Johny! You can return those filters and get these instead. Don’t be stuck with gear you don’t want. Are you able to return them and get a refund? Did you buy through Amazon?
Thank you for your comment. I agree with you. It takes the same amount of energy to do things the wrong way and the right way. Plus having the correct kit, of course.
Very interesting, thank you Samuel. However, what you and every other anamorphic lens reviewer on RU-vid has forgotten is people like me who do interiors - often interiors of small spaces like camping cars. I just want to get as much into the frame as possible without too much distortion, but I still can’t work out if an anamorphic lens will be any good to me or not. I hope this will help you for further reviews, as what you did talk about was spot-on, thank you.
If you shoot with an ultra wide, you can easily correct the lens barrel distortion in your post/ editing software. I have never done such com parison so I can't really give you a definitive answer, I am sorry...
@@SamuelSotiega No worries mate, thank you for taking the time to reply. I hope this might help with any future reviews of wide lenses. I suffer really fat fingers, so your honesty about the small size is much appreciated. All the best.
Another great video... I genuinely appreciate it. Sold me on trying out these filters despite the fact that my dexterity will likely smudge my finger prints all over these lenses as I struggle to switch them out!
Thanks for the comment. You'll love it, you'll see. Glad you found the video useful. Give the video the thumbs up if you didn't. I really hope you enjoy the lenses!
I use them all the time since I got them. I literally don’t go out without them. Really good value for money. I left a link in the description if interested. I wouldn’t tell you to is if I didn’t use them myself.
@@SamuelSotiega that's interesting. they look very useful and the set is a real saving. as you do not need to buy any other filter. I read a few reviews about the bad magnet attachments as they might fall off easily. Bought recently the pocket 2 and getting used to it. it has power and magic. ordered them on amazon but not available. Im still waiting until they ship them, they are delaying
@@AntonioIndelicato the ND filters that come with these lenses only work with these particular lenses. For the standard lens you will still need to get ND filters. I use the freewell 4k daylight and I love them. I have never had any issue with the wide lens detaching or falling from the main lens…
Samuel Sotiega exactly. I know those filters are only for the anamorphic and wide angle lens included in the set. I was wondering how the attachment is between the nd lens and the wide angle or anamorphic is
I have tried to find it in Spain but even if I google it, there is nowhere I can see you can buy it from in Spain. You could either buy it from the UK store and ship it to Spain with the links provided in the description, or directly from Freewell, which I have bought from also in the past. www.freewellgear.com/131-dji-pocket-2-nd-filters-and-dji-pocket-2-accessories . I hope this is helpful..
Many thanks for the great instructions and examples. One question I get different views on: will the ND filters do their "softening" job even in auto mode (how I use my Osmo Pocket 2 most of the time). Many thanks
Yes, but you need to be aware that if you place the camera in a certain spot, and you put an ND on, both manual and auto should give you the same or similar settings. In manual, you know what you/re getting, in auto, is anyone guess, but should be close. The big if, is that if you move around, let's say go under a tree, a shadow of a building, a small bridge, anything that changes brightness, in the manual you will keep your shutter and exposure locked so you don't get crazy swings. In auto, well, it is auto so it will try to compensate, so you still get the nasty attempts for the camera to exposure correctly, even if you don;t want it or need it. I hope I am explaining this correctly and makes sense... I am not suggesting there isn't a case for sometimes or occasionally to be on auto, just that more often than not, you rather be in control of what the camera does, rather that the camera is in control o everything...
@@Toyrapy forgot to tell you, they have a free version that does 95% of what the studio (paid) version does. More than enough for most people… Unbeatable deal in my opinion!
@@SamuelSotiega Hi Samuel, thanks for your inspiring me to use DaVinci. I decide to give it a shot, get bored with Premiere 😀... will surely check DaVinci video on your channel.
Great Video! how do you think the this bundle/brand compare to the ND Filters from DJI? I just got my DJI pocket 2 and have very little to not much experience in the video/photography world. i only intend to use it for personal trips, landscape, selfies, etc. thanks!
In terms of image quality, pretty much the same. Any difference is indiscernible. However, the freewell Wide comes with its own set of ND's, which are very, very handy, as you have seen in the video. I use the freewell wide with ND's just so you know.
No. Chromatic aberration is caused by all the white light component colors not being focused at the same plane. The only way to “fix it” would be to use an extremely “sharp cutting” filter that passes only one color of light
Are you ever scared of the lenses falling off for any reason? Like if it's very windy for example. As I understand it the magnets don't really hold them on very well.
They could have done the magnetising a bit stronger. I give you that. But they held well in everything I have done so far. Would I stick the lens if I take it out the window in a car driving down a motorway? Probably not, but that would also be the case for DJI’s lens. It all depends on how you intend to use these lenses and also a bit of common sense. If in very windy conditions (and I mean really, really mega windy, like tornado type), i would just use the standard lens with a ND. Just to be safe. May I ask, how you plan to use them, if you buy them? Maybe I can give you a more helpful comment if I know that.
Which filtet for some1 who shooting in 30 only for too much sun and for low light ? Overexposed logos which are connected to some light like cosmetics companies .
For low light you don’t need filter but for very bright environment you will need a 128ND or even a 256ND in super bright… But hard to say without testing in those exact conditions…
1 question- that shot of trees with the pocket seem to rotating , around 8:58 , how do you do that? does pocket 2 have a 360 spin mode or something else its called i think spin shot mode ?
@@SamuelSotiega yes it does actually a nice work around. I always kept wondering how come there is no built in spin shot mode but this works too. I am assuming you keep the mode to slow rather than fast to get a better effect right?
Sam, i dunno man. i used the 15mm with combo, that was plenty wide, and did not need ND. If I want to lower exposure, do it in post. I got several NDs and find myself using them less and less in bright sunshine. why? I don't see much diff when i do, and i prefer the original video file to play with in post. but that's just me. good job man. Marty of Marty Sender You Tube.
It is all down to personal choice and taste. There is a valid argument for using them and I will always use NDs when shooting outdoors, but if you like the look and feel of auto exposure, then who cares what anyone thinks or says. There is a limit though as to how much the pocket 2 can do in auto in really bright days. Unless you use NDs, ur highlights will be blown out. But the best thing is that you know what you like and that is all that matters. I do have a video about a little hack to use the DJI wide angle with standard ND filters, if that would help. I think I left a link to that video in the description.
Hi, just bought myself the OP1 and I want to shoot my holiday in Spain with the Anamorphic lens. Can you tell me the settings you used with the ND32 filter ?
Amazing, congrats! Have you watched my best settings for the pocket 2 video? I think many of your questions will be answered in there. Let me know otherwise And I will try to help…
@@SamuelSotiega Thanks for pointing that out, just watched it. Since i am a complete newbie regarding shooting in manual, what I can make of it, since I am shooting in sunny Spain, I can't go wrong with 1/50 and an ISO 100 ? Shoot in 4K at 30FPS and if I want to shoot stuff which I want to slomo in post, shoot it in 60FPS. Any last tip which ND filter would be the best for sunny days? and when filming at dawn of evening, will I have to use a filter as well? One last question, will these settings also work if I will add the anamorphic lens to the pocket ? Sorry for all the newb question :)
@@NeoByteNL I use freewell daylight 4K filters. I believe I have a link to them in the description. On a sunny day you will use ND64, probably most of the day. If you keep ISO to 100 you’ll see if the image is too dark as a sign to use a lower ND. There is no formula here, all weather and lighting conditions are different, you’ll have to make that call. Sunset is a tricky one as light goes down fairly quickly. An ND8 might so, maybe a 16 if the sun is still up… Or no ND if the sun is already too low. Again, if you keep shutter at 1/50 and ISO at 100 (please keep the histogram on at all times as it will also help you) you’ll be able to easily judge if the image is too dark or too bright and decide what ND you need, if any at all. I hope this is helpful… sunrise is the opposite so you might start with no ND or ND8 and as the sun goes up and bright levels increase, you’ll have to also increase the ND. All down to you to decide as things happen in front of you…. Trust me. After a couple of times, it will be easy peasy.
@@ScottGeorgeson Oh My God, you are right! The link was taking you to another lens. My apologies. It turns out it seems amazon doesn't sell them. But I got you a link for B&H which is totally legit and I have used many times t buy all sorts of film and video kit for at least 20 years. I hope you have heard of them, they are massive. fave.co/3kA6whX . I have amended the links accordingly now in the description also. Thanks for flagging this.
The ND filters that come with the freewell wide angle and anamorphic lens/lenses only works with the freewell lenses. For the standard pocket 2 lens you will need standard pocket 2 ND filters. I have time-stamps in the video and there is a section where I talk about this and provide links in the description if you want to buy them. I hope this is helpful!
