Thank God for Ken Yates and Bob Wilkin. I have been shunned from Christian churches in the city I live in Ontario, Canada; because they all believe in Lordship Salvation. How can 99% of Christians believe another gospel after they get saved. I bet when Paul wrote Galatians he would of never guessed that would be the outcome. I love you Ken Yates and Bob Wilkin.

It is believing that what you do personally saves you and keeps you saved. It is a lie from hell. Only what Jesus did for us saves us. John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9

@@kferrelltu45 Lordship Salvation : Luke 13:23-28 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. 28There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. The gate is narrow because the process is hard, and the perspective we need to see the entrance to the narrow gate comes only through the Savior, Christ Jesus. We don’t do it on our own but operate by the power of Christ, in us, so God receives all the glory. The goal of the narrow gate starts with repentance followed by obedience to live a life that glorifies God. It may seem counterproductive to fight through the narrow gate of persecution and hardship by resting in Jesus. His burden is light, He promises. Putting it down all that entangles us is difficult! However, the possibility of missing our chance at eternity is extremely plausible if we clutch onto sinfull desires, lusts and pursuits of the world the wide gate.Destruction means a loss that produces utter ruin, perishing and here refers to loss of eternal life with God.

In a nutshell, it is a theology that says believing in Christ and obeying Christ are basically the same or inseparable. So if you believe but don't obey that supposedly proves that you didn't believe in a way that results in eternal life.

Your absolutely right! Our “works” have nothing to do with salvation, not saying we shouldn’t strive to live a life presentable to God, but if you believe your “works” will save you then you don’t trust what Jesus did for us. He paid our sin debt in full, cause there’s no way anyone can save yourself. You either trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus or you don’t.

I like to tell people: "Believe you have eternal life through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ." I include verses like John 3:16, Acts 15:11, 1 John 5:10-13, Titus 3:5-7, and Romans 11:6). I think including "grace" in Belief in Jesus is important to get people to talk about and understand the gospel of grace more when we preach how to be saved.

We should not neglect the teaching of God's judgment. Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone AND TO BE HOLY, WITHOUT HOLINESS NO ONE WILL SEE THE LORD. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 IN FLAMING FIRE TAKING VENGEANCE ON them that know not God, AND THAT OBEY NOT the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ 9WHO SHALL BE PUNISHED WITH EVERLASTING DESTRUCTION from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. 1 Corinthians 10:21You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons 2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription “The Lord knows those who are his, and, “EVERYONE WHO CONFESSED THE NAME OF THE LORD MUST TURN AWAY FROM WICKEDNESS.” Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him being abominable and disobedient, and unto every good work. 1 John 2:4 He that saith I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. @@2Chronicles714_ Whether someone is saved or not has absolutely nothing to do with their adherence to the law (Romans 3:19-28, Romans 9:29-10:5). Hebrews 9:12 shows that the redemption Jesus obtained for us is eternal, therefore no one's salvation can come to an end. Someone's adherence to the law does not prove they're saved either, because Paul tells people who have already had their old man crucified with Christ (Romans 6:6) to not let sin reign in their mortal body (Romans 6:12-13), meaning it's possible for a saved person to yield their flesh to sin. Romans 10:4 says that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. God can have judgement on a saved person's sinful flesh, but God cannot see their sin spiritually, because they are born of the Spirit. Jesus said in John 3 - "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." Philippians 3:21 says that God "shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." Vile means evil or wicked. Every one that is saved has an evil body that cannot inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 15:50), and is why Philippians 3:20-21 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-57 teaches that every believer will have their body changed to be incorruptible (sinless). But again, that is future, that has not happened yet.

@michaelc7418 God does see the sin and we must confess any sin and ask for forgiveness. IF you sin cry out to God for forgiveness. Not only must we confess sin (1John1:9) but we must forsake it. Run away from it. One old definition of repentance is to leave the sin I've done before, and show I've earnestly grieved by doing it no more. If a man is genuinely born again, all old things are passed away, all things have become new.( 2 Corinthians 5:17) Too many today are preaching a perverted gospel to make it as palatable as possible. They give them a shot of love and grace without any warning of a looming judgment of hell for any who think because of grace they can continue living no different than before. Those that believe that a change of conduct [Repenting of sin] is works are making our Lord's death on the cross meaningless. He didn't die for sins to give a green light to live like a demon. Galatians 6:7-8 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. READ THOS NEXT VERSE SLOWLY. 8Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

@@2Chronicles714_ You said: "Is living for and pleasing Jesus in obedience follow the law so we shouldn't?" -> I didn't say we should not follow God's law, but breaking God's law has no impact on one's salvation. You cannot think you have to keep the commandments of the law to go to Heaven, otherwise you don't believe in salvation by grace. 1 John 3:4 says: "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." So that means that not sinning is to keep the law. The Bible is clear is many verses such as Romans 3:19-28, Romans 9:29-10:5, Galatians 3:10-14, and so on, that we are NOT justified/saved by the law. You said: "God does see the sin and we must confess any sin and ask for forgiveness." -> Colossians 2:10-15 shows that being saved means that God has circumcised the body of the sins of your flesh, by the circumcision of Christ. So, when we commit sin with our bodies, it does not effect our Spirit. Again, Romans 10:4 says that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. You said: "If a man is genuinely born again, all old things are passed away, all things have become new.( 2 Corinthians 5:17)" -> If that verse were talking about how a saved person lives in this life, then they would never commit any sin ever again, but we know that is not true based on Paul in Romans 7 still committing sin. 1 John 3:9 says: "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." This verse shows that the new birth cannot sin, but the Bible says that our flesh can and does sin, so that shows being born again does not effect how someone lives with their flesh. Again, Philippians 3:20-21 shows that God will (in the future) change believers vile (evil) body to be made like his glorious body; so that means it has not happened yet, hence why a saved person's body still commits sin in this life. You said: "Too many today are preaching a perverted gospel to make it as palatable as possible. They give them a shot of love and grace without any warning of a looming judgment of hell for any who think because of grace they can continue living no different than before. Those that believe that a change of conduct [Repenting of sin] is works are making our Lord's death on the cross meaningless. He didn't die for sins to give a green light to live like a demon." -> It is obvious you are the one preaching a false gospel and you are making Jesus' death on the cross meaningless. Just so we are clear on what the law is, 1 John 3:4 tells us that "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." So to not sin is to keep the law. Galatians 2:21 says "I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain." So you are the one saying Jesus died for nothing, because you think that righteousness comes by the law. Telling people they have to turn from sin to go to Heaven is frustrating the grace of God. Repenting of sin is works, because to turn from sin is to live right, and Titus 3:5 says "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;", and Jonah 3 shows turning from sin is works, since we see the people of Nineveh turn from their sin and God saw that as works: Jonah 3:10 - "And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not."

Excellent clarification Ken . Zacharias & Ladd - and everyone watching & reading this - are included in the passage : "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" . Jesus died for every last one of those as the "Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" . Only question that has forever consequence is : did either believe in Him for His doubtless Guarantee of Everlasting Life at a moment in time ? That's the only condition for being invested with His imputed righteousness (Romans 3:20-5:11,11:6 ; Ephesians 2:8-9 ; Titus 3:5 ; Phillipians 3:9) . How "bad" is bad ? How "good" is good ? Jesus clearly stated that "only God is good" . Whereas , when any Lordship Salvation proponent tries to make perseverance till death in hopefully good enough behavior (works) a Necessary condition of entering His Kingdom , they're faced with a problem they cannot solve , Biblically . I've Never gotten a response from any LShipper when asked to give an Objective level (%) of behavioral performance that gets the job done , thus proving the utter unknowability of their position . It seems that the vast majority of humanity find "grace" too "cheap" ; that there's somehow gotta be some commitment , effort , & elbow grease involved in order to prove "genuine". Often , the passage is cited : "strive to enter in at the narrow gate" , fresh on the heels of James 2 : "faith without works is dead" ! And , very often accompanied with : "by their fruits you will know them" (Matthew 7:16-20) . Whereas , eternal salvation is an All Or Nothing proposition . Either/Or . Either "grace" is less than "cheap" - i.e. - therefore a gift that is truly Free of any hidden fees & Cost to the recipient (Romans 11:6) . Or , it depends on one's never knowable perseverance till death in purely subjective criteria (obedience/fruit inspection/works) ; the sure recipe for unbelief . Filthy Rags are never an infallible barometer of one's Everlasting destination . Only His doubt free Guarantee of Everlasting Life - apart from all frail & fallible criteria - sets the Anchor in the Water , forever .

Did you leave out how Paul tells us that people believe in vain and how Matthew makes it very clear that many people who think they are going to heaven are not? Corinthians 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. The word of God makes it very clear that many people believe in vain. When Jesus saves you...He will change you. You will know when that happens.

For me the question is when people ask this, is, what is your perception of heaven? I think scripture teaches us that heaven is the kingdom of God which includes what we can see and what is not visible. It includes everything inside the place represented by the new Jerusalem and it includes everything that is outside that city. So, for me the question is; what is the experience of various people in heaven, both now in the temporal and then in the eternal? Remember the lake of fire (whatever it actually represents), is also within the kingdom of God. This also may lead to another question; Is the judgement of God retributive or restorative? Interesting question.

This is what SCRIPTURE says - Jude, the brother of the Lord warned us as follows: " For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who TURN THE GRACE of our God into LEWDNESS and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5 But I want to remind YOU [i.e., believers who have trusted in Christ and received the grace of God], though you once knew this, that the Lord, HAVING SAVED the people out of the land of Egypt, AFTERWARD DESTROYED those who did not believe. 6 AND the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; 7 as SODOM and GOMORRAH, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual IMMORALITY and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of ETERNAL FIRE" Both those Israelites in the desert and Sodom & Gomorrah were immoral and idolaters and they share the same fate, which is not just physical death, but ETERNAL FIRE. Apostle Paul likewise warns you in unequivocal terms: "Do you not know that the UNRIGHTEOUS will NOT inherit the kingdom of God? ..." (1 Cor 6:9-10) "May my enemy be like the WICKED, And he who rises up against me like the UNRIGHTEOUS". Job 27:7 establishes the parallel between the wicked and the unrighteous, they are one and the same. So what is the fate of the unrighteous/wicked? “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is WICKED and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and DRINK with drunkards. 50 The MASTER of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will CUT HIM TO PIECES and assign him a place with the HYPOCRITES [i.e., Pharisees], where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Matt 24:45-51) Are you going to tell me now that the hypocrites/Pharisees, where a wicked believer is sent to be with, will be in heaven/the Kingdom of God?

Someone that has truly been born again will be sensitive to sin and they will be led to repentance and confession to that sin. The blood cleanses but not in the dark. 1John 1:5-10 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

John 8:34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 👉 35Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.👈 36So IF the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Jesus says a person who practices sin is a slave to sin. We all sin. But we are not slaves to sin unless we make a practice of sin. What does it mean to practice sin? It means we know what we are doing is wrong, but we keep on doing it and we are not prepared to repent of the sin and ask for forgiveness (1 John 1:9) Not who believes but who obeys will have eternal life with God. John 8:51 Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death.

So you believe in works-based salvation? Tell for what purpose do you serve God, fear of condemnation or bc you want to demonstrate His love for you. Now I’ll agree these aren’t mutually exclusive, there is certainly a BETTER answer. Most who address free grace salvation, aren’t encouraging sin, but simply demonstrating that salvation according to scripture is a FREE gift and cannot be lost. There is punishment and chastisement for sin for the believer. Maybe Ravi was taken home early bc of his actions?? Idk.

I don't know much about George Eldon Ladd other than being a foremost proponent of covenantal or post-trib pre-millennialism. I'm dispensational in my eschatology. I'm familiar with Ravi Zacharias apologetics work. I have no idea where George Ladd stood on the Gospel or whether he had a Free Grace understanding. However, with Ravi Zacharias, he was anything but sound on the Gospel and all I really heard from him was 'give your life to Jesus' guff and pretty much zilch about faith alone in the person and Finished Work of the Lord Jesus Christ who gave His life for us. I simply cannot say if Zacharias knew the Saviour but his legacy is an àbominable one not just for his serial lechery but his bullying and character assassination of the women he tried it on with. With George Ladd, he primarily harmed himself and his immediate family but assuming he was saved and most likely was, he wouldn't be the first and certainly not the last saved Christian to have struggled with alcoholism. You are absolutely right that it is believing on Jesus not subsequent behaviour that determines one's entry into Heaven.

Have you or I changed our mind about Sin and who God is and have turned from our sinful ways.(rebellion to the Th King our God) Greek meaning of repentance to change your mind coupled with the Hebrew meaning physically owning up to the Sin and the symptoms i.e. sins, and going in a different direction. The person who stole no longer steals but works. Are you trusting in Christ to give you victory over rebellion and Sin. Are you contending with the areas that you need deliverance in and salvation through Christ who works in you. Are you working out your salvation with fear and trembling? I am not te judge of anyone but the Bible tells us to be Holy , to conform to the mind of Christ. So i would be more concerned about examining myself, am i in the faith than about judging the dead. We are saved to bring the Kingdom of God where we go now, TheKingdom has already started, it will come in fullness at The Christ's return, Jesus our Messiah. Run from this man. Eternal life IS righteousness. If someone is born again yet returns to living perpetually in fornication and drunkenness they do not inherit the kingdom (1 Cor 6, Eph 5, Gal 5). There is no excuse to sin. You have been set free. You are a new creature. The sin generator is not in you. Yes, lust is still in the body but Rom8:13 says the body is dead which means it can't make you sin. If you choose to follow the new desires of the born again spirit, by the conscience, your body is quickened and the deed is mortified (because you didn't do it). Rom 8:13 If you go back to living after the flesh you will eternally die. If you, through the born again spirit, mortify the deeds of the body you shall eternally live. True eternal security is to walk righteous today and you will have hope to walk righteous tomorrow. Do you have to be perfect? No. The covenant of life in our spirit is sealed between the Father and Jesus so it is not about my works. This means even if I sinned and died before repenting I would make heaven. But to use that as an excuse to sin is to not believe the Gospel that freed you from sin. If God cannot lie and you no longer believe then the only outcome is that the word of eternal life is no longer in you. (1 John 1:10).

@michaelchurchmcm I couldn't agree more. Some even try to use Solomon falling into sin as proof that God doesn't mind sin because the book of Proverbs is still included in the Bible. Also people point to David, but God punished David severely and David was remorseful for what he had done. These teachers immediately hit anyone saying sin is wrong with the label of a being a Lordship Salvation person, I've only heard of that term recently.
