@@scorpionz44 - You're right, and it's so unfortunate that you had to inject disdain into a particular conversation that had the opportunity to bring you greater respect. What a pity for you.
Thank you for all your hard work I was 298 than decided to start working hard on myself. I am now down to 230. I still have 30 or so to go. I'm 56, and have been exercising and working daily to get back in to fitness. Thanks 😊
I know the feeling no joke. I heard when we burn fat most of it is exhaled imagine how much exhaled fat is floating around in gyms I can't help but wonder if we're also inhaling it!

*Summary:* *What muscle to work on:* The transverse abdominis shown at 1:00 is what we need to work on. If we train this muscle we can cause the area to be tightened. We train it in the morning. *How to work on the muscle:* Take a huge deep breath in and expel it all out which creates a vaccum allowing to pull abs in. Completely shown at 3:50
Well, my arm muscles have got bigger during the lockdown, but, unfortunately, due to all the home cooking I'm doing, my waist has got slightly bigger, too.
You know if your job was looking awesome on RU-vid and Instagram, you would have plenty of time to do these things. So just quit the job you have and do that. Do it today.
I did these as a kid just because I thought it was fun to do. Got away from it as an adult. Thanks for bringing my attention back to something I know works real well and I’m enjoying getting back into it! Your perspective, as always, is spot-on! Thanks!
Finally, someone that actually goes straight into explaining the exercise. Usually for other work out vids it would take them 25 minutes to explain this.
Yes! Watched a Jeff Nippard video on something and the first 10 minutes was him in the kitchen laughing with his girlfriend getting breakfast prepared then going grocery shopping! All that before the subject of the video
New subscriber. After a 15 year hiatus from the gym you have inspired me to return to training. You have given me a new philosophical approach to training with new exercises. Thank you!
My body transformation progress has slowed down because instead of paying attention to what Jeff says on every video, I end up focusing on the comments.
Amazing to see this. This is actually a Yoga posture called "Udiyan Bandh" in Sanskrit language (India). It is a very effective method. Only point I want to add is that your stomach and bowel must be empty to do this effectively.
Fernando De la Vega it’s really amazing how many videos fitness youtubers can make telling you to eat less to lose fat lol. What’s even more amazing is how many I click on knowing the answer full well lol. One day someone of them will come up with the miracle cure that allows me to eat 3 pizzas a day and still be shredded.
Jose Burgos I don’t know if this works. But the one punch man method can have that effect. But I haven’t tried it fully myself to know if it’s works 100%.
Jeff: "Drink lots of water" Also Jeff: "Do this exercise when you first get out of bed in the morning" Doctor: "So tell me again how you managed to burst your bladder?"
I Love this. I've lost 147 lbs over the last few years and have struggled with the lower abs the whole time. This is exactly what I was looking for to take the next step in my transformation.
Tattoos would cause impingement of Jeffs heroic ability to break out his trusty muscle markers when giving an anatomy class. Thanks for everything Jeff
I have yet to watch one video that hasn't been insightful, funny or at the very least directional in my journey to a lean body. Your knowledge is insanely helpful and appreciated.
I actually like how you opened with stressing diet and nutrition to lower body fat levels. Too many people online are telling people they can just eat whatever they want with no consequences so long as they work out, and it’s simply not true.
Jeff, Thank you for mentioning that the transverse abdominis continues around a person's side into their back. That was such a good reminder for me. I have a motto I use, it's " When engaging any muscle, include the surrounding muscles for a complete workout" That's been a helpful mental reminder to do more than concentrate on only a muscle or muscle group, but include adjacent areas for a better workout. Thanks for all you do
Ive been training my core for approximately 6 months. What I discovered is that even though I was core training I was never effectively activating my TVA. Much of this was because my entire life I've never developed it! My brain never used it so my core always relied on my abs for all the work. About 3 months ago I actively began training my TVA and it's made a huge improvement on all of my movements including shrinking my waste line. Even though my core was well trained my lower belly was always distended in the resting position. At first I thought it was remaining Visceral. I was wrong. My TVA as you explained was just no developed. This is definitely one of the better TVA Vacuum videos I've found yet. Thanks for all your help! You have helped me loose over 40 pounds in the past the few years and transform my Father Figure:)
This is literally yoga, it’s called a bandha. There are two more of them - one in the chest cavity and the other in our necks. Loved the video, thanks Jeff! 🙌🏼
@@agnivaray7476 Myeeah....not really really. Nowadays yoga, what we know as hatha and asjtanga is heavily influenced by western practices. Even Sri Patthabi Jois said that asjtanga is a circus act and has little to do with yoga ( which is meditation). Although vinyasa has been around in forms like dand, asanas itself consisted of 12, mostly seated, to stretch while meditation sessions. You will not find things like surya namaskar in any veda, at least not as a form of vinyasa. It's very clear this is a modified dand. That being said, pranayama and kriyas have been around for a long time. And not only in India, but also in Tibet and China. Thinking of, a known 2500 year old vinyasa form ( in that sense) are the five tibetans. But asjtanga as we know it, was developed somewhere in the 30 ies in the area of Mysore, along with western gymnastics. Practice of zhan zhuang for example, is much much much older. But you're right in the sense that stomach vacuums, as they call it in bygorexiaworld, is already known as uddiyana bandha. And far more advanced in the mindset of kriya.
@@johnmaletic898 don't be silly. meditation is one of the eight limbs of yoga. Hatha and ashtanga are just forms of asana, which is another limb of yoga. These bandhas are usually done during a yoga asana or yoga pranayama (yet another limb of yoga)
This is amazing! I have diastasis text I from 5 c-sections. I have massive backpain from that and injury in military. This excercise is similar to what physical therapy gave me it feels great. It was the first time I felt these muscles in 6 years. I love your channel Thank you!!!!!!
Jeff, i have seen such an increase in my workouts since i followed your channel! Lifting feels better and i look better too, its more than just "going to the gym" its a lifestyle for those motivated enough to be the best that they can be every day so thank you for everything! I lift heavy things for a living at work so its important to know how!
Wow! Thank you Jeff! This is exactly where my problem area is. I’m pretty lean and muscular everywhere else but after having 2 babies it’s hard to tighten that lower belly pooch. I actually feel those muscles when I do this! 🙌🏼
Fantastic exercise !! Simple, easy to apply. Jeff's explanation and commentary is so encouraging. And it applies to me 100%. From today on, it is part of my routine. Thank you, Jeff !!
I REALLY hope this works because I have a flat belly but I have that lower belly and it just WILL NOT go away no matter what I do 😭😭😭😭 I want my Jessica Alba stomach.
noah breding it only works with proper nutrition and a periodized barbell strength training program or a strength training fitness program. Athlean X is very fit and lean, probably one of the leanest people I’ve ever seen which definitely is an attribute of his exercise, strict nutrition and superior genetics. As you have most likely observed, he often draws on himself to further educate the public on what muscles certain exercises focus on. transverse abdominal exercises are not going to magically make a person’s waist smaller if they are still eating poor and not incorporating a training program catered to their specific goals and body type. I encourage you to buy some strength and conditioning books. It will better serve you and provide you with the scientific knowledge to propel your training to the next level. I’m not knocking Athlean X, it’s impressing to see a guy with his physique but don’t you want more? Get a strength training book and implement a 26 week periodized barbell training program. Stay natural and Oh yea... incorporate your 3 or 4 sets of vacuums 🙄
Jay Bean it’s truly remarkable the amount of ego you have. To think that you know more than Jeff, who constantly is staying up to date on how our bodies are supposed to move and how we can best grow muscle while staying safe is just asinine. It’s obviously supposed to go along with your workout regime and diet. Also hogs “superior genetics” claim is garbage, since he is a hardgainer, which means he could gain muscle as easily as a normal person can. You may think you’re a genius, but it seems like your a loser troll who just wants attention.
Ebola Jr lower belly is definitely a bit flatter, but is that from doing this or just from good nutrition and working out. I reckon it’s a mixture of both
