Do NOT Use SeatGeek To Buy Tickets! (My Experience) 

To all the comments saying that I’m being ungrateful for the upgraded tickets- obviously I was very happy with how things turned out. If you watched the entire video you’ll know that I made a point to say that the person at the SeatGeek customer support was super nice to me, but even though he was able to hook me up with upgraded seats, that was only because they happened to be the only available seats left over. I got super lucky. The seats could’ve been anywhere in the theater. Yes, I was able to get upgraded seats but I still had to go through all the stress and hassle of having to call customer support and only having 10 minutes to find my seats by the time this was all cleared up- that’s why this video was created. Some comments are saying that they’ve used SeatGeek for years and they’ve had no problems- and that’s great. I’m glad that you haven’t run into anything, but that’s just not what happened with me, as well as all the other comments of people sharing their stories of their bad experience with SeatGeek. Again, I’m obviously very grateful and happy with how things turned out but I just wanted to warn people about these third-party companies so they could avoid any hassle in the future- and like I said in the video, the people at the box office even told me that they discourage people using SeatGeek. I don’t agree with a lot of these comments. Even though he got better seats there is a huge probability that he wouldn’t have gotten better seats. This guy was extremely lucky. I think this guy is really grateful that he got better seats, but the fact that this situation happened at all is in my opinion absolutely unexceptionable. This guy is just looking out for people.

i went to a concert a couple of weeks ago and it worked.

I just bought BTS tickets and I kinda feel like I’m gonna end up getting scammed.... they just came out for general sale and I didn’t get them on a later day... I don’t wanna travel so far and make it up there to not be able to go. I do not want to NOT be able to see this concert. I’m scared and don’t wanna waste my time.

All of y’all saying you’ve used seatgeek multiple times and haven’t had a problem but I mean it’s still a third party business so there’s always gonna be a chance that the next time you use it what happened to him happens to you soooo

Thanks for the video. My event was "postponed" because of COVID, now that the event is rescheduled I'm having trouble getting verification that my tickets will be available. Their customer service representative lied to me and said the new event date and time would be updated in the app, but I here I am months later and it's still not updated. I will never use SeatGeek again.

I used seatgeek to buy tickets to a soccer game 3 years ago and luckily I didn’t have any problems at all, when I got to the game they just scanned my ticket and let me in. But I was recently told not to use seatgeek because people get scammed and after watching this video I don’t think I will use seatgeek ever again. I am thinking about going to a soccer game once again in 2 months and I will definitely use ticketmaster instead.

Obviously this is an issue, but it could be a mistake. The guy double selling it might’ve forgotten to take it off seatgeek once the Ticketmaster guy bought it.

You can't act like selling a single product twice to different customers is okay. In my book that's unethical. And explaining that it's third party brings up the question of accountability. Thank you for the video.

I’ve been looking at SeatGeek for awhile and there prices are too wishy-washy for me. Sometimes there ticket prices are jacked way higher than the original site that sold the tickets and on rare occasions you can fine one ticket a few dollars cheaper but who knows what you’re getting from a second hand purchase.

so the moral of the story is show up early if you get tix from seat geek.

I brought my friend to a Patriots game for his bday. We traveled 2 hours and 48 minutes just to find out the tickets i bought for the game were Fake. And i bought then on Seat Geek and NEVER used that god forsaken app.

You were very fortunate that SeatGeek helped you out and replaced the tickets. Stubhub and other marketplaces would not have helped you out in such a fast manner and they would have charged you the difference in price. It was the person (seller) who listed the tickets on SeatGeek who made the error. They double sold the tickets...You should y be happy that SeatGeek went out of there way to do the right thing and gave you great customer service..

Wait...if I understand correctly, the seller sold his ticket on TicketMaster and SeatGeek, and somehow the person who bought it from Ticketmaster got to the venue first and claimed their tickets before you did. Could the situation be reversed? If you and your GF got there first, would the person who bought from Ticketmaster be screwed?

SeatGeek is the only one and not as high ticket fees with a good promo code at $20 so I think I can suck it up with the problems lol my ticket came out to be 16 bucks 😎

I actually got turned away with stub hub tickets one time for a demi lovato concert. I was devastated. But I used them again after that issue & haven’t had an issue since. I just bought MCR tickets on seat geek so here’s to hoping they work!

It's ok if you had a bad experience and don't want to use them again., but do you think the company deserves all the negative publicity you have brought them just for this single incident? Thousands of satisfied customers with no publicity, but 1 bad experience brings a ton of bad publicity... if you don't like them don't use them again, but the incident certainly didn't deserve all the negative puclicity you have brought on them.
