Don't you like how your Government likes to keep tabs on you. I have been flying R/C planes for over 60 years, and I'am sure as hell I'am not going along with this BS !!! .
@Gtotaku140 That's a good question. I guess I don't know. My guess would be yes, but again I don't know. I don't have a Mini 3 to try it in, but if you do you could try it and then check it with one of the apps like Air Sentinel and see if it is broadcasting RID. Just my $0.02 worth. Thanks for the comment. Be safe.
Thank you for clear explanation. So what if I used the PLUS battery only once on my Mini 3 (non pro) and then just use the small batteries will it keep broadcasting my RID even with small batteries just because I used the PLUS battery once?
@@caesar5555 No, The RID is only activated with the plus battery on the Mini 3 Pro and the Mini 3. Your good. Thanks for the comment. Have a great day!
@@dk4drones Thank you. With the PLUS battery the Mini3 RID is activated ONLY when it is inserted into the drone, otherwise it is not activated. Correct?
@@caesar5555With the Mini 3 the plus battery will broadcast RID only when it's inserted into the drone. That is correct. My bad. I said not in my comment 🥴 and corrected it. The RID is only activated with the plus battery on Mini 3 Pro, Mini 3, as well as the Mini 4 Pro. The Mini 3 Pro on the other hand will broadcast RID with either battery. Hope that helps. Again, thanks for the comment. Be safe.
Recreational pilots who fly drones of 250 grams or less are not required to comply with Remote ID. However, take note that the weight limit refers to the takeoff weight. Most sub-250-gram drones are close to that limit in their most basic configuration. Adding accessories like lights or propeller guards might take them over the limit. What happens when your drone goes a smidge over 250 grams? You must register it with the FAA, meaning it must fly under Remote ID rules. My Mini 2 is fine without RID
The Mini 3 Pro batteries are compatible with the Mini 4 Pro. However, the Mini 3 Pro batteries weigh slightly more and will put your Mini 4 Pro over 250g. Do you know if the Mini 4 Pro will automatically broadcast RID with the couple of extra grams of the Mini 3 Pro batteries?
I would have to say no, because the Mini 3 won't broadcast remote ID using that same standard battery. I don't have the M4P to test my M3P batteries in. I guess you could always try to get a hold of DJI support. They should be able to tell you if it does or doesn't. Thanks for the comment. Be safe.
The 4 pro will broadcast rid with the mini 3 batteries. But it won’t broadcast rid with the smaller 4 pro battery. So it broadcasts rid with the normal 3, 3 plus & 4plus but not with the normal 4 pro battery.
The whole battery weight issue of the different batteries and flopping back and forth on the 250 Gram crap had to of been fore seen some where along the line. Once again the Innocent consumer is left holding a bag of confusion.
@@GluedBarstool I just tested my Mini 3 Pro again using the Air Sentinel and Drone Scanner apps it Certainly Does broadcast RID with the standard battery. If you are asking if it does broadcast RID the answer is Yes. I took screenshots from both apps showing I am broadcasting RID using the standard battery. If you'd like I can send them. Hope this helps. Be safe.
Thanks for this information. I am still not convinced that DJI has the RID issue resolved on the Mini 3 Pro. This past week I spent a large amount of time on DJI chat and attempting to get RID working. Installed latest update of firmware. Still no detectable RID from the drone on Drone scan. I was asked to go out and try again. I launched the drone and hovered about three feet over the home point. No RID signal detected on Drone Scan. I then attempted to land the drone pulling back on the left stick. The drone would not respond and started to climb, I am still holding back on left stick. Drone rises and hits tree limb and crashes to ground. Gimbal damaged. Had to do an Express Refresh to get replacement Mini3 Pro. The drone was registered with FAA Drone Zone. Made calls to DJI and was told that the firmware would not allow the drone to take off if the RID was not transmitting. I am in total doubt about the entire thing. I used both the 249g battery and the Extended service battery. I am waiting for replacement to see what happens. Very dissatisfied.
Not a good thing with the crash 🤕and good you had the Care Refresh😅. After reading your comment, I checked my M3P with the std battery using the Air Sentinel app and it picked the drone up almost right away. I also checked it with the Plus battery, and it work there as well. Hopefully there was something wrong with the drone and all your issues will be gone with the new or replacement drone 🤞! Take care and be safe.
This is happening anyway and just recently. All I did was update the app. Same thing happened but I grabbed my drone before it could take off. Mine is the mini 2. It has nothing to do with remote ID. It’s something dji did.
@@terryshrives8322 These issues should definitely be reported to DJI. That's not cool if that's going on. If it's only certain drones, that makes it even worse. Thanks for the comment. Be safe out there.
I have heard the it matters what kind of phone you use. Can not speak to personal experience but heard that Drone Scan etc don't work either at all or well, depending on who you listen to on iPhones, but do with Android phones.
Are you implying that I am or that we are all sheeple on this issue? I've had no issues with my DJI Mini 3 Pro. I am just trying to explain the different ways the RID works with each given drone. Thanks
