The wide angle lens for the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Is great for some occasions. The truth about it is that there's some barrel distortion when it's used.

Knowing how easy it is to fix the distortion makes me feel more comfortable with using the wide lens. But when I don't have a way to fix it, I don't like using it.

Great info on vlogging with tilt lock and just tilting the camera away to get a wider shot.

It's an easy way around using that wide lens. In my opinion, it's a better option.

Hi, I discovered your channel and I subscribe 😉 I am a telepilote drone declared dgac in France, video editor for youtubeur, photographer and videaste, I have just the pocket 3 and whaou compared to the pocket 1 that I had bought, the gap is enormous! I'm going to do a photo/video report on a cruise on the Mediterranean and the Pocket 3 is going to be extremely useful for video, I think I'll be able to take some great images with it. And I'm also going to test the Pocket 3's log files on davinci ipad.

Does the wide angle lens fall off if the Pocket 3 automatically powers off? Or does it stay connected?

It stays connected. It just doesn't fold in.

So you put a 15mm wide angles lens on to the 20mm OP3 then correct the distortion in post to get to 18mm?

Not yet that I've seen. Freewell made one for the pocket 2 that could so I'm guessing they will eventually

Its $50. Not sure if I want it yet. My pocket 3 should come soon.

The combo definitely comes with it. It can come in handy. It just helps to know how to fix the distortion. Sometimes distortion is fun!😁

This is sort of a click bait title - whether you wanted it to be or not. This is because of course wide angle lenses have distortion. this is not a DJI thing, it is just how wide angle lenses work.

Some are better than others though, Laowa make some super wide lenses with barely any distortion. Now obviously I wouldn't expect the same from a $50 piece of glass.
