@@zakyanwar22 This is why I always search for the leaks. I knew about it few weeks ago. GoPro 12 is coming next month, then I'll decide which one to buy. But honestly, the Action 4 is very compelling right now.
It sucks that the Osmo Action 4 can't be used until you go through an activation process with the DJI app installed on the smartphone. You're out of luck if your phone is not on the approved list. You can only skip this step 5 times, before you're blocked out. If there is a way around this, I would love to know about it.
In a perfect world...yt reviewers should always give credit, not bash, to whatever product....regardless of brand.... that created the product/category in which they are reviewing. In this case, GoPro. Yes they have issues but if not for GoPro this category would not exist.
Just ordered one. Had it with GoPro's issues, and the fact you can't stream to your phone while recording. Ver important when mounting on the bumper of my jeep when off roading.
I think I would have liked more information on the camera and not the other people you were showing. Can you use the same battery as the Action 3? Thanks in advance for answering. Cheers!
Hello. If I have to choose in terms of still image quality (wide angle selfies, landscape etc.), which one will be better GP Hero 11 or DJI Osmo Action 4? Thanks in advance!
I recently saw reviews stating and proving the factory settings in low light the video is very "noisy". Now I'm confused whether GP12 is better overall pic😢😢😢😢
@@AuthenTech hey just so you know there was no hate!! I mean it! I loved everything about the video except that the Action 4 is out since I just bought my 3. Hahahahahaha
Does it have good performance in night recording or in very low light? And, most importantly for me, does DJI still not include the AEB photo mode that the original Osmo Action (Osmo Action 1) had?
Whats the different between charging case of action 3 to 4? In germany the case of action 4 costs 40 euro more then the older one. Is the case of action 4 really better?
Dji osmo action is the reason for dumping GoPro freezing camera.😂😂😂😂... Adding features for this dji is at low light and larger sensor.feel sorry a little bit for the oa3 user.hehe..
@@AuthenTech GoPro is consistent for freezing camera issue and expensive accessories. Example dji horizon steady is free but in GoPro you need to buy max lens mod for horizon lock.hahahaha... They're losing the battle for action camera.haha..😂
Bro you forgot the Biggest Update. its large Sensor in Low Lights is a Beast. Anyway Hope to get Sponsored in DJI too. i got nearly 1m View on tiktok with DJI Action 3 but sadly still few Follower so i guess it will not, Hoping atleast replace my 3 with 4 cause i really like the Night Shot on this camera and less distortion in Wide Shots. I also shot my DJI action 3 in crazy storm with strong wind while doing bike well its just short video in DJI 3.
@@robbikeventureph.8908 My 9 and 11 never freeze, dunno what you are talking about. Pretty sure my 9 still has better video quality than this 4 too...
no mention of AF in dji website, meaning still a fixed focus lens? how come these dedicated camera makers cant keep up with smartphone makers? most recent apple and samsung flagship phones already were able to install ultrawide camera lens and sensors with autofocus, and these dedicated cameras cant have it? come one dji.
Ben, Does the DJI Action 4 still have infuriating 4gb file size limit? Thanks, as always, for the fantastic video. I have bought every DJI pocket and action camera and love them all. But I gave up on all of them for the infuriating 4 GB file size limit have. did they solve that and do they now allow you to record Larger video files? - Eric ZORK Alan & Sweetie [ Professional Poets & Bed Vloggers ]
@@kellyfrom98 thanks 🙏 much. I got a couple other confirmations that it can do up to 17gb files . I just hope DJI updates firmware for Action 3 to support this. After giving DJI money for EVERY SINGLE Action and Pocket product, I refuse to give them ANOTHER $400+ simply to eliminate this incredibly aggravating file size limitation. - Eric ZORK Alan & Sweetie [ Professional Poets & Bed Vloggers ]
Yes, due to the NDA the influencers sign they can’t post about it until the moratorium is lifted. That was at 9am east coast United States. They could post it earlier but would most likely not get demo units in the future and could open themselves up to legal action depending on what’s in the NDA. It’s pretty standard through many industries to operate new releases in this manner.
@@AuthenTech the action 3 has the focus calibration issue right? they gave it an update which bumped up sharpening. this is what i meant. i do get that action cameras dont have focus motors.
i didnt buy gopro. i went insta360 but yeah im asking a relevant question. not bashing. i like dji action. i waited for it from 1 (skipped the 2) waited for reviews for the 3 but got disappointed. yeah dont preorder and be a simp.
I know you mentioned at the beginning that this video is sponsored by DJI so of course they want you to talk about all the good but this video just doesn't seem as genuine as your other videos. Really hoping for an update comparison video where you feel free to give your honest opinions.
I've had the OA4 for a couple of weeks, and when front mounted on my helmet it's been fine (only do up to 100Km/h), and also on some pretty bouncey back roads. I wasn't event thinking about it after a few minutes. Note that whilst the magnetic mounting is awesome (I came from a GP7) with bike gloves on, be careful the two small grips have clicked in - just takes a short while to get the technique, but it's a thing. Also loving the front screen - I can quickly change settings looking in the mirrors.
Please tell me that they improved its ability to use a wired mic for motovlogging??? That was its critical flaw... Plugging in a LAV mic, even with the gain turned all the way down, would blow out the audio with distortion... Absolutely horrible... The only audio solution I found that worked, was the DJI wireless mic setup, but it was too many parts, clunky, and it fried when I got caught in the rain... Can you do a test to show a wired LAV mic plugged in, in a loud environment such as being on a motorcycle at highway speeds with loud exhaust and wind noise? haha It would sound fine sitting at a stop light, but as soon as I got over 30mph it was unusable, and that was with the LAV mic buried in the helmet out of the wind, and TWO wind socks on it...
@@AuthenTech I have tried about a dozen of them, no joke. Right now, I am on either a Road LAV II, or an xVive LV2 Pro... I went back and forth, and it was a matter of the DJI not allowing the gain to go down low enough... The Insta360 OneRS 4K that I am using at the moment, lets you go down to -18dB and it's good 99% of the time... If I put the gain closer to 0dB then it starts blowing out like the DJI did... It was a known issue with the Action 3, and wireless was the answer. The DJI wireless mic allowed -12dB on both the Tx and Rx, as well as the camera, so you could get it dialed in perfect. The problem was that on a helmet, now you have a camera, a cage with cold shoe mount, the Rx box, a USB cable from that to the camera, the LAV in the helmet plus the Tx box... It was really cumbersome to manage all that, and the first storm I got caught out in, it fried the $330 mic system. lol
Those who are thinking to buy this, STOP. Gopro is coming next month better image quality and 8k resolution. Pretty sure their slow motion will be way better than this chinese stuff. DJI is good but you are underestimating goPro. They still can't beat gopro in image quality
Great camera! Unfortunately not much has changed really. All improvements are great and very much needed to push & keep the industry evolving and I don't want to take away from that. This being said, here are some thoughts about some changes and things to consider if you are thinking about buying this: 1st - 18m waterproofness instead of 16m: great! I get that 18m is the standard depth limit for open-water diving and it's very cool that the camera is on par and can handle this. But the average person going for a dive often won't even reach 16m, and if they do, they're not gonna be like oh this is 16 or 18. If the person does, chances are high that she/he has a diving watch and is somehow invested in the sport and will eventually go even deeper than 18m and will need a case anyway. So just buy it 🤷 it's nice to have, but could've improved something more significant instead of this 2nd - Larger sensor: Obviously the major and best selling point for this newer version. Not much to say. It's good to see. 3rd - image quality which goes along with the sensor and was a major selling point for GoPro against Action 3 for many people! DJI stepped up their game and might even be on top now! 4th - The Action4 is obviously here to compete with the GoPro Hero11 & the coming Hero12. Yet, this camera still can't shoot 240fps @2,7 which I know doesn't bother many people (me included) but I've heard people complain about it on the Action 3 while the Hero11 already had it. At least with the Action4 it should be available. 2 generations behind GoPro. It's just a must. 5th - Selling a separate GPS Bluetooth Remote Controller for !€ 80,-! is a really low move from DJI, honestly... not much to be said really just disappointing. Just build it in like GoPro man, can't be that hard + it's not like you don't need to buy a ton of other accessories already anyways 🙄 DJI does have its advantages like the mounting, larger FOV, So, basically what I am trying to say is that the DJI Action4 is a very very minor upgrade from the Action 3 for all that price difference. This is GoPro's chance to really catch up since this is more like a Action 3.5!! If GoPro fixes their shutting down due to overheating or too cold environment, overall reliability and customer service + e.g. making a bigger sensor too, it'll get kind of tough for DJI tbh. Obviously or at least you would think so, they are gonna increase their prices too but it's not like DJI didn't anyways and if it's not as much as DJI did... 👀👀 I'd really consider the Action 3. And even if you still want the Action4 I'd wait anyways to see if they have other problems like the previous version did in the beginning or even wait for thee Hero12 to compare.
@@GemuTabi I know. I didn't say otherwise. I actually said that DJI is probably better than GoPro now & if you have the Action 3 it's probably not worth upgrading if you don't need that extra performance. The price increase is basically for the sensor only.
Could anyone please advise if DJI Osmo Action 4 has the same filter thread as Action 3? Wanted to know if I could use ND filters that are compatible with Action 3 with Action 4... Thanks
Yep. It really only the slightly bigger sensor and d-logM instead of d-cinelike. Overall not really a new iteration but instead a very small bump up. Disappointed that dji is going down the path of releasing a new camera each year. I’ve got the action 1,2,3. Definitely skipping this one and possibly the action 5 if DJI continues down this path.
Great video Thanks. I jumped to AO4 because its a much better camera. Also I wasn't impressed of Gp's underhanded tactics to cheat it's subscibers out of rollover payments (myself included) without any notification! Seems like dji will go from strength to strength in the future.
