The Yankees were by far the best team in mlb UNTIL the Dodgers came into the Bronx and Dodger fans completely took over Yankee Stadium making it Dodger Stadium East Bronx edition. Since LA whooped them around, humiliated them, and served them a big fat slice of humble reality pie they have looked broken and scared ever since. They know they can be beaten and that they are not invincible as they seemed up until that series in NY.

The Anthony Volpe play last night where he didn’t hustle home, meaning he did NOT score on the third out on a tag, which caused the Yankees to lose in extras, really encapsulates their season so far.

You can always pitch around 1 or 2 guys in any lineup and that gets even easier when the rest of the lineup isn't hitting. If you look at the lineups of O's, Cleveland and the surging Astros, just about everyone except 1 or 2 guys in their lineup has an OPS above .700.

Not just the offense, the defense is doodoo.

Pitching aside, Yankees offense needs to get out of the “home run only” mentality and start playing more small ball. Runs don’t have to be home runs!!

If the yanks want to win it all this year while they have soto and stuff this can be the lineup 1. Luis Rengifo (3B) 2. Jazz Chisolm Jr. (2B) 3. Juan Soto (LF) 4. Aaron Judge (RF) 5. Giancarlo Stanton (DH) 6. Jasson Dominguez (CF) 7. Ben Rice (1B) 8. Anthony Volpe (SS) 9. Jose Trevino (C) Chisolm > Torres, Dominguez takes out Verdugo from the outfield, And Rengifo over DJ is big upgrade. Of course if they can, they add Tanner Scott + Garret Crochet. Tanner can be closing out the games in October other than Holmes who can just be a side arm. Crochet takes out Rodon from the rotation adding significant boost. Gerrit Cole (who's coming back), Garret Crochet, Nestor Cortes, Marcus Stroman, Clark Shmidt/Luis Gil sounds like a good rotation to me. Either Clark/Luis Gil to the bullpen along with Weaver, Tonkin, Clay Holmes, Tanner Scott, Cody Poteet, and some guys coming from injury. Bench can have veteran presence like Rizzo, DJ, Verdugo and more who have come through in big moments. I know I jus went on a yap but if this team make a splash at the deadline, I have faith still, it's not all over jus yet

Horrible & Miserable: Perfect way to describe the Stinkees!

I agree that a regression was inevitable but regression and going from the most dominant team in baseball at the top of every single statistic that is meaningful to the worst team in baseball are not the same. This is an anomaly that will balance out as the season goes on. Volpe, who was the leadoff hitter, is TANKING right now and will bounce back. Rice looks really good and will be contributing. Wells is finally starting to hit. And most of their losses have come on back breaking 1 pitch game changing plays. For example Stroman giving up the 3 run homer that snuck over the wall by like half a foot. Holmes missing his spot in the 9th up 2 runs to blow the save tonight. Stuff like that. It's a 20 game stretch of embarassing play in July. It will likely not be remembered come September. This team is still good. Volpe, Verdugo, Judge, Soto, Stanton (who will be back soon), and Rice are all good hitters. That's 6 of their 9 hitters. They'll be fine. It'll be a race between them and Baltimore for the AL champions. Their pitching will turn back around. Stroman, Rodon, Cole and Cortes have all looked good in their last starts. They all pitched like 3 bad games in a row. It happens. Their record against teams with a .600 win percentage or better through the first 70 games was 17-7. They're fine. Now if this is still happening come mid August... that is a different story

There's definitely some problems with effort it seems with the yanks like the defensive plays you showed and some of the base running has been pretty dreadful to watch. There's still plenty of season left but they definitely can't keep playing like this if they are wanting to hit the playoffs

Hey what are your thoughts on the Astros right now? They went from being one of the worst teams in baseball to one of the hottest. Had the best June record in all of baseball. It seems that Jose Abreu really brought some bad juju cause when he was on the team they sucked and were great when he got sent to the rookie league and great now that hes been released. The pitching has been a lot better too despite the injuries. Hunter Brown has had one of the greatest turnarounds I've ever seen. Id love to hear your thoughts on the situation but understand if you dont want to since youve made a few videos on them already.

After about two months Boone has worn down the bullpen to shreds and other teams start exploiting the Yanks's defensive and lineup weaknesses. This has happened every year Boone and Cashman have been together. Sometimes the Yanks have so much (high priced) talent they're able to get through the entire regular season before falling apart in the playoffs. Other times they fall apart during the regular season. The end result however is and will remain the same.
