It is probably quite obvious that I have NEVER used any equipment like this. I have two questions. Can you balance your iPhone if it has a case on it? I have not been able to accomplish this. And last, where do the videos go. I have made several and do not find them in the photo app or the DJIgo ap either? Feeling lame.
Hi Evan, thank you for the tutorial, just got my DJI Osmo Mobile 2, very excited about it! Just have to 2 questions, what's the best way to Charge the DJI Osmo when you first get it - I connected it to my computer, can i use an iPhone block and plug it into that and go direct to AC current? And is it necessary to take off my Otterbox case before mounting it to the Osmo? I shoot a lot with it handheld that's why i have a case - it could drop. I have read some app reviews that the permissions were ridiculous and the app comes with spyware. Can anyone elaborate? One app comment said the app wants permission to make calls on my behalf. My contacts are business related and private so that is a concern. I received the Mobile 2 for Christmas and would love to use it but it seems I need a second phone line to work around the permissions.
Hi Evan - great step-by-step instruction video for setting up this gimble. I just pick one up--probably a bit late--to shoot YT and IG stories. Hello! I just wanted to point out that the adjustment knob you highlighted at 3:00 was the different one that you used at 3:15. The knob at 3:15 is the correct knob to use for balancing. I'm still unsure of what the one you highlighted does and I actually stumbled across this video while trying to find an explanation for it!
I agree about the 'balancing' information. It just doesn't add and it seems worth correcting. I like your presentation and general technique but if you can't get the upfront 'balance' thing right away, it's frustrating.

Great video. One small thing in the balancing tutorial, you circle the wrong knob to be loosened. The one you circled is for changing the orientation of the camera. But there is only one slider so it wasn't hard to figure out. Thanks
Hello Evan. Thanks for the good instructional video. Perhaps others have addressed this (I didn't read all of your comments to find out), but I'm guessing the reason you may be getting the vibration issues with the motor is because you only adjusted the tilt axis and not the roll axis...at least that's what happened on the video. The roll-axis is when you place the camera face down and make adjustments until it remains flat (and doesn't roll). My apologies if you've already been alerted to this fact. If possible, you may want to add a flag to your video (if possible) alerting future viewers to the missing step in balancing the gimbal. Thanks again for your efforts!

would you recommend the osmo 2 to use with the standard pixel 3 video camera app? also, how does the audio come out when using a gimbal with a standard smartphone microphone as opposed to a separate mic?

WOW I've been going nuts trying to work out just how to get the active track icon to appear - all the video's tell you how to use it, but not this simple instruction. Learnt more easily from this video than the official one - thank you!
How easy is it to add videos to your iPhone camera roll when taking videos? Will they go automatic or do you have to click on them and send them. I’ll be in Disney and looking to take vlogs on rides and short clips outside rides before I get on. Just curious how this process works. Thank you
You make really good clips. Don't ask me why but in the last weeks of 2022, I decided to buy this camera! Only have one question: Considering it is going to be a long time before this is gimble is produced and out of the factory, (I guess something like 5-6 years) there is a good chance that the battery fail on me. Is there a way to change the rechargeable battery in DJI Osmo 2 or is it not serviceable. Additionally, if the in-house battery is dead, can it function via the USB port and external battery pack?
Repost: I figured something out recently. Bluetooth connection is BIG issue for many. I had to delete the Go app and reinstall. Sign in, and add device as expected. Finally works for me. Great video to get started thanks Evan
I just upgraded my phone to samsung z fold 4 and i also wanna make it as my vlogging camera but i find out that all dji app doesn't work on z fold 4. But on my old phone which is samsung S9+. Its still work perfectly. Just for everyone to know.
My son gave me this DJI osmo 2yrs ago, and I finally decided to use it for my trip. I spent the last few hours looking for a video to help me set up and download the correct app for my iPhone. I was so frustrated and ready to purchase a newer model until I came across your video at 1:06am and THANK YOUUUUUU. I make virtual tours and I have a Osmo 3, However I think I made a mistake, the Osmo 2 will do a 330 degree Panorama with a large field of view through DJI GO. DJI GO is NOT compatible with the OSMO 3 which means that I am now stuck with the limited capacity of 225 degrees via the Mimo App and a very limited field of view. So it looks like I will have to go back to the Osmo 2

Hey Evan. Great video bye the way. I have this unit, but my DJI go app looks nothing like yours. It doesn't give me any adjustments and looks more like an app for drones. Ive just lost my zoom function too and they've said I'll need to send it back to Holland (I'm in UK) Seems like the mobile 2 has also been removed from their website? Its there in picture, but doesn't have a 'click onto' point. Do you know anything that might help me (Or anyone else for that matter) Many thanks...Steve
Beware if you're going to use it with a Samsung Galaxy phone. The camera lens on the Galaxy phones (S7, S8, & S9) are lower than the iPhones. If you balance the Galaxy phone properly, parts of the gimbal can be seen and that will be in your pictures and videos. Not Good.
I just bought it recently and the gray foam part must of fell off , the gray foam that touches the bottom of the phone when it’s on the Osmo , is that a problem ? If so how do I fix it ?
Great video but one problem. you said dji messed up because the phone battery is close to the rotating arm. Here is a suggestion....flip the phone around so that the phones battery is facing outwards.... Problem soĺved.
Actually i have a problem with osmo mobile 2 using iphone 11 pro max. When i use tracking mode, the apps says can’t be detected and point the camera somewhere else. I don’t know why. I hope you can help me.

Good, informative video. A couple of things though - it sounds like you're saying "DGI" instea of DJI. Also, in the beginning when you were explaining how to balance the phone, the wrong adjustment knob was shown. Helpful video though, thanks! Subscribed.

I will be using a Samsung phone and therefore the Android app. My use will be for making walking vlog - so I'd like to be able to walk and talk to camera and then (easily) switch to the phone's back camera to show the view (as opposed to a 'selfie shot'). I have all the audio sorted - additional mic, etc. One question, if I may: "Is it possible to switch between front & back cameras via controls on the handle? (i.e. without using the app)". Hi Evan, i have DJI Osmo Mobile2, i vought it from overseas and now I am in New Zealand and trying to charge it but it doesn't charge, green lights blink until it is charged as soon as i turn off charging, Gimbal doesn't work. I have bought a new charger and using original gimbal uab cable as well. Can you please advise what I am missing.
Here's a question: Is there any phone case that I can keep on my mobile phone and still use the gimbal effectively? Balanced and all? Or can I just not have a case on at all?
I was given this as a gift a few years ago. Could never get the download to pair with my phone, well... download. I am trying one more time to figure this thing out and your tutorial is the most helpful I've seen since receiving this gift. Only question, now that IG and Tiktok have destroyed any prior video work, does this gimbal record vertically?
Very good video, you must be a school teacher. Easy to understand. I just received the DJI Osmo 2 and having hard time with the M button. It can turn the power on/off but it does not turn off the live mode. A message on the screen says "Tap the M button to exit to live mode" I did but no reaction. The yellow light remains on. Appreciated any advice you can help me.

I hope osmo mobile.2 will improve plastic quality, plastic.looks very cheap, it does not suit their brand value, i am shocked how so big brand can make a bad quality plastic handle on its most quality product
can you please tell me which app i need to download as i downloaded the dji go - for products before p4 but it doesn't seem to be like the one you are using..
