Do Radios Interfere with other Radios?

Rumors say that operating on certain frequencies interfere with other frequencies. This video will test that theory in close quarters which should be enough to cause interruption.
Test is using the following radios:
Motorola XTS1500 (Analog/P25)
Motorola XTS3000 (Analog/P25)
Motorola XTS5000 (Analog/P25)
Baofeng UV5R (Analog)
BTECH UVX3 (Analog)
Onn FRS (Analog)
COTRE CO06D (Analog/DMR)
Motorola Nextel ic502 (iDEN)
This is just my way of testing; feel free to provide other ways of testing out radios interfering with each other.

It's funny how you mentioned the old boom box letting you know that you were going to get a call during those old flip phone days. In my case, not only did my stereo amp make that weird sound, but the phone would actually turn my amp on and off when sitting next to the remote control. Somehow the signal from the phone interfered with the stereo remote too.

This person must be a complete novice in radio theory. When our club used airport property for ham radio field day, we had to agree to agree to stay away from some frequencies. This included not only air tower control frequencies, but also frequencies that could create harmonics which might cause problems. There are Federal Communication rules on radio interference, not only from other radios but other devices that generate radio frequencies. The radios he showed included at least one cheap Chinese radio that is known for the low quality.

I would hope that they asked you to stay away from ATC frequencies as they are not permitted on ham band usage anyway. Even if your group was not near the airport, you wouldn't have permission to use ATC frequencies either way. As the guy said, all devices have frequencies and could interfere but are also designed in a way not to. He did mention the FCC making note of interference, which is why he tested good radios and the cheap Chinese radio. He also asked that if anyone steps forward, to be an accredited tech to explain or help the "theory." Please explain your credentials to the guy 👍

Several of our members are EE graduates from a university well known for their engineering school. I mentioned the airport because that is the level which the feds require, although they are not enforced in lesser situations as they would be on FAA frequencies or other high level government entities. I have seen radios in the same room stay silent because the transmitted signal desensitized the receive of the other radios.

@@RadioCheckk ATC frequencies are not only in the 122 MHZ range, but AM, and not FM.

If it was really such an issue, FCC would scratch off FRS and GMRS since those frequencies are in the same band as Arizona DPS. GMRS operates 462-467 mhz while DPS operates on 460 mhz. There are several GMRS 50 watt repeaters in the valley that do not interfere with DPS' ability to communicate. Please have your EE graduate friends put together a video and post it on RU-vid so we can properly learn please and thank you 🤙
