My circle of friends are composed of 14 people. 6 of us live in Australia (Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide) and 8 of us live in Canada (Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto). We are working as nurses, HR professional, accountant, and engineer. We've been comparing a lot between these two countries and here the things we found: - It is easier to obtain PR in Canada. - It is easier to buy a house in Canada. - There is much more money in Australia. - Work-life balance in Australia way better than Canada. - Climate is generally better in Australia. - Canada is closer to the rest of the world but with more money and paid leaves in Australia, you have higher chances of exploring the world. - Canadians are a little more polite than Australians but there are also a lot Karens in Canada. - It's more fun to live in Australia as there are more events going on. - Our friends in Australia have much more savings than us in Canada. 2 of them are nurses in Australia, 1 is accountant and the other three are Engineers and their savings are almost twice our savings here in Canada. - Lastly, they can go to our home country, the Philippines, 3X a year while my Canada-based homies goes to the PH once in two years. 😢

I have not seen anyone who has an Australian PR and moved to Canada. People who could not get PR in Australia (including myself) usually move to Canada. And, the comparison does not make sense. A temporary resident visa should not be compared with a PR visa. Having said that, Australia beats Canada as a country overall.

Australia is close to Canada in term of quality of life and its relative to different person....... for example its not black and white and racism is more present in Canada and also child care better in CA and has better job opportunities yes Australia has also housing crisis etc etc... again its not blakc and white there are no better country for each individual its different.....

Getting winter tires is ideal? .. sure. Necessary? nope. I have lived in winnipeg and currently living in charlottetown right now. I have only driven with all season tires for 7 years.. I think it's more about the driver and where and how they commute. If you're going to be around the city or close to the city, get all seasons.. if you're gonna be out in the country, boy get those of winter tires.

Ya. Especially if you're going quite far. But like 1hr out of the city, all seasons tires with an suv is ok. I drive to Selkirk from Winnipeg for work and my ford escape flies the highway. I did get winter tires my 1st year in Canada though, cuz i've never driven in snow before. But now i'm a pro😊.

You could pluck someone from Canada cities and put it in Australia cities and they won’t even know the difference. The culture, language, infrastructure etc looks identical. Australia health and safety, education and immigration ranks are considered the best in the world. Outside of the cities though, Australia is fire to Canada ice. Equally beautiful in different way.

Hello, I believe you will adjust. It will be a great contrast as Brisbane is mostly a sunny and warm city and Edmonton isn't really like that. In the end, you will be fine! Also, housing is cheaper in Edmonton than Calgary where I am so I guess that's a plus too! Safe travels!

I can fully understand this. Maeorgiba can always apply for PR after she gains work experience etc, but in my opinion AU is really downhill and nice for beaches and lifysteyle for a while if someone likes it, people, culture, expecially job opportunities are much better somewhere else, I didn`t like the attitude of Austrlian, they "we are the best"attitude, very expensive, not able to buy a house, very small job market, arrogance of Aussie, Canada wins for me, I used to live in AU and now in Switzerland, so no AU is not the only, and definitely not "the best country" in the world

I never regretted for 1 minute leaving Australia 33 years ago at 18 - we all take a different journey - I’ve been extremely blessed here in the United States & it hasn’t been perfect & nowhere is - considering how the world has become I couldn’t ask to live in a better place here in the Deep South ( Bible Belt ) - life is simple - away from the masses & big cities - I’ve been back and visited Australia dozens of times & it’s a country I’m not familiar with now - especially Sydney . Australia had turned into an inflated dystopian Marxist society , but then again Europe & the United States are well under way for the same fate sadly

@@michaeljohnbalestramon3643 I live in the Deep South - I love it here - as I live rural - it’s away from all the nonsense - I have an old farmhouse with land - I payed cash for - I have great health insurance - I see what your saying - the cities in America are getting worse - look at crime in Sydney or Melbourne it’s the worst it’s ever been - Australia is outrageously expensive - people are under financial pressure - when was the last time you lived or visited the United States ? I see a lot of people comment on America that have never been here - what you have to understand is how diverse America is from North to South from East to West - I’ve lived in Atlanta - Detroit - Los Angeles and now they are horrible - rural here in the bible belt is great - when this Covid nonsense was going on it didn’t affect us 1 bit - no mask wearing - no restrictions at all - life went on as usual - the Deep South is extremely peaceful and stress free - fortunately I always had the financial means as I ran my own business 15 years - I live simple - well under my means & that’s why at 42 I stopped working and decided I’m done and since then 9 years ago I’ve lived a peaceful rural life - Most Aussies can’t afford a house sadly - Australia has become the surveillance state - it’s not for me sorry -
