What I regret not doing was not getting a credit card to build my credit score when I moved to the UK. I asked some blacks I met in the UK and they scared the hell out of me. I later read about it myself and in less than a year, I'm almost hitting 980. Lesson: Research on every information you need for yourself rather than solely relying on what people will tell you.

Credit score works a bit differently in the Uk. Say you want a mortgage for a house, if you use an app to track your credit the score the bank may not look at your credit score. They have their own checklist they use to verify how much of a risk you are. So they may look at things like; You paying your rent on time, not defaulting on your car loan, phone payments etc. Most institutions keep it a secret as to what they look out for. It's good to keep your credit score but it doesn't work the way you think it does in the Uk.

@@kikitaughtme for a newbie in the UK, you're less likely to have a car, thus car loan, and your monthly rent payments contributes infinitesimally towards how credible you are. Atop all the things a bank will look at, your credit score contributes significantly. Build it and it will help you in so many ways. Yes, credit score is not the only thing banks look at and different apps present different scores but it's very important. Build it as early as you can.

Passed my driving test first attempt two weeks ago. Didn’t have a car and neither did I drive at all aside my driving lessons. Take your lessons seriously and be consistent with your lessons and you will be fine👍

@NanelleGriselda concerning the driver's license is it the normal ordinary say Ghana License which you use in Accra that you can use in the UK for the 12months on arrival or should you get an International Driving Licence from DVLA Ghana and bring it to use that Abroad. Please clarify cos it's not really clear which particular one works here. When I tell people about what you said they believe you mean the international one instead so please clarify for me. Nanelle is very smart🤝 Concerning getting a car and driving in the UK that’s very important cos getting a job most of the time depends on that, especially outside London. I only learned how to drive Automatic cars and I’m currently having a challenge getting a good used Automatic Car to buy. They are not common comparatively and very expensive too, here in the UK. I’m in the East of England and Bus schedules mostly do not coincide with job schedules and buses also take longer routes. Also, don’t just learn how to drive an Automatic car, learn how to drive manual cars too cos most of the cars here have manual gears and are cheaper compared to Automatic. Pls Forgive me for my long comment. I just don’t want people to have the same problem I’m facing 😊 @ Nanelle can you do a video on how to get a cheap car insurance with an international driver’s licence. Thank you 🙏

Buying your first car for £3,000 and you consider that cheap hmmm u must be rich. Advising people to do the same is the part i disagree with your video when there are cheap cars for around £250 - £300 any new driver can start with. This advise is wrong, make your audience understand that there are far cheaper cars and dont compare your affluent lifestyle with that of majority who are struggling with high cost of living and can be scared at the mention of your big amount 3k. But the good thing about your video is the inclusion of sights and scenes which made the message more real & practical. These are missing in most videos where it is only long talk
