Devil May Cry wouldn't be Devil May Cry without: •Dante getting impaled in the chest by his own blade. •Obliterating his office doors every chance that's possible.
I honestly just love it when his hair is all wet he looks exactly like Dante in a different outfit. I know they’re twins, but Vergil seems pretty determined to differ himself from his brother.
Funny how Dante complains about the demons destroying his shop yet he kicked down the front doors, smashed the jukebox, destroyed the fan and the pool table and the demons mostly just attacked him
......dont get me wrong im completely behind this idea, absolutely love it........BUT.....would you really want to hear the cheesy dialogue again? Or have something that makes it cooler
The Devil Trigger forms were actually designed by the guy who did most of the artwork for the Shin Megami Tensei series before IV. That series has really interesting demon designs that I definitely recommend checking out!
PiratesoftheNorth78 Ah! Cool. I love the art in Shin Megami Tensei. Makes sense because it's got a similar style. This particular Devil May Cry game is still my favorite in the series.
God the storytelling of this game was the best in the series. In the beginning, Dante was a cocky immature bum who only wanted to fight Vergil and didn't care at all that a tower that can destroy the world appeared. He even rejected the idea of having a father and his own identity as a half demon. And then in the end, Dante was willing to fight anything in his way to save the human world, growing mature enough in the process to calm down a raging Lady and even trying to save his brother, whom he wanted to kill at first. He even accepts his true nature in contrast to what he did in the beginning. Even Vergil had tremendous development for his official debut in the series. From choosing his father's power in the beginning, he falls to the underworld with his mother's amulet, the memory he rejected in the beginning.
Dante: my father wasnt so hideous. Cant you tell by looking at me? 1 minute earlier Arkham: what do you think after looking at your fathers image? Dante: *ITS* *LIKE* *STARING* *INTO* *A* *BACKED* *UP* *TOILET*
Chris Chandler lol, maybe he was referring to sparda's DT looking like a cockroach, that's why he said he looked like a backed up toilet, and when Arkham couldn't control the power and turned into jelly I think Dante was talking about how Dante looked in his human representation, he's right, sparda don't look that bad, he looks exactly like Vergil
The final battle with Vergil is probably one of the best gaming experiences ever. The music, the build up, the emotion and the damn battle itself lol. So great.
Arkham was a damn good villain, he was planning, scheming the whole time. It was so well written. That Jester character was a perfect add on. However he had the same problem as Vergil did, he took pride in thinking that he was Sparda... and that is a real dissapointment.
What I wanted to say was that when Arkham recieved Spardas power, he became greedy, inplementing in his mind that he is as powerfull as Sparda. (Arkham basically disguised himself as Jester to help Dante, that earns a freaking medal in my book)
***** He was not human, he gained devil powers sacrificing his wife. If you see the entire video you can see him turn into a demon (Jester) several times.
@@ThatDumbassOwl He wasn't helping Dante out of altruism. He had to guide him through Temen-ni-gru to ensure he made it to that sacrifice chamber safely for Sparda's blood. In Lady's case, he told her Vergil manipulated him to lure her there as well. If any of them had died, it would've ruined his plans.
I always want to laugh everytime someone mistype vergil as virgil, like man Virgil is the leader of the destroyer in The Warrior that have a bottle in his fckin' head XD
Vergil! :o ♥♥♥ I love this game so much. "Foolishness, Dante. Foolishness. Might controls everything. And without strength, you cannot protect anything. Let alone yourself." - Epic, man. Just epic. ♥
+Corbyn Kessler Hell yeah. You could see the difference in both games. -DMC 3: Vergil after being defeated and severely wounded by Dante, decides to stay in hell, and charges alone to battle against Mundus. -DmC: Vergil battling Mundus. "Dante! DO something!" *Vergil looking all helpless*
I swear, this games cutscenes hold up as some if the most creative and badass displays of action I've ever scene. The part where dante junos off the temengru and rides the rebellion like a missle, only to be swallowed by that flying whake was probrably my favorite one
Yeah its a lesson learned, this was 1 of my 1st custcenes movies and I apologize for that. I'm thinking about doing an updated version of DMC3 cutscenes with ALL the cuts and better frames and clarity.
4:07 - 9:40 This cutscene is timeless, for so many fucking reasons, the atmosphere of two brothers battling on a full moon while raining, the choreography of the fight, lady narrating it like she's telling the story to someone else, Vergil's caress act and Dante's agonizing pain of not being able to stop him, it's fucking priceless, this s WHY DmC failed so fucking hard, it completely ignored this, it's a dumbed down version of DMC3 in EVERY single way except the graphics... even DMC4 is GARBAGE when compared to DMC3...
I'm stronger faster better looking...yeah yeah yeah I... 'I got a bigger dick' (slams desk) 'Family? I don't have a family, i just don't like you, that's all.' Mom, get the camera. 'Foolishness Dante, foolishness' Holy. Fuck
+Fatal Existence It's okay man, it is your opinion and I respect it. I cleared the trilogy and I don't play them now. The story was really hard to understand though
Kristina Sharp That what makes dante a badass character, i didn't see anyone like him since a character called Sol-Badguy, Dante is actually the 2nd badass character in my list.
The acting in this game is PHENOMENAL. If the oscar award covered video game industry, these actors would've been nominees easily. And for the love of God this game came out about 15 years ago.
This is a really old video, but thank you for uploading all these scenes! Devil May Cry 3 is one of the best, most fun, enjoyable games I've ever played!
@@undead2481 OUF... But the good news is that the novel prequel to DMC5 will make a lot more sense to you afterwards. Edit: whoops, wrong link. Here it is mobile.twitter.com/i/moments/1101216533886451712
One thing that bugged me about Arkham. He said that Lady had the blood of the same priestess who Sparda sacrificed to seal away Temen-ni-gru. He must've been planning this for years. It can't be mere coincidence that he had a child with one of her descendents. It was probably intentional.
DemoLegends There's a slight nuance in their behaviour and motives which make me immediately notice that this is from a Japanese company. Having lived in Japan, it's even easier for me now to notice such details, although I can't describe them.
I actually liked DMC 4...Nero as a character was a bit uninteresting; tedious and serious at the same time but his DT made him awesome, his weapons were quite interesting; eventhough not as much as Dante ; but then again , his legacy was built up from DMC.
My personal rating is DMC - 9/10 (The best one to me personally. That moment when you realize Dante defeated a reality warper.) DMC2 - 7/10 (MAJIN FORM FTW) DMC3 - 9/10 (Vergil nuff said) DMC4 - 9/10 (I love Nero, I just hated that he was the MAIN character) DmC - 6/10 (Mundus was a weakling, Vergil's gay voice, graphics were just nasty, epilepsy, seizures, Dante's weak Stinger, who the fuck is Kat, basically the whole story itself should have never been changed.) if it was named something else then it would've been a 8/10
Lmfao yeah I honestly don't even know why they added a new character into it. The game could've been done without her. And the only thing I really liked was the combos.
The things about DmC is that everything is out in the opening, nothing is hidden. When I went through the game, I thought that the demons were doing a more justifiable cause than Vergil and Dante themselves. If the world really corrupted itself to the point where demons could take over, giving humanity its freedom would be the worse thing to do. Dante said he would become humanity's protector, but even I don't really trust him with it nor do I trust humanity itself. Even the president was a pawn for Mundus. It's completely fine that they changed the story and the characters and put it in modern time where social media and all that crap controlled the world and humanity. But the formula of a plot like that is quite overused and redundant. We've seen it in movies and it's nothing new to the table. The title "Devil May Cry" was symbolic representation of the character, Dante, and it was the sole reason why he named his shop that. They should rename the reboot series as something different, keeping the name "Devil May Cry" doesn't have any meaning within DmC: Devil May Cry. Dante didn't have to prove to anyone that even someone who isn't human can still shed tears for the ones they care about, in this case, Lady. DmC Dante's progression was way too fast, by the end of Mission 2 or 3, Dante already learns who he was. He didn't even need to prove to anyone that he even cared nor did he show any sympathy towards wanting to give humans their freedom. He willingly joined Vergil just because he was his brother but never questioned his motives. "Maybe somewhere out there even a devil may cry when he loses a loved one. Don't you think?" -Lady
Dude devils may cry is what was said after when dante had to take down vergil in the 3rd one devil may cry the reboot is the same symbolic dude. And u dont trust him?? Dude i hate how everybody tries to bash on this new dante when really that they dont want to admit it, goes through the same character development in the 3rd one. Dante was a douche, then as the story progressed became the good guy we knew, in dmc dante was a DOUCHE and later in series grew to be a better man. Honestly but no one ever want to give that credit. And when people say they seen this in movies? U do know there are tv shows, anime, and movies where either twin conflict like this and fighting against a demential demon like mundus and other devil may cry games. But no u dont want to compare it like that because its not exactly the same. And neither is the story of dmc. Movies and shows of government trying to brainwash you exist but not like this. A sword wielding, limbo hopping devil/angle man fighting for the sake of humanity looking as the terrorist, but yet fighting demons. Other devil may crys share the same story with other movies and shows. But yet for this one you try to say thats a huge flaw??? Makes no sense
AK46supr Dante never had to prove his humanity to anyone. Sure he cared about Kat, but Kat did not make Dante grow as a person. He became more sensitive towards her, but that was about it. Lady had to fight Dante and make him see that it wasn't all fun & games, and Dante had to prove to her that her perception of demons was wrong. By Mission 2 of DmC: Devil May Cry, Dante already learned everything about himself and all of a sudden he gave a damn about saving humanity. His character development was poorly done. Dante wanting humanity to have its freedom was probably the dumbest idea, I mean, have you seen the world? Humanity is in turmoil, and giving humanity freedom would be the worst idea in their current situation. Vergil's idea seemed much more reasonable despite that it promotes a form of humanity being their slaves, but still, they would be building humanity back up again.
phoenix-force411 Agreed. Donte's so-called lack of humanity seemed to stem just from his inexplicable amnesia. Once he got the memories back he was all for saving the world and giving a damn and getting revenge. There was actually little to no character progression throughout. The DmC game made it all seemingly about humanity and whatnot, when Dante did not interact with any other humans aside from Kat to show that his perspective was changing. In DMC3, Dante already gave a damn about humanity, which was why Lady's words about demons unable to understand human bonds and emotions stung and stayed with him throughout the game. It's only after watching Lady's struggles and his dealings with the other boss demons and Vergil did Dante finally come to grips with his misgivings about his lineage and what it entailed. His resentment for Sparda turned into acceptance and respect, and to honor the great man his father was Dante resolved to protect humanity to the best of his abilities as Sparda once did. That's a pretty good example of a human drama story. Donte's story was in no way similar, especially given that he's not even partially human. He actually has no ties to humanity whatsoever, and since we don't see his parents' influence or any good associations with other humans or any indication he gives a crap about humans, it all comes very contrived.
None of that crap matters cause the reboot is dead for good, DMC5 is out and it's the jackpot, and that's the real DMC5 by the way not the shitty reboot
harry fisher I once liked resident evil series but ever since 6 came out I was like ( That's It I'm done with Resident Evil) so that's how to got in to devil may cry series I beaten 1 2 and 3 but I haven't played 4 but I heard 4 was amazing
harry fisher I know I'm replying to a 2 year old comment. But you know the reboot sucked majorly in gameplay when donguri only touched it once and never again. Goes to show how superior DMC 4 combat is and even DMC 3. Hell he's even doing a tournament for DMC 1 😂
Vergil: You showed up. Dante: You sure know how to throw a party! No food, no drinks and the only babe just left. Vergil: My sincerest apology brother. I was so eager to see you. I couldn't concentrate on preparation for the bash. Dante: Whatever at any rate, it's been a whole year since we last met. how about a kiss from your little brother? Or better yet, how about a kiss from this? So this is what they call a heartwarming family reunion, huh? Vergil: You got the right.
Davey Ave are you kidding me? DmC offered more worst than good. The characters were not interesting at all, as if they added Nero 10 times in the game. For the so called "good" level design, they just made the environment look more modern and nothing else. Plus they added some weird colors that makes the game look like Instagram which is another horrible thing that came out in my opinion. The only thing that appealed to me was the combo system which is more fluid than the past DMC games.
God so much nostalgia and I love the opening of this and the music that plays throughout the game with the opera but damn this is the best DMC game there was
Vergil has certainly come a long way. He’s not as power hungry, has a child, and (possibly) becomes brotherly with Dante by the end of DMC 5. That’s some character development there
I had to play this games again on the switch, it just reminds me how this series starts to be perfect, for the gameplay and the emotional story, time to play dmc 5 again :D
My favorite part on 01:22:36; Dante: "Look at you... making a big dramatic entrance and stealing my spotlight." Vergil's response: "Well... you don't possibly believe he deserves to be our main event now do you?" Lolol!!! 😁😁😂😂 I gotta admit Vergil does have somewhat of a sense of humor.
