Today DJI released a firmware update for the Mini 4 Pro and the Air 3. I have made a full firmware video going over all the newly updated features. One of the biggest updates for the Mini 4 Pro is compatibility with the DJI Goggles 2 and Goggles Integra as well as the RC Motion 2 controller. In this video, I am taking the DJI Mini 4 Pro out for my very first flight with the new firmware to see how it performs with the DJI Goggles and Motion 2 controller.

Great demo. DJI slowly releases new firmware updates so that people who are interested have to buy additional gears one after another.

It's a great way to fly if its super sunny or you are getting close to objects. You can see better in the goggles vs. using the RC.

I'm glad they finally added this feature to the Mini 4 Pro, there have been many requesting this, almost since the day the Mini 4 Pro was released. Nice test flight, it seemed to perform well, I have tried using the goggles and motion 2 with my Mini 3 Pro last summer with no issues. Great video, and thanks for sharing.

Great video as usual! I was wondering if you noticed an improvement in the transmission range over the mini 3 pro with the google. I have the integra with the mini 3 pro and the range could be better when there are some trees. So im wondering if its the google that are upgraded to o4, or if it is the drone that down grade to o3 when pairing them together.

Seriously... what's the hold up on that? I would've gladly given them my money for a set of goggles, but since i cant use it with the RC, i also can't justify paying that much to be limited to the motion controller.

Same here. I'd love to use my M4P with goggles, but NOT the motion controller. Is it possible to get an HDMI feed out of the RC2 and into some non-DJI goggles? I can feel another rabbit hole approaching...

@@skf957 - The DJI RC2 supports HDMI out through the USB-C port so you can output to other goggles that support HDMI in. The original DJI Goggles will work.

@@dortmunder27xxx - Only the newer Goggles 2 & Goggles Integra are compatible. You also need the Motion Controller 2. Flying with the Goggles & standard RCs is not supported. I recommend the Integra/MC2 Combo.

Thanks for the demo. Have you done any range tests with the goggles to compare to the RC2? I'd like to get an idea of signal transmission strength and am not looking to have weak signal issues that disconnect the aircraft. Thanks in advance.

Thank god they finally did the update, I bought the Mini 4 Pro, a week after it came out, with the assumption, that it was already compatible, with the Integra goggles and Motion 2 Combo. Since my Mini 3 Pro was compatible, I just assumed the 4 would be also. Now I can finally sell my Mini 3 Pro lol.

Mine says "Not using bound device" also and the wheel on the side doesn't seem to move the camera up or down . I bought the motion 2 controller for my DJI FPV but when I found out it wasn't compatible, I kept it for my mini 4 pro hoping some day they would give an update for it to and that day finally arrived.

Quick question for you. Do you recommend the goggles over the regular controller from a flight perspective? I’m debating spending $700 US on an Avata with goggles 2 and motion controller but with the intent of using the googles on my MP4. Any thoughts?

Great video. I teach drone at a high school and we just received the min 4 pro and now we are ordering the goggles but with out the hand held controller. We fly racing drones with a 2 stick rc controller and want to keep the same “feel” . I noticed as you were flying over some trees that are probably 20 feet or more high, the Height on the screen was some where around 2 meters. Can that be calibrated so the altitude is correct? Thank you

For me I think that understanding and getting to know the switches on the motion controller are the issue. I have a Mini 4 Pro, and the Avata 2 being out is yet another attraction to getting and trying FPV. Don’t know anyone who flies FPV so I can’t try it out. Will have to go for the simulator. Plus need to decide on getting the Avata 2 Fly More combo and have them all. Thanks for the post!

So that's very cool, but you didn't demonstrate a feature that the mini three has which is the ability to fly in one direction, using the joystick motion controller and being able to look anywhere you want with your goggles by tilting your head left and right up or down at the same time (head tracking)...so is that feature available on this and I assume that it is, but you didn't go over it, or I missed it... Thanks!!

Vry well done! excellent video, is there perhaps a way of avoiding flocks of birds? To not get in their way as your flying? I had an encounter that made my drone fall the other day due to it's influence, was asking myself if there's a way of getting the birds to stay clear of the drone (a signal, change of color. or something similar)... thanks keep it up!

Shawn I just bought the goggles 2 and it will not operate without phone hookup. I get remote Id error. I have the Mini 4 pro and updated all the firmware on all devices. What am i missing? I can live with the battery hook up but I may return this set because to many cords.

Wanted to ask as I am considering getting the goggles, and Morin controller: Is it interchangeable as I work to transition to the goggles? Never-ever used VR goggles AT ALL. So my concerns are can I mix trying to figure out all the setting for flying my Mini 4 Pro with them, to be able to just pick up my RC2 and go back to regular flying? (E.G. I just tried to fly my mini 4 with integra. Am i right, that in case flying with the goggles there is no way to change the recording to D-LogM or HLG? Moreover only 4K 60 or 1080 60 is available. The framerates is somthing i can understand since the image tranmitted must be the same framerate that is recorded an 60 is the better transmittionoption for a smooth flight. But for instance the avata can shoot cinelike-D so i thought DLogM on mini 4 will work as well. Or am i doing something wrong?

I guessing they disabled the goggles with the rc controller so they could sell the motion controller. Once they've spld enough, they'll probably make them compatible.

I have the mini 3 pro with the Integra googles . My drone won’t start unless I hook my goggles up to my app on the phone . Once launched I can unplug the phone. Any ideas why ??

Yes, it would work very well another one you may want to consider is the Avada that’s probably one of my all-time favorite FPV drones from DJI. It is super easy to fly and can capture incredible content.

Unfortunately, with these goggles, you have to use the controller. I think there is a way around it, but it’s not officially supported by DJI.

It is not recommended by DJI and doesn’t work without applying a hack. Personally, I don’t recommend it. I’m hoping DJI makes it official sometime down the road.

I believe it has something to do with your account and warranty coverage...

Indeed, as mentioned, it’s to do with flyaway coverage. You should always bind to the account before you fly in case something happens and you can’t retrieve the drone.

You get loose lenses with the dji integra and the goggles 2 have diopters build in. Glasses don't fit.

They’re not for everybody when it comes to flying camera drones they’re obviously needed for FPV so it’s a hard question to answer. I only use them once in a while with my camera drones. But it is fun and interesting experience.
