Do the Yankees have a left field problem brewing? 

In my opinion he has NOT been a good fielder. The announcers try to make him look like a good fielder by lavishly praising him when he makes moderately difficult plays. Often, they are plays with 80% likelihood which are "must" plays for a championship team. Nothing special.

Verdugo has to go. Missing the cut off repeatedly, blowing that 99% catch for the game. That’s mental. It’s not a game random physical error. It’s a mental error by a mental headcase. The Red Sox gave him to the Yankees for a reason. Clearly he’s not a reliable player moving forward.

When he was doing good everyone was saying he was just what we needed now that he hit a slump those same people are saying to trade him...

If Alex Verdugo was any good, the Red Sox wouldn’t have traded him to incompetent Brian Cashman. Trade him before July 31, 2024.

Yankees have had a problem at LF, 3B, and 2B for years and continue to do nothing about it

It will be Verdugo and Grisham like it is currently until Dom is ready then one of them or both of them warms the bench most days late in season / playoffs if the team holds on and makes it that far.

You can’t just turn on players all the time when things go bad.

Halfway through the current baseball season, I have come to the conclusion that Verdugo is arguably the third most valuable player on the team. His acquisition was one of the best moves the Yankees have made in recent memory. However, I believe that the Yankees should consider trading him as part of a package deal. It is highly unlikely that the Yankees will re-sign him after this season, and he has become a liability in terms of team morale and performance.

Of course call him up, what is the question? Surely they will, don't know why they wouldn't. I just hope he can get here before the playoffs

The Yankees have a CENTERFIELD problem and are clogged up at the DH spot. Judge can be moved to LF. Soto in RF. Stanton at DH is a concern. Expect a long cold streak when gets off the IL. Worse, both Judge & Soto need DH time. Stanton is VERY limited defensively & has not played a game in the field all year. Verdugo is looking like a weak link at this point and he is not the answer for CF. IF HEALTHY... Luis Robert would be great. Spencer Jones does not look ready quite yet. Yoan Moncada is tearing up AAA in his rehab. Matbe he can be a short term fix at 3b. His contract is up at end of season. IF HEALTHY (big if), he is a good 3bman.
