I learn a lot from PPMD. Marth is my main since starting to play Melee on slippi. The more marth and other characters knowledge the more I partake into my play! Love and respect PPMD!
Maybe an in-depth laser decision video where you really emphasize your laser game thought process? (i.e "I, the notoriously great content creator and also a rapper in denial, decided NOT to laser here because of x, y and z. I decided to do x y or z instead of lasering, given stage and MU of course). Just an idea :3
Hi PP, big fan of yours since I first watched your Apex 2014 set against M2K. Glad to see you're doing well and succeeding with the channel, and I love your content! One request I have for the type of material is breaking down defensive options. Often times you're steamrolling your opponents and breaking down their habits, so these situations are rare, but I'd love it if you can describe your thought process when stuck in a bad spot or getting comboed and trying to get out of it (i.e. out of shield options, what DI are you looking for, how are you looking to position yourself more favorably). As a Marth main, I'm hoping to improve in these situations against fast characters like Falco, Falcon, and Fox who can sometimes just rush me down. Against pressure on the ground, I find myself holding shield a lot and rolling around / grabbing, but looking to do other out-of-shield options (wavedash, dair/bair esp. when I'm getting crossed up). In the air, I try to DI out when getting comboed, and try to escape to ledge or a platform so I can regain my footing. These are just a few examples but I'd appreciate it if you could break down some of these situations as you're playing an opponent. Keep up the awesome content PP!
I would love a rundown of marth vs sheik. I feel like I can beat sheiks worse than me, but lose to sheiks better than me (of course) but I have no idea why or what's going on.
How about the process of reading DI for followups and combos with Marth? I often drop combos because I misread the DI, what are some ways you can practice reacting to DI mix ups?
Likely just an accidental L/R press Could also be shieldstopping and then jump cancel grabbing. That would mean he missed his initial dash, shielded, released, jumped, and then missed the Z button to cancel the jump with a grab. That felt way more complicated to explain, lol.
Yeah if you press Z too early (before the throw animation is actually done) then you get the light shield. Then he probably pressed up to throw him and did a short hop with tap jump instead
Thank you as always for that content PP ! Could someone explain why it seems better to face the opposite direction with Marth when edgeguarding with down-B ? Like PP does at 3:05, for instance. Is it always better ? Thanks ! Edit : Nevermind, PP explains it at 4:44, of course he does !
@@jojal6120 Thanks for the answer ! I guess protecting Marth's foot from being hit helps landing the counter everytime indeed. It seems more reliable that way, at least that's why I understand from PP's short explanation at 4:44. Thanks :)
It's very very important to note that aerial down b has an even slightly better hitbox , and it pushes you down if you do it right off the ground. Edit- yes the optimal is reverse sh down b
