fkujakedmyname - How much time do you believe a CEO puts in each week? Do you really think the CEO just plays golf and hangs out in his office part time? Paul made a great point about people that don't really understand what power is. And it seems obvious that you don't understand what being a CEO entails.

*This* is the most hated man in the MRA movement? I've heard him described by others as a hateful, sexist, pro-domestic violence, misogynist. It's funny, when you actually give the man a chance to speak he just sounds like a guy who is pointing out an uncomfortable truth in society that no one wants to face. I heard someone supporting equality here, not someone demanding women to be subservient and to lose their right to vote. Strange how people twist things.

Not gonna lie, it felt good to hear someone talk about the hardships of high risk work, almost got me teared up. I work 10 hour days in a cold climate outdoors doing manual labour & working with machinery, and its a good day when I don't come home with a minor to moderate injury. By the end of the week (lately especially) I'm just too burned out to do any socializing or the things I enjoy. My ex-girlfriend used to complain that I used to go to bed too early & she would whine and try and make me feel bad about it. Women have no idea what we go through in these "common" jobs, but thanks to Cassie some light is starting to be shed on the issue. The last thing in my heart as a man that I want to do is oppress women, but I sure as hell aren't just going to sit back and listen to women belittle everything I do not just for myself, but for them when the circumstances call for it (ie being in a relationship).

faultroy, I wish you had not added that personal insult at the end, because a lot of what you said made sense. But the last line, being emotional, makes it offensive, and such insults only make people defensive. Ask- is it more important to present some accurate information which helps the discussion, or is it more important to try and get a quick insult in like a teenager ? @@flatq1935 Conversely, women in the top 1% (or with any degree of power or agency) very frequently use that power or agency to help other women, even when males are as deserving of help or more so. Feminists are quite comfortable with 80% of the homeless, 93% of workplace fatalities, 97% of military casualties and 80% of suicides being male. In a nutshell, feminism is group narcissism and selfishness. It is unsurprising it resonates most with affluent, university educated females in the first world. When was the last time you met a truck stop waitress who was a feminist, or a female academic who wasn't?
@kennethslayor8177

When I was younger one could see in the introduction at parties the social attitude toward sex assigned roles. Men were introduced based on their occupation or intended occupation: "This is Tom. He is studying to be a doctor," or "This is Jim. He is studying to be a teacher." Women were introduced on the basis of their interests: "This is Rose. She likes to ride horses," or "This is Krista. She likes to knit and crochet." In this way, the women with the more expensive interests could target the men who could afford those interests. Likewise, men knew immediately which women would not find their paycheck interesting enough to date them. Behaviorally, I don't see any real change in that. Women are afforded choice. Men are required to pay for her choices or be denied a relationship.

True. I am aware of a case in Illinois where during a trial separation a wife continued to have safe sex with her husband. Then while he was in the shower she fished the condoms out of the waste can tied them off and froze them. After their divorce she used his spermcicles to get pregnant. Then when the child was two years old, she sued for child support and back child support. The judge then awarded the child support and denied any counter-claim for her using his sperm without permission because he had thrown it away making it public property.

It is the first time in my entire life that I watch an interview of a person that talks for 12 straight minutes and actually make sence in everything that he sais, without pausing or having to think his next argument and he pointed out at least 4 different subjects. It is more than a man being well prepared. It's the pain and the injustice of never been allowed to speak your mind. faultroy except he DID mention it when he stated that women have the majority vote in this country. He didn't say a large majority, just a majority. He then springs off that and into why they aren't electing more women into these roles, and blames society and how it shaped the expectations of men to put themselves forward for these, ultimately sacrificial, roles. This is seen through the lens of individualist ideals, where going into a leadership role is a sacrifice in respect to your personal freedoms and privacy. In essence, it's like being a celebrity, with no benefit of the doubt.

As an attorney, it's interesting to me that you let Mr. Elam just speak for 10+ minutes without interruption. We're taught to "control the interrogation" by interrupting the witness when he/she deviates even a little bit from the question asked. However, I've found that silence (while continuing to stare at the witness as if I expect an answer) often makes them feel forced to fill-in the silence with admissions that eventually prove their guilt. I'm not suggesting that this wasn't an organic conversation. It clearly was. Just wanted to point out this was an ideal technique for getting a perfect summary of this person's beliefs.

Thank you.It occurred to me that the phrase the 'Red Pill' is important to retain in its current context, i.e. seeing and acknowledging that men's rights exist. There's a risk that the term could be hijacked to mean ANY process of individual enlightenment. Any Eureka moment on any topic. If that happens we run the risk of men's rights being forgotten again.I wish you every success. You have a great deal of support.

I think the Powers That Be like the current system, because it takes away men's power, and men are a threat to the PTB because we're the ones who fight revolutions. Ignorance and a lack of willingness to resist the system is what keeps the system in place. But now, men are taking the red pill, so that they're no longer ignorant. They then realize they can just walk away from the system. Once enough men walk away, the system will collapse. By "system" I mean feminism and gynocentrism, of course.

+faultroy I believe a large point of his point is. The most powerful man will still bow down to social pressures, and even the suggestions of a spouse. There is an inherent self sacrificing aspect of a males psychology. The reason being. 1 man can populate a tribe, 1 woman cannot. Therefore sperm is less valuable than eggs. Lose 10 out of 100 men, you'll still get as many babies. Lose 10 out of 100 women, that's 10 less children in the tribe.

"Look at us. Look what they make you give." - Quote from 'The Bourne Ultimatum' - It's easy to say there should be more women CEOs and STEM majors. I heard a lot of that talk from women in college - but only from Humanities majors, which translates to "I think it's very important that OTHER WOMEN study science (something I'm not willing to do)." It's not so easy to get them to do the work and make the sacrifices it takes to get there. More women attend college than men do, yet very few of them major in STEM or pursue MBAs. So we hear a lot about making it easier for women to reach these goals, but to the men who had to put in the hours and make the sacrifices to get there, it just sounds like 'Let's just hand these positions over to someone that doesn't think the job is worth working and sacrificing for in the interest of 'fairness'. Doesn't sound like 'fairness' is the best way to describe that approach.

Really well explained. I’ve had huge backlash from « feminists » because of an article posted about the Charlottestown events, and the article lumped in MRAs with white supremacists and neo-nazis without any explanation or context, gratuitously. I posted something along the lines that I didn’t like that, merging MRAs that actually want to do good with extremists that are mysoginists and also label as MRA. You wouldn’t imagine the backlash and the hate, and the name-calling… Only one person wanted to know more, while already made fun of me, but I said that it was pointless, no argument or evidence would change anything with such a bunch of crazies. Some people even joked about men committing suicide… this is insane. That’s why I no longer label as feminist, I don’t wanna be seen with these idiots. Egalitarian and humanist makes a lot more sense to me now.

Women in America live about 7 years longer then men. Staying alive is power. Women have easier lives than men, far less stress, they get to be far closer to their children, because it is men who are charged with being the primary breadwinner, so women get to work part time....less stress. This adds years to women's lives. Men work hard, and die young. Go to any old folks home and you will see 90% of the people still alive are women. Their husbands have all died young, working for them. Men pay far more taxes than women, so that when the men die young, from working for the betterment of women, the women get to spend their money. Men pay about 70% of all taxes, and women use about 70% of all government benefits....paid for by men. Naturally after a life of sacrifice for women, feminists spit at men, call them abusive bastards who have all the power. If you understand this, you understand a lot, of how our society works for women, but not for men.
@TimBitts649
@TimBitts649 6 лет назад
faultroy...I don't agree...here's why: Free will choices? I don't think so. It's not so simple. When you are young and in love, it seems like it will last forever. Every couple that gets a divorce does not see it coming. They think they will last forever. But life is long, and people change. You don't think life will change you, but it does. And you never see this coming, when you are young. The system of marriage we created was built for a pre-industrial society, where women were incredibly vulnerable and could not work and look after themselves. So, to keep the human race alive, men evolved traditions such as lifetime marriage, and looking after women. Then technology was eventually developed, that allowed much more freedom for the sexes. People used to live till 50 years of age on average in America, till around 1900. I met people earlier in my life that were born then, so I don't think that was long ago. Then feminism came along, after men had developed the technology and science, to allow women more sexual freedom. Great. Now we need a men's movement to stick up for the interests of men, just like feminism stood up for the interests of women. Many things must go: lifetime marriage must go, divorce law must change to be fair and cheap, to end marriages, for a man. Women can no longer take advantage of men. I know so many men that got the short end of the stick, in marriage. That has to change. Paul Elam talks about a lot of those issues, and I applaud him for it. We need to catch up, with men's rights. We men gave up a lot in the past, to look after women, so we designed society to cater to their needs, not ours, and we sacrificed endlessly for them. None of this mattered as most of them don't care, don't acknowledge any of it, and think history is a giant conspiracy against women. In fact, history is the history men working, to keep women and children alive, and advance their interests.....and now is time, for men to have equality and sexual freedom.....and many things. So you talked about "free will"....great....that's what I want for men: freedom to enter and leave relationships, with little to no penalty. Yes a man must look after his children, but generally speaking, as Paul says, the system screws men over very, very badly. You say "no one is holding a gun to a man's head"....to which I say: not true. The gun is held to your head by society, by women, and the courts. As a man, once you sign on the dotted line, you give up all your rights, your money, your sexual freedom, for the rest of your life. If you want these things back, and take back your freedom, there is a very, very harsh and steep penalty for doing so. I have seen the inside of a lot of marriage breakups and it is always the man who pays the harshest penalties, by far....that has to change. Men stay in marriage out of habit, most of them. As to being enablers and co-conspirators, most men don't want the negative energy that comes from standing out, or rocking the boat, so they give in, to what they don't want, and remain slave to their wives. Current marriage and social patterns have advanced for women, but not men. You say that men are not victims? If you are a man and ever go thru a divorce, you will feel very, very different, at the end of the procedure, as your soul and children and wallet are ripped from you....
@TimBitts649
@TimBitts649 6 лет назад
Men are both the victims, and also must take responsibility. Nothing is so simple as to boil things down to one word, like "victim" or "responsibility"....but generally speaking, I'm talking about free will. The relationships between the genders are a terribly bad deal: for men. You can read about some of it in Dr. Helen Smith's book "Men on Strike"....why men are not marrying. Karen Straughan also has a good video on why men are not marrying. It has about a million views on youtube. Marriage should be based on free will. Now it is based on males being subservient to females. That's not gonna last. I'm not a slave. Old gender roles don't work, because we no longer live in the 1800s. Those days are gone. Men need to have the freedom to come and go in relationships. Right now 75% of all divorces are initiated by women. You know why? Because they win, every time. If we ever get to the point where it is a 50-50 split, then we will have progressed. By the way, one of the leading causes of divorce is simply that the women now have zero check on their behavior. That's why divorce is so high: they have all the power.
@TimBitts649
@TimBitts649 6 лет назад
lol....you sure seem angry...faultroy....I've been saying all along that men should look after their children....you try to lie and characterize me as being not responsible. Your reading comprehension is not all that good. I just think life time marriage is on the way out. It's an old religious anachronism from a bygone era. Humans can now be more free. And it's not just my opinion. Marriage in the general population is at a several hundred year low....look it up. Why is this happening? Basically because marriage is now, a bad deal for men. Countless millions of men, particularly young men, agree with me and are voting not to get married. I know quite a few men who have children with various women, are not married, and have had several long term girlfriends, and great lives....and they look after their kids. I know married men who haven't been laid in years, and are miserable. Men are simply now choosing what is best for them, while at the same time taking care of their children. The marriage rate is incredibly low, but at the same time the divorce rate is very high: around 40-50%....and in Southern California, a bell-weather part of the country, the divorce rate is 80%....guess what this means? This is the future, staring you in the face. Just look at the choices people are making, with their lives. And that's the future. It's not me who has decided that. It's countless millions of men. Humans likely evolved to be serial monogamists, for the most part. Humans in advanced countries have been chucking out lifetime traditional marriage, into the garbage can, and embracing sexual freedom. Finally we have the technology sufficient that we can throw out this ancient institution of lifetime marriage. Your time, your way of looking at the world, is admirable, and I respect what men like you did and built, you made the world what it is today, and the human race should be very grateful to old school men like you, who kept the human race alive, till now......but you're from a bygone era. Your days are past. Time has moved on. You are the past, not the future.
@TimBitts649
@TimBitts649 4 года назад
@Tyler T Yes, lifetime marriage is best, but guess what? That's pretty unrealistic. "Lifetime marriage is best" is like saying "Everyone should be rich and slim and smart"....sure, there is nothing better than a lifetime happy marriage but: How do we make that more likely in people's lives? Doesn't happen for most people. In fact, a sizable portion of married people are quite miserable. Why is that? My point is, we need to improve marriage for men, so it's worth him sticking around. Right now it's not. It's like "Blue Zones" around the world. There are small spots around the world, called "blue zones" where people live unusually long and healthy lives, compared to the rest of people around the planet. Why is that? If you look it up, people have figured out what it takes to live longer and healthier....based on real and provable data. We need to do that with marriage. Wishing marriage was great and should last a lifetime won't make it so. Just saying everyone should be married for a lifetime won't make it so. What will?
@TimBitts649
@TimBitts649 4 года назад
@Tyler T Oh, I want men to have responsibility. Trouble is, feminism takes all authority away from men. Life won't work that way. You can't have responsibility for something unless you have authority over that thing. You insulted me by saying I have a female brain because I don't want responsibility? Well, that's not true, I do want male responsibility. But your insult proves the point I just made: you think men should have responsibility and you think women are irresponsible. I agree. I would just add, that with responsibility comes male authority. You can't have one, without the other. Won't work. Take away a man's authority and he has no motivation to take responsibility. You just have to look at black families to see this. The men are not around, in the home. Many of the kids are fucked up. But why is that? It's because society expects black men to have responsibility, but no authority. How this happens: Welfare is set up to help single women. It replaces the income a man could provide a woman. The legal and government system entirely favors women over men. Then the woman thinks "I don't need a man around, the government will look after me". This means the man has had his authority and value taken away, because if she doesn't need him, she won't respect his authority. Feminism has been pushing welfare and taking men's rights and authority away, for decades, through the court and government replacing men in the home. First they wrecked the black community. Decades ago there were almost no single back women raising kids. Now? Because of feminism and welfare...two peas in a pod...now men have been replaced in black homes. Now, almost all black kids are raised by single moms, as male black authority was taken away....it never used to be that way. However, most people think this is a racial issue. Bullshit. It's not. The same thing is now happening in white communities: single motherhood is growing by leaps and bounds....because male authority has been stripped away. It all goes back to male authority and male responsibility. You got half the answer right. Male responsibility is great, it raises the best kids if a man sticks around....agreed. But unless male authority is brought back....in the courts and in the home....your vision of life won't happen for most people. My philosophy: if you want men to have responsibility for their families, give them authority in their families. Make sure governments can't replace the income of men. Make sure the courts favor men, over women. Make sure the legal system gives men full responsibility for their families, but then gives men enough resources and authority so that he is invaluable to the woman. This means ending government programs that favor single women. It means giving men priority in jobs, making sure every man who wants to work, can do so, can buy a home, pay his bills, raise his kids. Do that, then fine, you can hold men to high standards of responsibility, once that is done.

Well in regards to power I would not necesarily agree fully. You can have several definitions of power. What about the ability to make choices that will affect the behaviour, choices, possibilities etc. of other people? Can you argue that that is power? Not only do you make your own choice, but you also make the choice for others. THAT is indeed power. Power and responsibility go hand in hand and power is not mutually exclusive to sacrifice. There shouldn't be a focus on trying to show that being a CEO or politician does not mean you are powerfull, but instead focus on only the aspect that it requires sacrifice which most women don't want to make. Some do and those women actually do end up being a CEO, politician or other prominent figure. The strugle to get to the top is often viewed as greater due to sexism, so the counter argument to that should be to show that it's the same kind of fight for men as well.

Elias Canetti wrote a book entitled Crowds and Power. The concept of human power is always centered in the ability to influence groups of people. Charismatic persons who derive power from a group or crowd are always circumscribed in their influence by what their supporters are willing to accept. Bertrand Barère de Vieuzac said “The tree of liberty grows only when watered by the blood of tyrants.” But tyrants are always a product of people who demand strict behavior--who are tired of responsibility. They want to act mindlessly under the will of one person invested with universal power to control others. Eric Hoffer wrote: “The years of the Weimar Constitution which followed were for most Germans a time of irritation and frustration. Used as they were to commands from above and respect for authority, they found the loose, irreverent democratic order all confusion and chaos. They were shocked to realize ‘that they had to participate in government, choose a party, and pass judgment upon political matters.’ They longed for a new corporate whole, more monolithic, all-embracing and glorious to behold than even the Kaiser regime had been-and the Third Reich more than answered their prayer. Hitler's totalitarian regime, once established, was never in danger of mass revolt. So long as the ruling Nazi hierarchy was willing to shoulder all responsibilities and make all decisions, there was not the least chance for any popular antagonism to arise.” No person in this world has power over another but what it is given to them. Said William Edgars in Babylon 5 to Michael Garibaldi: “You’re still laboring under the notion that people take power. Nobody takes power! They’re given power by the rest of us, because we are stupid, or afraid, or both. The Germans in 1929, the Russians in 1917 and 2013, the Iraqis in 2025, the French in 2112, they handed over power to people they thought could settle scores-get the trains running on time, restore their prestige. They did it because it was what they wanted. Afterwards, like children who have eaten too much candy after dinner they denied it was their fault! It was them, always them….” Women (or anyone) who complain about male power (or "privilege") are behaving as children, ignorant, foolish, envious, and generally irresponsible. Responsible people understand the consequences of power to influence the behavior of others.

You are quite correct Paul. Our Animalistic Territorial Imperatives were a necessity on those plains of Africa, or wherever. Today though, our society has managed to intellectualize those attributes as somewhat of a disguise to mask that we have not yet learned how to not allow those attributes to rule over us. Humans, for all intense and purposes still screw each other over at every opportunity and sometimes just for the fun of it, called war. In letting go though, we must also be aware of the aggressive nature of women wanting a man for protection without allowing ourselves to be manipulated by their desires. You can be strong without being a brute, and I mean that as in Strength of Character.

I realize people say that the mra hasn't done much to help men. What everyone needs to know is that this movement is still in it's infancy and was designed to be an extension of the 1st wave feminist concepts as far as I understand it. What is most important now is to start a dialogue about men's issues (especially black and hispanic men)and hopefully it will reach people in power. I want to extend a special thanks to all the brilliant women such as Cassie Jaye and Karen straugn that are calling out the misandry spouted by third wave feminism and making fantastic arguments. Use _The MRA's_ , or _The MRM_ . An MRA refers to a single person. *"What is most important now is to start a dialogue about men's issues (especially black and hispanic men)"* Why the identity politics here? When you address men's issues, you'll be addressing them regardless of race. So why the focus on these two? Because they _"have it worse"_ ? Do you really want to make the MRM an extension of 3rd wave feminism?

Now, I don't mean this in any antagonistic way towards white men of course, but I found that It is more effective to reach a close minded mainstream audience starting with a dialogue about black and hispanic men since they have more likely been exposed to it through more conventional means. The audience will naturally begin to associate issues with all men in general. This is also a good way to butter up even the most vicious mrm critics.
