Thanks for showing the detail on your hay racks, I was not aware that they are stuck on with the J clips. Do you have any advice for a couple of hutches that I purchased that were actually made with a smaller hardware cloth wire -- would I have to install the hay racks inside somehow?
Well first of all if they are made of hardware cloth on the floors too you should replace that with cage wire. hardware cloth is too small of gauge and is hard on their feet. If it is just the walls it is ok. You could still install a hay feeder on the outside but you may need to cut some larger holes to allow the rabbits to pull the hay through. Hope that helps.
Slightly Rednecked good idea (as always) on cutting a couple of larger holes so there can still be mounted outside. One of the hutches is hardware on bottom but thinking of using it as a grow out cage for bunnies. The other trouble with both hutches is there are no sifter- feeder holes and I've been resisting cutting into the wire but it seems the babies occasionally find they like digging in the feeder by the evidence under the cage! I will have to just grit my teeth and cut into the side! In any upcoming video could you cover your ideas on weening process and about what age for small medium and giant breeds (I have smalls (3pound) and large (10 pound) grown weight. Thank you for being my farming encyclopedia!
