I think talking through makes patient relaxed. Helps with my nerves as well.

I have question ma’am , English is not my first language and I’m not fluent in it so I’m very nervous if I cant say some words correctly my clinical is on 3/28/2019 I hope I pass

You really don't have to. I just did mine Monday & I talked through SOME of the exam to remind myself what was next OR to state what I was doing (example: my last skill was dress patient with weak arm. I was quiet for the most part but I felt obligated to make it clear that I would hold her hand as if I were shaking it to dress the weak arm carefully) BUT this may also be apart of patients rights that way the patient is coherent to the task you are performing

Think of this from the patient's point of view. It's awkward for you to be silent. This is not good bedside manner and should be avoided. Just because a skill is passed doesn't mean it was done correctly. This channel is designed to provide complete information on skills performance, not just "good enough". We want to create EXCEPTIONAL CNAs! :-) Congratulations on passing the exam and thank you for your comment! Best of luck!
