Immediately said burpees after you said multiple muscle groups, and was 100% sure once you said cardio. But I hate burpees with a passion so I'm stuck doing weight training and cardio separately haha

@@BenEcho Doesn't involve lats and biceps though (becausr it has no pull aspect). If I could only choose one exercise, I'd probably go for the muscle up and sacrifice my leg muscles. EDIT: On a second note, the best bang for your buck is the clean and press. It's like a deadlift, overheadpress and squat in one.

Hi Ben, you`re definitely correct bro! Actually at the start of this podcast I had a strong feeling you were going to mention burpees. You know an exercise is good when you ask people about burpees, like I had, to two women. One was a middle aged Pilates instructor and the other was a young lady approximately your age who trained in Crossfit allegedly six days a week. When I asked them about burpees, there spontaneous answer was, I HATE burpees. I knew then I was definitely on to something. I just turned 60 and the best time I did 100 burpees in, probably 18 months ago was 9 minutes and 15 seconds. Lately Iv `e struggled to get under 10 minutes. I need to get back into them because as you say, they are an awesome exercise. Best wishes to you and Olivia.

Burpee is a pretty good one, but idk if it's sufficient in training strength, particularly for stronger folk.

I think i might do burpees on my off days from the gym. Currently doing every 2nd day, with 15 minutes warm up cardio while stretching, followed by 1.5 hours of body weights followed by 15-20 minutes of more cardio with multiple 20+ high intensity cardio. This is also after working a labour focused job for 8 hours

Thanks for the video. I do a burpee ladder routine. start with 1 burpee the first minute, then 2 the second minute, and keep going until you can't do the amount you are at in a minute. I can usually get to 15. that ends up being 120 burpees. starts off easy and gets tough. I like it.

I did think that, but then... Isn't a burpee like a circuit of Jump/hop then squat transition into a push-up(then do a push-up) then stand back up again through a squat? Repeat....

The horse stance, with the most challenging form, is one of the most powerful exercises. Ps: I don't mean the actual martial arts form, I mean one that has a very wide stance with bent knees and arms held straight forward, your legs should make a 90 degree angle on the knee joint and back should be straight. This was used for stability on boats in a type of martial arts

im really new to working out, i used to do tons of skating and football but because of the pandemic ive stopped. i dont have a specific workout routine and instead just do certain exercises until i collapse. i make sure to keep proper form and eat well. is this good enough to stay in shape or should i begin following an actual routine?

That’s certainly good enough to stay in shape but having some sort of structure just makes it easier to stay consistent. More importantly having and end goal or specific date makes it even easier to stay consistent.

I knew you were going to say burpees LoL.... Question, however....how do burpees work the back? I don't think they do, not significantly anyway. It's mostly chest, triceps, abs, shoulders, quads and calves. Perhaps to help stabilise the core, the back muscles are engaged. But they're not being worked like the other named muscle groups.

I once did 100 days of 100 burpees a day, it is brutal and effective for sure. PS: Doing burpees with feet closer together and pointing forward doesn't program knee valgus into your body, I'd recommend changing that one little thing to get more benefits.

I do burpees for 30s at the end of my hiit workout and my heart rate gets as high as 177. According to my Apple Watch my cardio fitness is below average. I’ve been working out pretty hard for the last year and it seems I’m still a bit out of shape 🤷‍♂️

Before you say the #1 workout I'm going to guess a burpee or however it is spelled. I'll make an edit if um right or wrong Edit: I was right! It is great cardio and it is basically multiple workouts as one! Great calorie burner and you don't need to spend hours of doing it. Just a few minutes like 25-30 (at least I'd do it for that long)

Good vid I saw where you were going from the beginning when you displayed the push up and then the squat the burpee combines the two so yeah from a cardio-full body workout perspective its THE BEST. But there's a factor here it's called bodyweight if an obese person watches this and tries to add burpees to their routine not only they will fail but they're gonna be quite disheartened to the point of quitting. The burpee is an advanced movement that takes great effort and willpower. The fact that you thin with abs and all can do them is no excuse for presenting them as you did the best way would be to familiarize a person with the pushup and then the squat and then start talking about burpees. They are not easy and this is coming from a guy that nails 30 pull-ups with extra weight on. You are almost bragging at the end of the video dude..You re like look I did 100 burpees it's easy you can do them too...NO.

Yeah but being in a cage doesn't limit how many different exercices you can do. And it doesn't answer MY existential questions. What would I do if i'm in a cage where I don't have enough room to stand and enough to lay down. I guess I would do Yoga
