I think Bivol's best two weapons against Canelo is the jab and footwork though. Lara carved Canelo up a lot but couldn't handle the power. Bivol may be able to handle the power tbh. May not too lol! But GGG jab caused Canelo problems too. So Bivol coming with a bit of the jab and footwork problems for Canelo in one fighter.

Bivol never really worries about body shots. His guard is always high and that's gonna throw off his game plan with canelo. He might end up like Kovalev. He's gonna expect a body shot and get caught on the chin

He didn’t go full out on offense because Canelo had great head movement defense. Bivol said it himself in the post fight press. Missing punches can be very tiring, he’s probably trying not to gas himself out

Canelos defense was also a little better than Bivol thought. But you can see in training camp Bivol goes off with those power punches. He's a scary guy. He caught Joe Smith with a few heavy punches and even knocked him down late. He's got power but he reserves it.

I don't rate that win at all. Prime Kovalev beats Canelo, imo. If Canelo beats Bivol, that will be an amazing scalp. No excuses there.

Kovalev was old, had already been knocked out multiple times, and was vulnerable to the body yet he did very well against Canelo. Bivol has better defense, faster hands, and is more athletic than Kovalev. Canelo should win the fight, but Bivol isn't a walk in the park. He's never even had a close decision. Not only beat, but really dominated solid guys like Jean Pascal, Sullivan Berrera, and Joe Smith Jr.

And canelo doesn't like aggressive fighters with solid jabs so what.....

Who is that an excuse for?

Bivol had 268 wins in the amateurs and 15 losses. He’s in his prime just how Loma is in his prime with only 18 fights. Canelo wasn’t in his prime yet. He didn’t have anywhere near the amateur experience as the guys I mentioned above. If you don’t think amateurs give you experience you need to lay off the bong.

@Simon Paterson there isn’t much point in arguing with ignorant fans if you can’t even admit that having hundreds of amateur fights is going to help a fighter tremendously at the pro level. Dimitri Bivol is in his absolute prime when he fought Canelo, Loma was in his absolute prime when he started getting belts between 5-15 pro fights. Same with Artur Beterbiev (17-0) Canelo shouldn’t have even been in the ring with Bivol. He tried to put on way too much mass for his 5’8 frame and he looked slow and undisciplined. This isn’t a big loss for Canelo at all, he just found out that he wasn’t built for the best guys at 175. At least he had the guts to test himself and lose. That’s more than the vast majority of boxers will ever do.

I think Bivol is heavily underrated. I think stylistically he is the hardest fight out there for Canelo. I say that because I think Charlo is too sloppy he lunges in and gets a bit wild as the fight goes on so for that reason I think he’d be competitive for the first 4 rounds and then Canelo would dominate Charlo. Benavidez is too flat footed for Canelo, also he has poor head movement I think he’s a sitting duck for Canelo in my opinion. Beterbiev and Bivol are the hardest for Canelo. Most people say Beterbiev is the hardest but I think stylistically it’s not that tough for Canelo. Beterbiev is just brute force, he’s like a less skilled GGG. Then Bivol he has flawless footwork, great timing, great head movement, uses his head movement and footwork together perfectly to get in and out during his opponents combos and lands clean shots. Also he’s never been dropped or wobbled. I would say Canelo probably does have higher ring IQ however Bivol isnt just a counter puncher like Saunders or Plant or GGG who throw AFTER their opponents shot, Bivol throws at the same time as his opponent inbetween their combinations. And I think that’s a struggle for Canelo. Also factor in it’s his first real fight at 175 because Kovalev was damaged goods and Canelo was losing that fight until the KO. Whatever happened it’s a great fight and people should be excited for it!💯🔥

@@FightologyTV ill be honest, it looked like Kovalev was pulling his punches and didnt have the same “snap”. I felt like he threw that fight and or was paid off the books to take a dive. Even a higher bonus if he can make it look “believable”. Bivol is a well oiled machine imo and has what it takes to potentially defeat CLENela. I can’t wait for may 7th already!
