This week, I start building the roll around body table, or body jig! This is going to be a great addition to the shop, and a very useful piece of equipment for my current project, and other future Model A builds!
Welcome to my Channel! I had another great week in the shop beating and banging on my Hemi powered Model A Special Coupe Traditional Hot Rod build.
There's still plenty to do! Subscribe and click the notification bell so you don't miss a thing! Please leave a comment, and thanks for watching!!
Coming up soon on this project... More trunk repair, chassis fabrication, finishing the rear subrails, fitting oversize door pins, rebuilding door latches, rust repair on the doors and quarter panels, and much more!
Thanks for watching me bring this old 1928 Ford Model A Special Coupe back to life!
Need my address? E-mail me, and I will send it to you so, that I don't have to make it public, Thanks!

Good morning Phillip,that’s turning out really good and will certainly help aligning the body panels once you get the body bolted back on and I’d be very happy with the welds on those brackets! Great job buddy, have an awesome week! ☕️

Good looking start on the body jig, Phillip.... The way that you’ve got it planned out should work just fine... Get her leveled out and throw in some cross bracing and gussets, then she’ll be sturdy enough for anything that you want to do on her... The only other idea that I might consider,, would be to figure out a way to make it so that the front frame rails could be removeable , just Incase you wanted to see what a whole body mock up would look like.... Like I said,, just a idea... Catch you on the next video my friend....

I think having the front frame rails removable would be a great idea. I'll keep the pieces just in case I ever decide to do that. It would be simple to make some tabs to bolt them back on to mock up a front clip. Great idea! Have a good week!

Yes ------ those Covid years were rough on Lumber prices -------- needed some 2x4's ------- didn't know whether to even do the project at that time ---------- That steel fold up table ------ you use it a lot -------- a Eastwood of Harbor Freight unit ------- seems pretty stable? -------- cutting a notch out of the bottom of the --- C-channel to pass leg up through ------ welding at the cut out area ----- up one side of leg to the channel ------ then at the top against the top of the channel should be pretty stout -------- Looks Good ----- should come in use full ------ especially now since you can anchor that body down and jack against the frame rails and push that back portion up without pushing the bottom all out of Wack -------------- SO -------- You mentioned ------ EVERYTHING ------ in the shop will have ------- WHEELS ---------- I need to know what size shoe you wear ------- So I can send you a pair of Skates -------- Ball or Needle brg. ------ lace or Velcro ------ color ---- fluorescent ---- or High Gloss Chassis Black --------- do you want the option of having your favorite radio station added ------- so when you roll along the Tunes will play? ---------- Thank for another look at what's Happen' at Phillip's Garage -------- Have a Good One ------ Rodney

Now Rodney, there is no way you are going to get me on a pair of roller skates, or a skateboard either one. I would bust my butt and you'd be laughing at me! The table I'm using is from Harbor Freight. It is a super handy table to have around. It works great for a lot of projects. Thanks for the comment as always buddy!

You need a model a table and a 32 table. Could do sooo much with both
@phillipshotrodgarage
@phillipshotrodgarage 11 месяцев назад
You are correct on that, but where am I going to find a old set of cheap, rusty and cracked 32 rails I can build a table out of? Those don't exist in my neck of the woods LOL. That would be the ticket though!

Looks like a good start. I think it needs some bracing, but i am sure you have figured it out already. Those welding seams looks good to my eyes. Few yrs ago, a guy from the neighborhood brought a stainless exhaust manifold that needed some modification. It was tig welded and all the weldings looked like beautifully done. I looked inside of the manifold with a flashlight and there was a none of penetration. In my books thats pretty low quality piece. A slightly crappier welds are better with a good penetration than non existing penetration..

I agree. I believe I need to add some bracing. I haven't decided where yet. I had a very good welder to weld a piece of aluminum for me a couple years ago. It eventually broke again, and the weld was all on top, no penetration at all.

Very cool! Are there any changes you have to make to a Model A sub-frame when installing a Model A body on a '32 frame? Thanks for sharing, Phillip! Bro Harry
@phillipshotrodgarage
@phillipshotrodgarage 11 месяцев назад
Yes sir there is. Basically the whole subrail section from around the back of the front seat all the way back to the rear of the body has to be changed to clear the curved 32 frame.
