DJI Mini 3 Unboxing and Comparison to The DJI Mini 2 SE 

Is it sad that I thought about also buying the mini 4? For your first drone I’m sure you will continue to love it. DJI has had the most reliable drones in my opinion. Glad to see others enjoying them too. Where you flying from my friend? 👍🚁✈️

I just got the mini 3. It DOESNT have waypoints or tracking. So if you are looking to use them do the 2SE.

@@The-Drone-Guy yup. There is no availability at this time for the 3. And possibly won’t be. It was a bummer to find that out after the fact, but such is life. lol. Still love the 3 and don’t mind just flying it without the bells and whistles!! Great little drone

Get the 2 SE, you can feel safe that at that budget you will not have any buyers remorse and have a LOT of fun with your drone. DJI makes really sweet shit man.

Hey Tim~! You have to order it through the DJI store sometimes in order to get the mini 3 and RC controller together without needing the fly more combo. I have two mini 3 with screen one is refurbished and I use that remote for my mavic three and its nice having a spare battery and ultimately backup drone that shoots 4k. You will love messing around with the snaptain drone its so dang tough too! You can crash it a thousand times which feels like a nice change of pace - Cheers!

@The-Drone-Guy thank you. I just walked in the door. Sam's didn't have the right ScanDisk for video. Best Buy assured me I could use the ScanDisk Extreme Plus 256 GB, 4K UHD, A2, U3, even though the Plus was not listed for 256 GB on DJI's site.

@@cowboygeologist7772 yes I can also agree that memory card will work perfectly with this drone. If you look closely the memory card should say V30 on it. That indicates it’s a fast enough card for the high quality photo and video. I have these cards. Great as they don’t fill up as quickly!

Hey there! May I ask what you plan to use them for? I’d say this decision is almost always down to your budget. If your goal is to get a great budget friendly from the mini 2 Se is amazing. For a few hundred dollars more the mini 3 will have a much longer battery life and shoot in slightly higher quality video. It can also shoot vertically so if you want to share videos that orientation you don’t lose quality. Both drones have the same safety features such as return home - but do not have any obstacle avoidance outside of the two sensors used for take off, landing and hover. Both us the most recent transmission from DJI and I have been able to fly both over 3 miles away with ideal conditions. Either way you can’t go wrong. The perfect travel buddy for anyone looking to capture greatness. Hope this helps!

You will not be disappointed! I have so much experience and it is so much fun for me to fly. Even though I have much better drones I always enjoy flying my mini 2 se. It’s my go to travel drone as well. Captured some of the most amazing footage for me in Italy

@@everydaydrone wow thanks so much that means a lot. The mini 2 se is just shy of having the exact same photo/video capabilities as my original phantom 4 pro. I paid $1,500 for that drone but it was my flagship drone for 5-6 years helping my business take off. So don’t worry just yet. You’ll see how great the drone is and I’m sure you will be happy!

Yes! Same thing as this one but with two more batteries and a charging cable. Intelligent flight batteries as well

First off, you're in the right place because those are probably the three best budget drones out there. The standard mini 3 does not have active tracking and the reason is because it also does not have the obstacle avoidance needed to support that kind of function. If it means anything, the active tracking feature is the one I use the least as I have it on my Mavic 3. It also isn't a bad thing to learn to fly on a drone that does not have obstacle avoidance so that you can learn situational awareness and manual maneuvers. Lastly, the biggest difference I see is the mini 2 se having a 2 axis gimbal vs the mini 3, 3+, and 4 pro have a three axis gimbal. This allows for vertical shooting and a more durable gimbal design over all. My vote, if you're trying to stay within a budget but get something that has some features, us the mini 3. Better battery life as well which is nice for new flyers. I have two and love them! Hope this helps either way you cannot go wrong. Enjoy and definitely let me know which one you decide to go with!

@@The-Drone-Guythat is the most helpful comment yet! Answers do many questions I was searching for. So really is not worth getting the 3 pro. I thought the feature would be nice but I can also just learn to fly it stable and be fine. Only other question is the remote. Is it really worth spending $100+ more to get the controller with the screen? I would use this front occasionally so phone would probably be fine for me. Mini 3 is sounding like a good option. I would rather buy nicer option so I don’t need to upgrade later on.

Yes, as my mavic 3 has all the bells and whistles one can ask for. I figured this drone is also one more people would be buying and this interested in content. Can’t wait to try the vertical shooting at the Nubble especially 😂 And no she doesn’t have her license yet but she sure is a dedicated assistant 🐈

First in July when it was typically overrun with gawkers and then in the fall when we were able to just sit and watch the wave and the birds. I did a bit of video with my iPhone and gimbal just for the fun of it. Love Nubble and Portland Head for different reasons. Each has it’s own very special place in my heart.
