I have tried many different types of gear thru the years. Nothing compares to Mosko Moto gear as far as quality goes. All there bags are second to none. That goes for there apparel also. Sure they are at the higher end on price point but for what you get they are cheap. There equipment will last you a lifetime. Also there customer service is beyond excellent! They will take care of you no matter what the circumstance is. You will not find better gear or service from any company anywhere. No I don't work for Mosko Moto but I believe in there gear and there company. Don't ever hesitate to buy anything from Mosko Moto.

I would agree with almost all of your sentiments here. I have great things to say about the quality of Mosko gear and every interaction with them has been awesome. I imagine that has a lot to do with the fact that they are all riders as well so they seem to embody the golden rule of customer service. The only point I disagree on is the notion that there should be no hesitations as their gear, just like any others', has it best uses. There are circumstances where some products just won't fit for certain experiences nearly as well as another. If we look at all this stuff as different tools, it makes it easier for me to grasp the idea that it isn't necessarily about quality as much as it is about choosing the right tool for the job. My only other "complaint" is I have ordered tons of stuff from Mosko and always hoped to find a shirt inside. There never was one but I am still hopeful. ;-)

have you tried wolfman luggage ? I have the Nomad tankbag but the duffelbag and saddlebags from wolfman ... wolfman has same quality if not slightly better .

@BeGoneForGood Год назад
I had one wild man tank bag before the Nomad and though I was happy with it, there was no comparison to the robust materials of the Mosko. The materials they use are super heavy duty. Not so much with the Wolfman but that might also be a benefit as I think a solid case can be made that some of the Mosko stuff, including the tank bags, are way overbuilt and heavier for it.

C'mon man... your title is "Do NOT Buy" then you go on to call the product bulletproof yada yada yada... your title is misleading since the video is more of a things-to-consider-before-buying type of commentary. "It's kind of bulletproof for a tank bag..." for an item that lives on your bike all the time is that not the gold standard? I'm not a fanboy for anyone, and am critical in all my purchases... and can honestly say that anything I have ever purchased from Mosko is TOP NOTCH. If you don't have the money cool... if you're too lazy to put the rain fly on and you want to scuba dive with it cool (I ride in the Pacific NW and never use it and have had zero probs btw) ... if you're one of the 1 out of 100 people that carries a drone or 35mm lens from the 80's cool... but do not make a "Do NOT Buy" video for something that is perfect for many riders. Organization for all the little critical items, not having a hydration pack on your back, and a bulletproof product is what many of us were looking for when we bought it. -John (Mosko send me a T-shirt lol)

@@BeGoneForGood I don't have a problem with your video or anything presented in it... I have a problem with the title. If your title was "Reasons the Nomax May Not Be the Tank Bag for You" or something along those lines then it would be decent. The fact is you said "Do NOT buy". Do not buy is something you say when something is a POS and is not good in any way for anyone. This bag works extremely well for many people. In my opinion it works well for more people than it would not. I did a poll with a few friends that have this exact same bag and asked them if the Nomax was a "do not buy" item and they laughed. Do not buy means the item is garbage for everybody... since your video is not claiming the bag is a "do not buy" type item for everyone then it's click bait and not honest.

I get the more accurate title but you’re also talking about ten more words. There is an element of thrift in titling these things and ultimately the reasons I listed are reasons NOT to buy the Mosko tank bag. They won’t be everyone’s reasons but they could be issues for some. Again, I appreciate the feedback but it would extraordinarily difficult to get every nuance of a video into the title without writing a book.

@@BeGoneForGood as a fellow creator I appreciate the amount of effort that goes into these videos and your production is excellent. After doing some research and watching your last video, I will be purchasing a Nomax when they become available. My main attraction is the hydration capability, which is greatly needed for me out here in the Southwest. It may have something to do with my medications, but I tend to dehydrate very fast. This will be my first tank bag so I'm going into this fresh and I do not intend on carrying anything bulky. I do also like the compartmentalized system of the Nomax and I didn't want a large compartment "junk drawer" like most of the tank bags out there. Though a waterproof system like a Giant Loop or Nelson Rigg would be nice, I can certainly deal with stopping to put on the rain cover.

Spot on I agree 100%. great for carrying wallet & glasses flashlight etc, If I dont have anything else in it I can get my Canon DSLR and compact lens in it but it leaves hardly no room for anything else, the rain cover does seem to do its job quite well. I like Nomad but not sure if I would but it again there is a lot less room in it than I expected

I think I would be really interested if Mosko built a traditional “deep well” type of bag just because I like the idea of more room and don’t need the layering element. We shall see what they have in store for us next.

Well thought out and delivered! Click bait title lol, I came here ready to argue the point with you but I honestly can't disagree with your points. I went with a bigger bag but have just recently changed to the Nomax because of the organization. Sorting through the larger tub type was getting annoying and I found I was putting crap in there I really do not need. The smaller size and ability to unhook so easily was a major reason for my purchase! Great video.

Here I am, checking in a year later, after buying and quickly selling a mosko moto tank bag. The thing drove me nuts. I avoided using it on rides cause it was such a PIA to try to find anything in. I dont need that much crap in a tank bag. The zippers within zippers, pockets within pockets, 5 layers to dig thru? Once I tried it a couple times I got rid of it . "Over engineered" "really well built" both apply to this tankbag.

I think one thing that goes along with point 2 is the hydration pack. It's a cool selling feature and one of the reason I wanted to go for it, but at the end of the day it does chew up a lot of the available space in the bag. I'm still on the fence, I'm really interested in their future tank bags which take inspiration from fanny packs.
@BeGoneForGood
@BeGoneForGood 3 года назад
I am a fan of everything Mosko does so any future offerings in the tank bag department will certainly grab my attention. I think it really comes down to me not needing the water in the pack so I will probably regularly run without it in there at all.

@@BeGoneForGood Fair enough, I know a lot of people who just use a hydration backpack, but I have some recent medical issues that make backpacks uncomfortable. It’s funny because since our talk a year ago I am MUCH more open to using a hydration pack on the trail. I won’t put it in the Nomad because as you said, it chews up all available space but I’ve found some backpacks that get the job done very well.

@@BeGoneForGood I did actually wind up getting the Gnome tank bag from MM. It holds my DJI Mini3 drone and controller just fine... until I fill up the hydration pack, then there is barely room for my phone. Still worth it since I don't pack my drone often. I bought a Kriega R18 for going into town and it has lots of space for a hydra-pack if need be.

Quite a spin....I truly chose to watch this video to prove the Nomaxs' down points...I bought the Nomax last year....the only thing is the tip about the rain cover....I find I have to air it out after a good rain or lots of dew....Rain cover helps a lot....but be conscious of moisture....Still a 90+ rating on Mosko Gear!!!!!!!

I tend to agree. I still bought the bag after all these considerations but I can see how any one of these or the mix of all of them could keep someone from spending so much. I have to disagree one the camera point, I carry my canon m50 camera it’s lense the DJI Mavic air drone and the controller all in the lower portion of the nomad. I do have to move the rain cover to the zipper on the top of the bottom portion zipper. I also fit 2 spare DJI batteries in the next layer with 3 mesh type pockets with other things. And yes I fill the water bladder and carry it in it’s holder ;) Video should be up soon it’s about 4 th on the editing table lol. Thanks for your thoughts on the Mosko tank bags Cheers

That is pretty incredible. Maybe you got the Mosko Grande version. ;-) I am thinking that the AT doesn't help me much with the "over" packing options because the tank bump does chew up a lot of extra space but you seem to have a good set up going. Would you agree though, that even with your gear all fitting in the Mosko, you would still have more room with the big tub type competitors out there? I look forward to seeing the video with everything packed because I might just have to steal your setup for my upcoming rides.

I disliked this video. The title literally says "Do NOT Buy The Mosko Moto Nomad & Nomax Tank Bag." It doesn't say three things to consider or even really offer significant nitpicks that the product page doesn't absolutely declare. It explicitly states to avoid the bag. Your reasons for avoiding it are that it is expensive (relative- all purpose built ADV gear is expensive), it is small (the website explicitly states this is a 7 liter bag), and that it isn't waterproof (which it never claims to be, but yet it is still water resistant and the cover works extremely well). I absolutely despise content like this. There is nothing in this video that reflects anything someone couldn't get from the product page and the title is inflammatory clickbait. The seven minute runtime for the content is pretty difficult to stomach. This is akin to press reviews where they stand there and read the specs off on a bike and offer no insight into riding experience or ownership whatsoever. There just isn't room for content like this in a post-Fort9/AdventureDaily/Tkacs/Dork in the Road world. Revise the title. Give your commentary while riding or during a ride. Walk the viewer through what exactly is an issue while you're using it. Have lots of footage. This just... looks like it's geared for clicks and not to improve the community. Good luck.
@BeGoneForGood
@BeGoneForGood 2 года назад
Well...that was one hell of a critique. I appreciate the feedback though I don't really know that I can even remotely agree with you. Are size, waterproofness and price NOT reasons to eliminate certain items from your kit? Maybe they are, maybe they aren't but you seem to have answers for all of those items. Luckily, this video will launch for more than just you and your desires for gear. Are the only issues a person can have with gear those that are completely unrecognizable to anyone but the creator of the vid? That seems a pretty difficult bar to hit as almost any complaint or issue from a piece of gear will be recognized some how or some way BEFORE the video is made. You might be interested to know I have a video about the things I love with this tank bag but I can caution you now, they aren't revelatory items. They are simply things I found to work well for me and thought others should know about them...kinda like the things that DON'T work well for me highlighted in this vid. The good news is that I have lots of miles with the bag so I can tell you quite explicitly what works, what I like, what I don't, things I would like to see improved, and things I can tolerate to get the best of the other elements. You don't have to agree with my list at all but that is the joy of being here. If you want folks to agree with you...just keep on clicking and I am sure you will find someone. Literally, less than a minute into the vid, I tell you that I ride with this bag and LOVE it. That should be a pretty good indicator that the following reasons won't be catastrophic or fatal flaws for this bag. they are personal and individual wants and needs that are covered as I am guessing 99% of reviews do routinely. If there was anything worse than that, I would likely skip the vid and call the BBB. I appreciate the suggestions for improvements though they wouldn't do ANYTHING to change the main issue you highlighted which apparently was that unless I have a completely new and unprecedented opinion, I should just sit back down. It's not going to happen but I would be curious if you watch "MUST buy" or "NEED to have" vids with the same literal take on the advice offered...probably right?

I think you owe Pete and the Mosko crew an apology for posting a video with such a negative headline as "Do NOT Buy The..." Your points are: 1. the price; 2. the size; and 3. the waterproofing. You are using this as clickbait. Price and size are not reasons to "NOT Buy The Mosko," they are just what they are. As you say, the Mosko gear is extremely well-made and durable, so of course it's going to cost more, especially since they are a small company. I have no problems paying a premium for great gear made by a small group of committed fellow riders. Your point on cost is not a reason NOT to buy the Mosko products unless you can point to an equal quality bag at a significantly lower price point, which you don't. The size issue you mention is ludicrous: they have 4 sizes of bags available, so what's your point? Again, this isn't a reason NOT to buy a Mosko product, since the size is a personal choice. Maybe if there was only a single size available, your point would be valid. And finally, the waterproofing. They offer a rain cover. Is that somehow a knock against their bags, a reason to "NOT Buy The Mosko..."? It's not like they are claiming to be waterproof and you found out that they secretly weren't. If the rain cover doesn't work, you didn't say so. Your points don't have anything to do with the quality or utility of this company's tankbags per se. If you had said the stitching was bad, or the bags fell apart, or the harnesses failed, then you would have a point. Otherwise, this is obviously an attempt to grab traffic and views with a sensationalistic headline. Really shameful of you.
@BeGoneForGood
@BeGoneForGood Год назад
I have read your points but I have to respectfully disagree. You say price and size are not reasons to avoid buying a product and I simply cannot understand that statement. Of course, price and size are reasons you might skip out on a product offering, especially if your needs can be met more cheaply or you need a larger tank bag. I get that you believe this comparison needs to be among comparable products but that isn't the point of the video, as stated. It is to provide the viewer with completely legitimate reasons why a person may choose to NOT buy this Mosko product. Now that may not pertain to everyone, it doesn't even pertain to me, also stated in the video. You will also notice that I wasn't talking about NOT buying any Mosko product as you have detailed different size offerings from the company. I was just saying that if you require a "big" tank bag capable of holding a ton of stuff, then this isn't the bag for you. You seem to believe that the only reason a person could choose to NOT buy a Mosko tank bag and specifically the Nomad or Nomax is because of quality or utility drawbacks when that clearly isn't the case at all. There are different tools for different jobs and I am guessing even Pete himself would recognize that this bag isn't made for everyone. I would guess that he would further tell you that they weren't even trying to target everyone with their tank bag. In order to make something of top quality for some, you have to make choice that will naturally exclude others. It is the nature of top shelf, niche product offerings. What I also find interesting about criticisms like this, is that they are never directed at my "Must Buy" vids (Garmin InReach, Scorpion Helmet) because everyone knows that the tagline of a video is just one guys little opinion on a product and not a demand that everyone must listen. But, for the "cons lists" of products people like yourself get all bent out of shape that if the points mentioned don't directly address everyone, they must be worthless points. That again, is clearly not the case. You can see this with choices people make about bikes, gear, where they travel, etc. It is not a one size fits all community and treating like it is seems rather juvenile to me. You, however, can do with it as you please and I truly appreciate the feedback even if, as I said, I don't necessarily agree with you. That is okay and I wish you the best.

REASONS NOT TO BUY, 1 it costs what it’s advertised at, 2 it’s no good trying to put something in the bag that’s bigger than the bag cos it might not fit & 3 it’s a non waterproof bag according to the description so watch out it’s not waterproof 😳

Biggest error in this review title is going to absolute "Do NOT"... Especially if so many love their stuff... You probably would get more Subs if you did the pros and cons of the Tank Bags instead of so negative. My opinion a Tank Bag should be for small items (batteries, tools & other small items). I like the water carrying part of it the most and small items like batteries to connect to phones etc.

I appreciate the feedback. I did do a pro/con setup but broke it into two videos instead. Perhaps it would help if I told you that “subs” or views isn’t really a goal of mine one way or the other. It was initially when I started but I realized I could drive myself crazy chasing stuff like that. Now, I just make content that I think is useful and sometimes, as is the case here…break it up into manageable segments so I have time to shoot and edit. For this scenario I had the option to make two ten minute vids or one monster 20. I chose to break it apart for ease and to keep the idea focused. That is the long way to an answer for why I did what some would call a “negative” review.

Won’t buy. Not worth the criminal $550 price tag! Not waterproof, not secure enough for the price tag, only has a limited lifetime warranty, which would be very subjective, for that price it would want to have a full lifetime warranty, including crash / slide & theft replacement & the product would want to last at least 6 years of every day use…. Mosko might be a decent brand, but not for the criminal price they charge for their products!

I appreciate the back up and honestly, I think a lot of the hate just boils down to people feeling very strongly about the investments they've made in some of this gear. I don't take it too seriously but always enjoy the conversations.

Others may not feel the same way and I thought it was important to get all the facts and not just a rah rah for the fear I happen to like. So you think it’s clickbait to say “Resons to NOT buy something” and then detail in the video some of the reason a person would NOT want to buy something even though I personally made a different choice? Was the video I made about reasons TO buy it also clickbait or is that my sincere video in your estimation? That’s interesting logic. Is it only possible to see the down sides of a product if those down sides were enough to get ME to not purchase the product? For instance, have you ever heard experienced riders telling new riders not to get the biggest, heaviest, and fastest bike they can because they understand the reasons WHY that might not be a good choice for THAT person and not just EVERY person? If they made a video detailing those reasons…that’s a reason to lose trust in those people? Again, it’s a big RU-vid world and if me brining you the good AND the bad of a product I have extensive experience with, then, absolutely, I wish you better luck in other places but that mentality seems ridiculous to me with all due respect.

You think the reason I’m bothering to respond to you is for engagement?!? How valuable do you think a YT channel is? If I stopped TODAY and never put another ounce of effort into this channel it would be DECADES before I broke even. This is not an endeavor to choose if your goal is money or views or clicks or whatever. You see it as clickbait and I just fundamentally disagree as the title of the video describes EXACTLY what is in the video. You seem to think there is a big distinction between “do NOT buy” and “reasons to NOT buy”. One is a word shorter and a statement as opposed to a wishy washy sentiment but the point is identical. Honestly, the thing I find MOST fascinating about folks like you and your claims is that they aren’t attached to the “definitely buy this…” or “you have to have this…” reviews I do. I have a review about the Garmin GPS systems saying it is a MUST for riders. No one claims any clickbait on that video because vids that tell us gear we have to have is the norm. I realized this phenomenon a few years ago when I could only find positive reviews for the bike I was about to sell. I chose to highlight the reasons a person would NOT want that bike and strangely owners of that bike told me I was wrong. No actually they told me the points were all true but I was full of it and creating clickbait. Forgive me for not taking you particularly seriously but it all sounds like echoes of the same thing. You say my title is to strong perhaps because it says do not buy but when I detail the reasons I think someone should not buy, isn’t that a fitting title?

@@BeGoneForGood Oxford Dictionary - noun - definition: (on the internet) content whose main purpose is to attract attention and encourage visitors to click on a link to a particular web page. The title is designed for clicks, and does not clearly inform the viewer of the content inside. So your argument turns on what “most” people should do with the review? How do I know what most people should do with a small tank bag? Or one that is over engineered? Or what is to say that most SHOULD buy this bag? Seems like clarity might be lacking a little in your assessment as well. I get it, you like Mosko stuff…I do too. I also recognize that there are PLENTY of reasons to dislike Mosko stuff and thought about making something for folks that may NOT appreciate this tank bag. @@BeGoneForGood to be clear, I've never owned or used a Mosko Moto product. I'm doing research right now to see if it works for me or not. Hence digging into reviews and running into one that says "Do NOT Buy" which of course makes me think there's some fatal flaw to this bag. Your title is what made me think that. "Do NOT Buy" leaves no room for argument. Not like you said, "Do NOT Buy if you need more room" or "Do NOT Buy if you don't like a ton of pockets." All RU-vid titles are built to attract attention, true. Some are just more truthful than others. Anyway, you don't need integrity to make youtube dollars. Have fun and peace out.

It’s funny that you believe YT dollars are in ANY way behind these things. As I said there are plenty of reasons to NOT buy this bag and I listed only three. To put all three in the title along with explanations for their reasoning would easily eclipse my allotment so I chose for something more pithy. I apologize if you felt that meant some sort of fatal error. Especially if you felt that SO strongly that you chose to impune my knowledge or my integrity. Perhaps my understanding of do NOT buy and yours are simply a touch different. I don’t assume there is ANY reason that would apply to everyone so I don’t account for that interpretation of my language. You seem to believe that a do NOT buy assertion needs to wrap up the entirety of the potential buying population. That seems a ridiculous marker to me but to each their own right?

I don’t know what sort of bike you’re riding with it but the bump under the bag from the AT chews up significant amounts of space, which I mentioned. I also would love to know what sort of riding you could possibly do with the bag pack full of all that stuff because it certainly couldn’t be anything with you standing and feeling the tank. I am glad the bag works well for you and it’s impressive how much you can fit. I’d love to see your video of the pack out on your channel. Maybe you should drop a link here so everyone can see how it is that you do it. If you watch any of the countless other vids I’ve posted, you can see the bag being used and I wasn’t worried about b-roll for a simple review. I do TRULY love the “hipster wannabe” portion of your critique as I think it says an awful lot about who you want to appear to be as opposed to who I am. I am glad you have other options that better fit your desires but again I am stunned that you think, just because you are aware of the intricacies of a product, that the negatives or considerations I think are worthwhile somehow should be deemed useless to everyone else. Perhaps, you know more because you either chose to buy already or have watched a lot of videos about the product. What I noticed as I started doing this is that folks really only made videos about the positives of products they purchased. To me, that only told half of the story and even though I personally chose to invest in some of these products, they certainly aren’t for everyone. In this specific case, I am still a fan of my Mosko but I now know I could have definitely gotten away and been satisfied with something far cheaper. Telling other people about that info doesn’t seem like a bad thing to me even though it surely gets some folks on here downright irate. Now, I get it…many complain solely about the title and it’s inflammatory tone. Fine. Yes, I made a declarative statement that certainly has much more underlying context but that is sort of the nature of titles isn’t it? I do however follow up the title with exactly what the title describes. Definitionally, “clickbait” would be a video about something completely different or off topic from the title. That isn’t what you’re seeing here. You just simply think hard stances and the reasons I gave for them aren’t worthwhile…which is totally acceptable. Clearly this video isn’t for you. It is for the guy that DOES have to consider these aspects of his purchase of one of the most expensive tank bags on the market. I do appreciate the feedback and the interactions. This is, after all, a learning process for me as I go but I will leave you with one last challenge…if it is indeed the finite, absolute nature of my title that really gets you wadded up, why is it that I NEVER hear complaints from any of you detractors about my “Must Buy” or “You NeedThis” type of vids? Seems maybe you’re just programmed to accept the vids that push you to continue to consume but not those that question whether or not another purchase is really worth it. Just a thought. Thanks again.
