DMZ means demilitarized zone (it is an area where
military is removed). There are some servers (ftp server, web server), network devices like ip camera, video conferencing device & DVR system are configure to access online means from internet. We have to create access rules, open range of ports & set port forwarding in routers & firewall. sometimes we do not exact port numbers.
To solve this problem we have an idea DMZ (Demilitarized zone). When we set server in DMZ zone then server get full internet access without any restriction means the server is exposed so the internet can see it & all the ports tcp and udp are opened to server means DMZ hosting forwards all the ports at the same time to one computer.
Note: The server or pc is set to DMZ must have its DHCP client feature disabled (set manual IP address) and should have a new static IP address assigned to it because its IP address may change when using the DHCP feature in routers & firewall.
In this video tutorial, I have a linksys router & Internet connection with public IP address already configured in linksys router. I have filezilla ftp server with remote destop enabled. I will take remote
desktop & access this filezilla ftp server from remote pc with the help of public IP address after setting DMZ configuration in linksys router.
