Trimming stem plants isn't always easy. To help yourself you can apply this simple technique explained in this video to make trimming stem plants and trimming all kind of plants easier.
The same technique can applied prior scaping the aquarium. Simply draw some guidelines on the front glass of your aquarium and use them to make sure your hardscape corresponds to the "Rule of Thirds" aka "Golden Ratio".
