I am blown away. This just popped up into my recommendations. I am a huge DKC fan and I had no idea such an ambitious fan project was in the works. The visuals are spot on and stay true to DKC's signature dark style. Music is amazing as well. I'll be following your work, can't wait to see what you show us next!!
@@Craigers8637I'm very happy that you liked it too. I only did the level (level design, custom sprites, and assembly) There's a whole team that did everything else, the music, the engine.
The level looks impressive, even that level is inspired by one of the Donkey Kong Land levels called Ape City. I finally see a complete gameplay of that level. I want to be able to see the full game. It's one of my favorite games from my childhood 😊
his song was composed by Rodrigo Boechat who works on the team, he manages to convey the same feeling I get when I listen to David Wise's original compositions.
@@Rangelukaz hey, man. I love the work you guys are doing. I work as a writer; been working with Copy this days and I'm good with translation (english/portuguese). Is there anything I could do in your team?
@@leonardolagassi2925 Hey, thank you, I'm glad you liked the project, at the moment we are not working with the translation system, it is possible that we will need it in the future, thank you for your help
@@Rangelukaz oh, thank you for the feedback! DK 2 is my favorite game and it'd be amazing to be part of this project if the opportunity comes. See you 💚
One can only imagine how the final version of this would've looked like. I can imagine multiple layers of parallax scrolling clouds to add some more depth, or make it a 3D kinda thing like in the Ship hold levels in DKC2 or the floor in Street Fighter II on SNES.
Amazing job. Fans always seem to recapture what made our favorite games so magical. Special shout out to the game making the OST. Really does David Wise justice.
For some reason this level's visual aesthetic feels terrifying with the music! Like the Kongs were never meant to live in a world taken over by skyscrapers.
The stage is really well designed. The music goes SO hard though like I can’t even focus on the level itself it’s insane. I’d like to think that David Wise would be impressed.
The soundtrack for this level didn't need to go as hard as it did, and yet I'm so glad it does. Rodrigo Boechat made a song that meshes so perfectly you'd think it was made by David Wise himself.
My God! This gives me nostalgia from when I got the notification of the DKC 4 Team showing this level! Epic level and I'm happy to see it in it's full glory!
I’m sooooo glad this was randomly recommended to me. I’m a HUGE DK fan and it perfectly captures the vibe and esthetic perfectly~! And the music is spot on! I love everything about this~! 💕
Plus, the traffic lights from The Death and Return of Superman. I want to take a guess that the city in the background was supposed to be Old Detroit or Delta City from the genesis version of Robocop vs The Terminator.
Damn, the music track is SO GOOD. So atmospheric, epic, tension filled, and yet a sense of hope that pushes you to go forward. It almost feels like something David Wise would have made.
Incredible. Imagine this level with rain or the lightning hazard from DKC3. Like maybe make this a level for the lost world of this game? Would make a great challenge.
I remember seeing a preview of this stage ~5 years ago I think, and was always curious how this stage would turn out. Thanks for finally satisfying that curiosity =) PS. It looks phenomenal!
It's a level based on a city and yet none of the rat enemies were used? It fits the level theme better than most enemies. I know these enemies act as obstacles, but it's so weird seeing pirates and army Kremlings in a city themed level... I mean, Klump with a yellow helmet and a tweaked belt would work wonders here! I know it's a fan project, but since they are going the extra mile making new songs and scenery, why not give some of the Kremlings a new coat of paint too? Amazing work on the project, by the way
You're right, the mouse is an enemy that suits this level very well, but when this level was designed, it served as a "testing area" for physics and gameplay, so much so that it was discontinued, but its suggestions would certainly be great for the final version of this level
@@camilingcr5459 other than the somewhat repetitive and generic synthwave sections/layers, this mostly reminds me a lot of Into The Breach OST, but with some HD concrete SFX and token SNES sounds (percussion and guitar lead synth) sprinkled in to trick someone into thinking it sounds like SNES music.
