At night, the best way to maximise light into the sensor is to turn off stabilisation, shoot in 24 or 25 FPS and manually set your shutter speed to 1/25 or its lowest setting. This isn’t going to work well if you’re performing an action. It’s really just for mounted shots or vlogging. Hope this helps 🤘🏽

Why do you have way more "setting guides" for the GoPro than for the Osmo Action 3? I would really love to see more settings. Especially for underwater stuff. Cheers Manuel

In this case, i will take the settings shown and recommended in your gopro Videos and simply use kinda the same for the Action 3 and see how it turns out. Just recently saw your drone Video. Great stuff too. Maybe you can create more of these. And... what I would like to see... in case you are using any for the drones as well for the Action 3 or GoPro.. a Video about the use of CPL and ND filters/lenses. That would be great. I love the way you show the difference in the footage. A 1:1 comparison like you did with the settings and 1080 flat color profile to 4k with different frame rates.. that was great!
Thanks. One of the best reviews on the Osmo Action 3: I bought mine recently and it exceeded every expectation. I was astounded at it's Rock Steady function which makes it almost glide like a steadicam or a drone. The lush, rich colours were another surprise. One of the best gadgets I own.
@@eliteshinobeyt7004 Hello. The battery life runs up to about 160 minutes which is very good. The 'photos are very detailed and beautifully coloured, just like the iPhone: it has lush, rich colours. For close-up photographs the iPhone is better because it can pick more intricate details at a close distance and can adjust focus. There is no focus adjustment on the Osmo Action 3. I hope that answers your questions well. I love the camera.

It takes beautiful, detailed and colour-rich 'photographs, like the iPhone. But for close-up photographs the iPhone is better at sharper with detail. The iPhone has focus control, the Osmo Action 3 doesn't. Overall an amazing camera.
@@jackspring7709thank you so much man im actually purchasing this for mtb and my trips to various islands across the world and the go pro’s kinda expensive i actually have an iphone 15 too the simple one so ig its a better deal to go for the dji action as it’s more rugged than an iphone for the underwater filming i suppose

Very helpful video, but as a old technology challenged person, you might want to mention in order to make the Mimo editing work, you have to load the video clip files onto your phone... lol I know you young people would just say duh... but if you watch your video not knowing you'd think they were just there as soon as you connected the osmo 3 to the app. :) Or am i still confused ?

It's clear to me that DJI has been pushing the release date and a few more updates will be necessary before the camera settles down. Hello. I am a total newbie to video cameras. I appreciate this video from you for beginners with the DJI Action 3. My husband bought my DJI for me this last Christmas and I've been too afraid to use it. I am an artist and want to use my DJI for filming my art/painting tutorials which will mostly consist of my camera following my hands working on my canvasses. Do you have any suggestions for settings of me painting in front of a large wall with canvas on it, or canvas sitting on a surface and one edge along the base of my wall easel? I've never shot a video of my painting practices in my life, I really need some help! This old lady is LOST. Thank you.
I got this camera...and had the hardest time getting to the CONNECT section on my galaxy android phone....I had to do it over 5 times...then I had to fill out a form to get an account...then I had problems, cause I didn't want to give out personal info..then I had more problems , cause MIMO wanted me to download a file that may harm my phone .... after going this maze of probs.....my bluetooth on phone, wouldn't connect to the camera..and I couldn't use the camera untill i got registered and accepted the download that was harmful to my phone I think I got it installed and upgraded..but my camera disconnects from the phone app, at 8 ft apart...strange..I am trying to figure this out.. I've watched your videos with Drones and you seem to have no probs with distance connections.. THANK U for taking the time, to produce this beginners tutorial vid....I will play with these settings after I get this connection issue sorted.
Great video mate, a lot of your video is very in details and love the way you express and interpret it. But I'm still confused should I go for gopro 9 or dji action 3? Wat u suggest for short clips selfies n picture. Thxx
it's completely up to you mate, both cameras offer great features, if you want more options for photo modes i would go with GoPro however if you want 10-bit video (which is coming soon but not yet available) think the action 3
Thanks for this guide! I just got the Action 3 so it's useful. Question, with the new firmware available, would you recommend HDR or Enhanced Image Quality for cinematic and other presets you created? I'm still unsure if the new Enhanced Image Quality is also 10bit.
Could you please make a new video with the latest Osmo Action 3 Firmware updates. The new included HDR and Cine-like 10-Bit color, what would change up with some of these settings?
You said you like do videos in 4K as you post in RU-vid? Will it not make the FILE SIZE too BIG? Can you tell me, if you do 1 min video in 1080p and 4k what the file size is in both case. What different it will make of you do it as 1080p Vs 4K? who watch RU-vid in 4k? Because it will eat up all their mobile data.
Hi Anna and Jake. I hope all is doing well for both of You. Thx for sharing your expertise. As I told you I have a full Gopro10 package with a bunch of accessories. Actually I do think to view videos relating Beginners Guide for all action cameras can be VERY helpful….for beginners because you always do a bunch of remarks/reminders/beside comments/recommendations about VLOG/Points of View/Cinematic settings, Editing and so on, which do apply whatever the camera you have. 🙃In fact the presentation of your videos perfectly illustrates your mastery for the realization and the assembly of the videos and the insertion of an appropriate background sound and therefore of an optimal use of an action camera whatever the functionality. So I did start by reading some about DJI Osmo Action 3 and did realize this is also interesting to know about the others even if there is no need/desire to buy a new cam. Your analyze of the User Interface provided for DJI Action 3 did make me to think about revisiting some that one I have with the Gopro which is a good point actually. 😉
Very nice job in starting us out however maybe you should just show us how to turn it on and take some basic pictures and film. All those settings tend to confuse older people like me lol. Btw the plant to your right I was looking closely at it. Has it ever bloomed? I believe it’s in the family what we call NIGHT BLOOMING CERUS. Yes only blooms at night, only last for one night. The most I’ve ever had in one night was 22 on three different plants. My dad started them somewhere around 45 years ago.

Brilliant, Thank you mate. NB Question. A setting I cant find. On my action 1 I am able to set the camera to take a photo every 2 seconds. It works brilliantly on a selfie stick and gives you heep of photos to choose from. But no where in the Action 3 can I find this?? - Am I missing something ? Kindly help please

Just a question though... been seeing more and more youtube reviews popping up where bloggers/reviewers were flagging the focus issue on the new DJI Action 3. Did you or are you also encountering this issue? Hope you could let us know in your tests
Hi Winston, I guess if you didn't pick up on any of the shots in this video being out of focus neither have we. From our experience the camera works just fine and as we'd expect from an action camera. No issues or problems that we've noticed from our end. Cheers
Ordered my Action 3 Adventure Combo the other day (its my mothers day gift)! Hoping to get it by Mothers Day Weekend and get out and get some cool videos! We live in central Utah and we have beautiful scenery in every direction. Thanks so much for these tips and tricks so I can jump right in when the camera gets here. I am stoked!!
Good to know.. i learned something today. One quick question. Do you think it will work if i mount my action camera to a gimbal? Like GoPro to feiyutech ak2000s?
We don't recommend using a gimbal for any new action camera, the stabilisation on the GoPro 7 is so good that it doesn't really need to be further stabilized :)
Excelente vídeo.. Saying that I am worried.. I have no experience with this type of cameras I just bought a osmo action 3 adventure combo like the 9ne dji has sent you... I con3ted to the phone and have upgraded the 10bit new firmware I believe v01021010 some difficult in connecting to android phone but finally got it done... Saying that I am worried about this focus issue that ever happened his talking about.. My build his September 2022.. I will be doing some filming this weekend and putting your settings as you illustrated... Saying that I have subscribed will be seeing moore of you videos and also apologize for any spelling mistakesi left UK a long time ago and it's not everyday I write english.. Wish you well
1:40 what does the 5 attempts mean? When I bought mine, I was trying to connect with my Samsung Note 9 Mimo app, but it was unable to find the camera and connect it. Then. Downloaded the new Mimo app, from WiFi setting Stopped mobile data as instructed. Still not connecting. Found some solution from internet. So got one old Android phone Samsung S7 edge, downloaded the new Mimo app and it connected automatically. My cam was the 2023 version and came with updated Firmwire already. But I was Freaked out at first when I was unable to connect the phone and it's saying 4 attempts left? What does that mean. If someone unable to connect in 5 attempts, will it be useless?
