Ooohh that’s a great question!! In my opinion go with the creator combo, because the wireless mic is designed specifically for the Pocket 2, plus you get so much more value in the Creator Combo with, for example the extra wide lens, do it all handle etc 👍

Great video! Many thanks. I bought this but the audio always sounds muffled (clipped to my shirt, audio set at 6db, with the wind shield on), I always have to boost the audio level when editing and therefore I don't think the quality is as good. Do you have any tips on setting it up in a way to increase the performance? Any advice would be much appreciated. I've searched around, but everything seems to talk about the DJI wireless mic, not the Pocket 2 wireless mic. All the best, Jono

Yeah mate I think the best solution now that the DJI Mic was released (after the wireless transmitter for the Pocket) would be to get the DJI Mic - it just seems to perform better and gives you so many other options. You can now buy a standalone DJI Mic 2 for 99 I believe, without having to buy the full kit.

I have found that many (most) conventionally wired (TRS) lapel mics do not work with the Pocket 2 when plugged directly into the Do-it-all handle (ie they are not recognised). I have one that is recognised (the Sanken Cos 11x wired for Sennheiser) but the audio only records on the left hand channel and the levels are very low, even when the Pocket2 is set to +20db in Pro Mode. To get audio on both channels with any TRS mic I have to link the tip and ring in an adapter cable. (The Pocket2 Mono/Stereo setting only seems to relate to the Pocket2 built-in mics). Which mic(s) do you have that the Pocket2 handle recognises ? I can get all my normal TRS mics to be recognised by the Pocket2 if I connect them via an adapter cable which links the tip and ring - and with the bonus that this records on both channels. Do you get audio on both channels when you plug a normal TRS mic directly into the handle and which (models) of your mics are recognised by the handle ? Re The Transmitter - All TRS mics are recognised by the DJI transmitter but the levels are low. One is OK which has a higher sensitivity ie10db higher (output) than most.) I would appreciate your experience with the handle and audio levels.

To be honest no I haven’t had much luck with other microphones but I might try using an additional adapter as you have outlined here - thanks for the tip! 👍

Have you tried a wired lav mic hooked up to transmitter? If so any work or does it have to be a TRS like mentioned in another comment? Also, agreed here, I have tried a few shotgun mics hooked to it and very low, has anyone had any luck with anything specific on that and a lav mic from the pack to your shirt? That wireless setup is very nice but can be bulky and in the way in some situation. Thanks

@@GetBusyLiving The Rode VideoMic Pro+ works well when connected to the Do-it-all Handle (try the +20db setting on the mic and +10db in the Pocket2 and set the mic to output the second 'safety' track. It is then recognised by the Pocket 2 and gives excellent sound. It also works well with plugged into DJI Wireless transmitter (I use normal Rode output level for that set up). All my lapel mics are TRS - these work with the DJI wireless transmitter but you need a lav mic with a strong output (eg sensitivity of about -28db to give a good signal . Beware, some lapel mics are not well shielded and pick up screeching interference when plugged in to the transmitter. My Primo mic capsule rated -28db produces a higher level from the transmitter than its built-in mic. I am doing a video on this and how to avoid the screeching and interference - and how to get lapel mics to be recognised when plugged directly in to the do-it-all handle- nearly finished ! It will also include some tips and examples. DJI have not made things easy.

Please note that the adapter cable referred to in my DJI Pocket2 External Microphone videos MUST be removed before paying back video on the Pocket2 OR before switching on the DJI radio mic - otherwise the headphone output amps will be shorted and may be damaged because they output from the same jack socket.

I have recorded myself playing classical guitar inside my house with this mic on the seat, as close to the guitar as possible to get good audio, but it was a little disapointing. What do you recommend for improving that sound with it? And also, is it possible to have both this one and a connected wired one working at the same time for the videos? Thanx!
@GetBusyLiving
@GetBusyLiving 3 года назад
It’s hard to comment without knowing your exact setup. Maybe there were too many hard surfaces that reflected the sound, perhaps the mic was too close and the guitar too loud and therefore was clipping. Very hard to know. No you can’t have a wired abs wireless into this device at the same time. You could record on a second device, an external device like the Zoom H1n, and then sync in post?

My question is does the wireless base on the Osmo 1 one fully support USB-C mics as I doesn't support USB data connections to PCs. It seems to only do power passthrough the wireless base USB-C. In order to do that one has to disconnect the base and connect directly to the USB-C port on the bottom of the camera then it will mount as a drive, I assume the same restriction will apply to peripherals plugged directly into the wireless base USB-C port.

I think the mic is terrible. Far too low even when you crank it up to somewhere near +20db. Was actually hoping this video would be testing the mic to determine the title, "worth it?" so I could see if other users are having the same issue as me. If the mic is right in front of my mouth it sounds decent, move it to the collar a few inches away and it becomes almost inaudible. I've just bought a Rode lavalier go which is arriving tomorrow to test into the wireless receiver, it may be wired but it will still be more discreet and if the recording works properly and sounds better then its a win.

No I don't think so. In DJI's launch video they did talk about attaching other external mics to unit but I don't think this works as well as the DJI mic.

WHy did you not show how to hook up the wireless microphone, which is the reason that I watched this video???

The video isn't a tutorial on how to use the microphone, it's simply whether I think it is worth it or not 👍

No, the wireless mic is NOT worth it. In fact, I’m replacing it with the Etudige ETM-100 mini mic from Amazon. It plugs straight into the jack of the Pocket 2’s all-in-1 handle bar; no recharging, no adapters needed.

Oh that's a great steer - thanks for that!

@@GetBusyLiving Sorry, that's ETM-001. :) And the new set-up is a success! My mini mic will now forever reside in my Pocket 2's handle bar. 😊 See for yourself; I used it in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m0woPiAzHRE.html Mini mic held up, even through blasting music outdoors. 😉

In my opinion the wireless mic is too big, takes away the attention from the subject

Yes, probably best paired with a lav mic

Dont bother getting this in 2024. this mic can literally only be connected to the pocket 2 . its a waste of hardware if you cant connect it to anyt other device
