Do I leave a 1/4" gap if I already have baseboards on?

1:46. The best part of the video :P Actually, thanks for the tips. Did not know the right way to lay or tape this stuff. Am considering adding laminate flooring over the dated carpet in a rental. DMX was recommended to avoid mold underneath. So thanks for the tips here and your other videos too.

pro tip, don't install cove base before installing your flooring.

I have a very thin layer of old black cut back left on the concrete after old tile removal. Will cut back react with the plastic? Soften it or dissolve it? Of course you will say it is best to remove the cut back, but what will actually happen if I leave it?

What would you use the double sided tape included in the new packages for?

The dimples are on the blue side so it’s actually dimple side up as I guessed. Dimple: “a small depression” Oxford Dictionary

Yep, instructions are backwards. They should just say "Blue side up."

Hello, thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we apologize for any confusion caused by our installation instructions. To clarify, the blue side should indeed always be facing up during installation. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Best Regards, DMX Team

Thanks in advance. Please see my question below. Minimum LVP thickness requirement of 5mm that DMX 1step 2.0 support, does that have to be the LVP core or the total thickness of the LVP including wear layer and attached underlayment? For example a plank with thickness specs as below 3.5 mm core + 0.5 mm wear layer + 1 mm IXPE underlayment.

I have done everything DMX told me to do, and still have terrible humidity problems under this floor. It should be considered insulation ONLY. If you even suspect you might maybe possibly have the tiniest bit of water getting in, this is not for you. I had a professional basement water proofing company come look, and he told me he cannot think of a single instance someone should use this product. Tile in a basement is the only way to go.

This subflooring has NOTHING to do with humidity control. This product is designed for people that HAVE wet floor problems. It allows moisture that collects under your floor to achieve proper air floor and evaporate through the boundaries of the sheet. Your "waterproofing professional" is an absolute moron. If you try to tile onto a concrete floor with moisture issues, you're going to have some SERIOUS mold problems.

@@psiewert83 I can't explain it clearer. You're just obtuse. Good luck, especially to anyone who expects this to help with a water issue.

@@toastranger72 DMX….is….not…..supposed…..to…..solve……water……problems. Do you drink gasoline or something?

@@psiewert83 First selling point on their site, Moisture Barrier. 2nd is Mold Barrier. This product does neither. You do know moisture is fancy talk for water/humidity right? For people like you, they put a picture of water droplets next to the words Moisture Barrier.

@@psiewert83 I will again try super duper hard to clarify in small words you might understand. I am not talking about living space air humidity. I am talking about water, water vapor, humidity, floor sweet, h20, dihydrogen monoxide, agua, wasser, acqua, trapped between the concrete and the dmx 1crap. Sorry I can't draw pictures or make a pop up book that would be at your reading level.
