I never thought I'd be complaining about Shelton pinch hitting for Tellez in the 6th inning but here we are 😅

Good thing they have Shelton. He's slightly more awake than John Russell. You know, he makes the most outta nothing! What does matter, is that no one running the Pirates cares about winning. And hiring clowns like Cherington and Shelton, and Haines is a huge red flag on seriousness. Not to mention Bob Nutting.

Sometimes I lament being a Pirates fan.

Although DK discussed yesterday the Pirates' resiliency -- and it resonated to a certain degree -- after watching last night's game, I expect that the Pirates will probably be swept by the Cardinals, and things will continue to get progressively worse from there. The Pirates didn't show much energy at all yesterday, which was extremely disappointing considering they're playing a division rival. To me, the players already look as if they believe they may never experience a winning culture, a winning season, etc. during the entirety of their Pirate careers. They appear absolutely and totally resigned right now. They look unhappy the majority of the time. The play-by-play announcers and other broadcasters seem doubt-filled, sad, and helpless. Those are clear and enormous indications of an ownership problem, a Cherington problem, a Shelton problem, a Haines problem, etc. The list goes on. These are the people these players are surrounded by on an almost-daily basis, and this deep current of visible toxicity is regularly reflected on the field. How can the Pirate players be saved? How can Skenes, Jones, etc. thrive to their fullest capacity in this current Pirates organization? How can we, as dedicated Pirates fans, individually and collectively help the players gradually separate themselves from this disastrous mess? How can we start a movement to begin to force the main culprits out of the organization through sustained pressure in a grassroots-type of way? For example, I Iive out of state and have tickets to a Pirates game in August. I've never been to PNC Park before. However, I'd be willing to give up those tickets and not attend in order to show a different kind of support for the players by not adding to the profits of THIS organization. Are there other things that Pirate fans could do to help the players' cause? The city of Pittsburgh also deserves better-- and with Skenes and Jones now on board, the wheels will eventually come off in the most public and embarrassing way imaginable. How can we help make this stop?

It is amazing how inept this management team is and how they seem to deliberately not care what their outcomes are. It is sacrilegious and not fair to the fans, let alone the players.

I'm starting to believe you are right here. Cherington has no plan on contending this year. Buying at the deadline makes him cringe.

I love how so called "modern stats" discount and almost flippantly dismiss the only 2 stats that matter. Winning a rbis, the only reason to compete is to win and the only way the competion ends is to score more runs than the other team and ultimatly to have more wins and at the conclusion win the world series. Im not saying the "modern stats" dont count,im saying they are and should still be secondary to the only stats that matter,wins and rbis. You can add up all the fips,whips and flubbers you want and if you dont score more than the competition and win the game and then win more than you lose by batting in more rbis or runs than the other team then guess what!! Your on or rooting for a bad team,pirates fans should know this instinctively. Yet we along with the rest of baseball continue to pander to and elevate to the pinnacle a bunch of stats that are in fact secondary to the only 2 stats that matter,wins and rbis. 3 true outcomes my butt,these are the 2 true outcomes,wins and rbis.

How does the owner come out and say yeah we know what the problem is and we need to do something about it and then the GM come out and say no we have internal when everybody knows Indy sux!!!
