would you do this upgrade now or wait till the mini 3 is out???????
