I hope one day, the names Cherington, Nutting etc etc become immortalized in sports media and history as the prime examples of what NOT to do, and how not manage a team. The name Cherington must become synonymous with failure. He deserves it.

Skenes and the pitching staff has reinvigorated my interest in the Pirates. You make a compelling argument DK for PS winning the ROTY. For 2025, let’s get a few bats and make the playoffs.

Morning DK! Skenes is just a phenomenon. Unless Cherrington gets canned which he should, I’m afraid we are going to waste this talent and he will eventually go somewhere where they actually want to win. So, what would the timeline be for Cherrington to be shown the door if he will be shown the door?

Double digit strikeouts in two of the three games.....and nine in the third game! Football and Hockey season are the best things to happen to Raygun Shelton and King K, Andy Paines! Keeping these Laurel & Hardy's is proof that "When?" Cherrington needs to go!!

DK, I feel it’s a disservice to not only pirates fans, but baseball as a whole to be limiting Paul Skenes in situations like the end of a washed season. I understand wanting to save his arm so he can have a long career, although you should be able to keep a healthy arm for a whole season of work. I feel Skenes does everything he needs to stay healthy and more. It is a disservice to baseball to not let the kid go out there and be great. We don’t see this often at all in this sport, obviously when he is done you pull him, and you don’t over work him. But let the kid, and the game be great. Would love to hear your thoughts

Skenes isn't an egotistical Antonio Brown. I have the good sense that he knows keeping his composure is the key to a long and prosperous career... especially if he wants out of Pittsburgh. Complaining isn't going to get him there any quicker. It would only make him look worse. Smart smart smart smart smart kid.

DK, I appreciate your content. A lot of the time this fan base needs re directed on where the blame lies. You do a phenomenal job of that. The people who yell "Fire Shelton", and at the same time waiver on whether or not they want GMBC fired are clueless. They complain about Shelton's lineups and managing of the bullpen but they don't realize that Cherrington and his analytics department are dictating most of those decisions. It's maddening. I am no Shelton stan, but he is a symptom of the disease.

Great players can use their influence to get managers and coaches fired if they sense that the particular manage and coach is not right for the team. If Skenes does not use his growing influence to help get Shelton which in turn might also help Cherington get fired this offseason, then he is just another dude who wasting his talent and is settling for putting up great numbers on a losing team that is going nowhere.
