when do people stop dorming? do a lot of people only do on campus housing freshman year and then get a house or apartment with roommates the rest of college? or if you’re in a sorority or fraternity do you live there all four years?
question: which laptop would you recommend is best? like, is there a certain brand of computer that runs the programs that professors chose to use easier than others?
Not really, I have a MacBook Pro and it works perfect. The only thing is you’ll have to take CS101 and you need excel for that which is windows, so you’ll have to use a windows computer on campus for those assignments if u don’t have the excel application on ur own computer
Which dining plan would you recommend for freshman year? WVU doesn't have as much variety as some school and I hate being wasteful but also want to make sure I'm not starving to death lmfao
The cheapest plan I think it’s the blue one!! You definitely do not have to worry about starving urself lol the blue is plenty the rest are a waste of money, I had 40 swipes left over at least
I have never heard of the blue plan. They changed the plans the summer before my freshman year, and it's now the Go 10, Go 13, and Go Anytime. If you plan of having every meal on campus, get anytime. If you plan on eating off-campus a few times a week, get 13, and if you only plan on eating a few meals on-campus a week, get 10. An easy way to figure out the right meal plan for you is to take the Dining Dollars you get for the semester. Divide the Dining Dollars by the number of weeks in the semester and then divide that by 10, and that's approximately how many meals you can buy a week with Dining Dollars. Add that number to the number of swipes you get per week, and that's how many meals you get per week. Compare that with how many meals you anticipate eating on-campus each week, and pick the plan that's best for you. I may do the math myself later in which case I'll edit this comment. Edit: Go 10 will work if you plan on eating 11 or fewer meals on-campus each week, Go 13 will work for up to 15, and more than that and you need Go Anytime. WVU Dining Services also made a BuzzFeed quiz to help you find the right meal plan www.buzzfeed.com/westvirginiau/which-wvu-dining-plan-is-right-for-you-6em4fd2ktg
The dorm rules say no pets of any kind, but I've never heard of someone getting in trouble for having fish. Heck, someone had a cat in the dorm for two or three days my freshman year and didn't get in trouble. Granted, I think part of the reason they got away with that was a miscommunication the student had with the RAs/RHC.
